Everything i needed was here. The staff was very professional, the hair stylist made my hair a little bit lighter. It was nice coz i don’t have to tell her what to do with my hair. Great execution! Yet, expect for a higher bill.

This was my first time visiting Harrioin Salon and I am so pleased and happy with my experience! I booked an appointment with Angela Kim for a short layered bob and she nailed it. Angela was extremely attentive to my needs and diligently perfected my cut. I can honestly say I will be a lifelong client, thanks Angela!

I went into the salon with my hair being destroyed from trying to lighten it at home. Angela was my hair stylist and she worked miracles. It took some time and effort to bring my hair back to life and Angela was nothing but patient and wonderful making sure each step was done in a way that it wouldn’t hurt my hair more. She gave me a new color I LOVE and when it came to the hair cut she actually listened to what I wanted. We talked about what would work and look best. In turn I left with a gorgeous new color and a hair cut that makes me feel great all the time. Thank you Angela!

I have been going to Hairroin for the past few years. I always leave the salon feeling «ok» not amazing and let me tell you why:
I have naturally blonde hair but I get highlights to lighten it up. For some, reason, my hair usually looks the same color (only slightly brighter) when I leave. The stylists in the salon have used the words «platinum» highlights so I think i am getting what I want but then it never shows up close to platinum. If I am spending $ 130+ and 3 hours in a chair, I want to see a big difference in my hair color when I leave.
I got my hair done yesterday and I left feeling ripped off. The stylist had mentioned that he might do a deep conditioning treatment during our consol. I figured he would ask me or at least tell me the price before doing the treatment but it did not happen that way. Also, if I am paying $ 130 for a full head of highlights, I want the time spent on my hair to paint and foil my hair into highlights. He told me that he was doing a technique that was not intended to look like highlights but I would just have a few pieces of platinum throughout my hair. I figured the price would be cheaper as it was half the time and half the supplies needed to put my hair into highlights. However, I was still charged for the full head and like I said, my color was practically the same as when I sat in his chair 2 hour earlier. He did however, do a good job on the cut and it was exactly what I asked for.
Don’t get me wrong, everyone is very nice and it’s a nice salon. I just am never in love with my hair when I leave. The other thing that puts a sour taste in my mouth is that right before you check out, the stylist hard care tries to push product down your throat.
I have given this salon a fair shot, but for me, it’s time to move on as the price tag doesn’t warrant the result.

Love this Hair Salon! As soon as I walked in I always greeted. I love Angela! Everytime I book an appointment, she pampers my hair! As soon as I tell her my ideas, she gets creative and knows exactly what I want. Not only is she amazing but she is great on advising how to take care of my hair. Angela is super friendly and makes it very personal to make sure you walk out looking your best!

I started going to Hairroin last year to get my hair balayaged. I had a very particular look I was going for and heard that they were a great salon to get it. I was hooked up with an amazing stylist, Lauren Knoche and have been on the best hair journey of my life. I have never been so happy with my hair! I love it and get complimented so much. She truly listened to what I wanted and accomplished it! Lauren is by far the best stylist I have ever had and I know I’m going back to her for every look. Not to mention all the staff there is very friendly and they play the best tunes while you’re getting work! Thank you Lauren and Hairroin Salon for making my hair amazing and making me feel my best! Love you guys!

Best haircut ever! Crystal is amazing!!! It was my first haircut done by her & it came out perfect & just how I wanted it!!! I’ve had the worst luck with haircuts so this was extra awesome!!! I def recommend her!!! Such a cute salon too!

Love Hairroin! Miriam has been taking care of me since 2015 and we’ve had a lot of fun with my hair color :) She also gives me amazing cuts and keeps my bangs looking sharp!

I had my hair done by Miriam — and it looks great! It had been about 8 months since I had my hair done last (ouch) and Miriam totally revived my hair. It looks amazing! She did a «belyage» so it looks very natural and is growing out very nicely.
My 2 complaints — first, it’s SO expensive. I know you get what you pay for, but $ 70 for a haircut is pretty insane. Second, she was 35 mins late for my appt, and then it took 3.5 hours… So in all just over 4 hours. It’s a long time for shoulder length hair.
However, overall I am very happy!

ANGELA IS AMAZING! It was my first time coming to Hairroin and I’m so glad I did! I’ve been wanting to color my hair rose gold but couldn’t find many salons that offer the color… and I was scared I’d come out with obnoxiously pink hair haha! Angela is super sweet and asks questions so both she and I understand and communicate what I want and expect. My hair had many different shades of stripped blonde and light brown with roots that grew out for way too long. Angela transformed my hair into a rose tinted caramel brown with accented highlights of rose pink near the tips. The result was so much better than I could have ever imagined! I’ve never walked out of a salon feeling this beautiful and fabulous! Ask for her, you won’t regret it!

I recently moved here from NYC and had been going to the same stylist for years! I was afraid I wouldn’t find someone who could maintain my signature graduated bob, but then I found Nikki at Hairroin! She’s amazing and super sweet! She always makes sure to ask if I like how it’s looking, if I want it cut shorter, etc. which is awesome! Nikki wants to make sure you love your cut! And I always do! I won’t see anyone else!
Overall, Hairroin has a really friendly staff and a cool, edgy vibe which also attracted me to the salon in the first place.

I was referred to Hairroin by my old salon manager, and she was totally right when she told me this was the perfect salon for me! I love the aesthetic and vibe as soon as you walk in-​punk goth chic. I called to make my initial appointment and told the receptionist what I was looking for: someone who did awesome short cuts. She recommended Angela, and thank God! Angela listens to what I want, and talks me through the cut to make sure I’m on the same page as her the whole way through. She’s also super easy to talk to, and sells me products without being pushy. I love that she takes pictures of my hair after every appointment and features my hair on her Instagram. It’s a great personal touch that makes me feel like a mini-​celebrity! A+++!!!

I’ve been going to Hairroin Salon for over 2 years now and I won’t go anywhere else. The entire staff is edgy, classy, and always honest with me about what they think I should do next, or keep doing with my hair. It feels like getting an expert eye to your hair and your personal style, which I love.
I try to get Miriam every time since she does an amazing cut and color combo. Highly recommend her, but if she’s booked, don’t hesitate on having someone else do a killer job on your next doo. Even if you aren’t in the Hollywood area you should get off your biscuit and check out Hairroin Salon, it’s the best.

I am going to regret writing this review but it is way overdue and it’s time that I share.
Miriam is the shez-​nez, Queen B, miracle worker, just hands down the best stylist ever!
I’ve been going to Miriam for about 5 years now and for the past 5 years, every time that I am out I always get asked who does your hair. Now you would think people are just being nice, just ask you but never show up, it has been false with this girl. Every time I see Miriam she tells me «oh thanks for referring such and such to me, I guess you met her at Target» or somewhere random.
I am asian with blonde hair, if any one is familiar with that, than you know how fast that blonde can become orange, brassy and nasty yellow. I tend to get really busy at times and can’t make the trip into the salon as often as I would like, but my hair still stays a nice blonde.
Not is only Miriam sweet but she really listens to what you are asking for and makes sure that you are both on the same page.
The salon is also fantastic, I love the décor, the staff are super nice and never intimidating. They have great products and have never ever been pushy or salesy.

Angela has been my stylist for over 2 years now. I won’t allow anyone else to cut my hair! She’s incredibly knowledgable and explains everything she’s doing, to give you a better grasp of how your hair works and doesn’t. You’ll leave Hairroin with more confidence and new ways to shape your look outside of the salon. I make the trek all the way from Culver City, but it’s worth every mile.
Atmosphere is super chic. Each stylist practices what they preach. In other words, every single person in the salon has amazing color and/​or out of the box beautiful cuts. And nothing beats free coffee and water.

I dont really get haircuts and I tend to go months without even a trim, but everytime I decide to go for one, HAIRROIN Salon is the only place I go to. Was introduced to it by one of my sisters back in 2009 and never went to any other place since then. Viv is my go to girl here. She is amazing at what she does and now I am planning on gettjng my hair dyed for the first time. Guess where and with who Im booking my appt?
Definitely recommend this to every Angeleno in the hollywood area. Heck i moved to Pasadena and I still make the trip down to Cahuenga Blvd for a fabulous new and improve hair look.
Some might be use to chain salon prices or mom and pops places but I was always taught from an early age that you get what you pay for and I believe its worth every cent. Dont forget to tip your stylist either! If it wasn’t for their scissor skills, there would be no such thing as fabulous hair and addicting hair do’s.

I had been going to the same stylist for years, and kind of didn’t realize she was doing a bad job until recently. I just thought my hair had gotten frizzier as I got older. Then it occurred to me that I needed a «real» haircut (I.e. It should take more than 20 mins and, sadly, cost more than $ 40).
I had driven by Hairroin a bunch and decided to give it a shot, based on the good reviews. I was not disappointed!
I was able to get a lunch time appointment with only about 25 mins notice. The salon seemed busy, but not packed. Everyone was super friendly and attentive, I was offered a beverage twice.
My stylist, Miriam, did a fantastic job. From the wash /​scalp massage, to the cut, to the style, she clearly knew what she was doing and acted with knowledgable precision. She took her time and got it just right. And I’m super happy! It is pretty much exactly like the pictures I showed her.
I definitely recommend Miriam, and will be going back!

I was looking for a new hair salon in my area, and was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem on Cahuenga and Sunset in the heart of Hollywood. The décor is very eclectic and modern and it has a young feel to it, and indeed most of the clientele are 20s/​30s. Zach, my stylist, is the best! He’s very friendly and easy to talk to, and my hair looks great and very healthy after my appointments with him. He’s definitely got a new, loyal customer!
Notes: parking is a pain because there is no free lot, so you’re at the mercy of the meters, unless you fork out the ten bucks to park in one of the little lots in walking distance.
The prices for your services at the salon will vary based on what «level» your stylist has achieved — a system I don’t really understand, and is not explained on their site, but whatever. I pay $ 90 for my simple wash/​cut/​dry and my stylist’s level is «senior.»
They send you convenient email reminders or your appointment, as well as some special offers and such, if you are interested in deals on certain services. One thing they offer every Friday is $ 40 blowouts.

My hubby came for a cut and it was amazing. Mateo worked magic.
We had called ahead and made an appointment. We came in a bit early and checked in. The receptionist offered us a drink. We didn’t have to wait long.
They were pretty busy with every stylist working away. I liked the layout of the salon and it had a great vibe. Very fun and welcoming

What a wonderful experience at Hairroin Salon, thanks to my stylist Mateo!!! The compliments I’ve received regarding my hair is endless, I feel like a million bucks. Thanks love!!!
Atmosphere/​Customer Service:
Upon entering the salon, I was immediately greeted by the friendly receptionist. Soon after, I was offered a beverage — water, coffee, tea, etc. The undivided attention given to each client is impeccable. Also, the salon’s décor is eclectic and the music is fun and upbeat.
Consultation:
After having a baby eight months ago, I’ve completely stopped taking care of my long black hair. I desperately needed a hair makeover! Mateo knows exactly how to transform my boring hair into a blondish beach ready hairstyle. I brought several pictures for hair inspiration. I loved that Mateo listened to my needs. He considered my hair length, texture, and lifestyle before suggesting the proper cut and color. With a thorough consultation, Mateo made me feel at ease and I definitely knew my hair was in good hands.
Quality:
Mateo suggested cutting my hair dry. Which is great because we both can see the shape as it’s forming. After the haircut, the fun started. Mateo mixed the color and literally painted the color into my hair. This process took several hours, but totally worth it! Even though the process is long, Mateo constantly checked on me to make certain I was comfortable. After achieving the color I wanted, Mateo gave me the best hair wash and scalp massage. He took his time and was very patient. During the blow out, Mateo gave me tips on how to properly blow dry my hair and easy to do hair styles.
Needless to say, I’m very pleased with my experience at Hairroin Salon and I would recommend Mateo to my family and friends. Or anyone that needs a hairstylist.
