I’ve been seeing Lauren for a couple years for color and cut. Always leave extremely satisfied! I recommend her to all my family and friends. Love hair mechanix and Lauren!

I made an appointment with Lauren a few weeks ago and I came in for cut. She squeezed me in when I was desperate! I found the salon on here and called and she happened to have time for me! I was even late for my appointment cause I got super lost and I called and she waited for me… I somehow ended up all the way in Watts by mistake and she waited for me to get there and was super patient while I was trying to find it.

I’ve been going to see Alex for 8 years! He is the best! A solid dude with great skill. People always ask who did my cut. So you know he’s good! and when he washes your hair he massages your skull when he rubs in the shampoo. Feels rad.

So… I purchased a groupon for a cut with Lauren Goodman four days ago and made my appointment via text message.
Our conversation regarding the appointment ended like this:
Me: Am going to check on something, but pretty sure I can make 3PM.
Lauren: Okay! Just let me know thanks
Me: Thanks, Yes, I definitely can.
However, when I arrived on Saturday at 3PM, and told her I had an appointment, she rolled her eyes and said yeah, um, you never got back to me. I explained calmly that I sent a text saying yes, I definitely could make it. She claimed she thought this meant yes, I definitely could «let her know» I could make it, not that I could ACTUALLY make it. She shrugged her shoulders and said well, you can probably come in tomorrow.
Um, NO. I needed a cut right then. That was the plan. I was incredibly upset and finally wound up reaching another salon who could take me last minute, but it was across town and I wound up being late for my plans. Regardless, Lauren was super unprofessional and did not seem sorry or sincere in the slightest.
I cannot and do not recommend a business or a stylist that would treat a brand new customer with no value whatsoever. SUCH a ridiculous experience.

Lupe de la Vega has been my stylist for 20 years. She truly listens to her clients and she is a colorist par excellence. She really knows her business and also shows personal care and attention. I always leave feeling beautiful with a hair cut and color that will last me several months (I have long hair). She is the best and I don’t even consider going elsewhere because I know I will leave her satisfied and gorgeous!

After having a hair disaster done to me by another hairstylist, I was searching for someone to fix it ASAP. I was talking to my nail lady which is literally right next to the salon and she said Alex from next door does good work. I checked the reviews and booked my appointment. Omg Alex literally fixed the hot mess I was dealing with. My hair started off being patchy and rainbowish to a nice even ash blonde color with natural looking hi lights. I’m very picky and I must say he did an amazing job! I’ll add pictures. I also really liked the atmosphere of the salon and the owner and the other hairstylist made me feel very welcomed.

This review is for Lupe, the most outstanding hairstylist in LA. Lupe spends as much time as is necessary to achieve the perfection I only sought in the past but never got. My color came out vibrant and exactly the nuanced shades I wanted. My haircut is both stylish and easy to maintain.

This is a long overdue review! I have been going to Hair Mechanix for almost 7 years. I have been to Milica for years and then started going to Alex after Milica was off for a while. They both are wonderful at cutting long hair. I am super sensitive about getting my hair cut because in the past, when I have asked for just the ends trimmed, I ended up with way shorter hair which took a few months to grow back into the length I preferred. Both Milica and Alex know what it means to trim JUST THE ENDS. :)
I finally decided to do something different with the color of my hair so Alex did a really nice reddish/​burgundy and I loved it very much! Unfortunately, I’m too lazy to keep up the color and my original color was easy for me to maintain so I went back to it, but he did an amazing job and I have always been really happy any time I have had my hair done.
I also turned my boyfriend onto Alex and he loves his haircuts. He had the hardest time finding someone he liked, but he only goes to Alex now. :)

Lupe has been my husband and my hairstylist for over 27 years! She is Awesome! Very considerate and super sweet! She is always up to date with the latest hairstyles and hair colors! I have recommended her to friends who have been very happy with their results!

I have been getting my hair done by Lupe of «Hair by Lupe» at Hair Mechanix for over 10 years. Lupe truly cares about her clients and always does a great job. I trust her and would recommend her to anyone.

I bought a lifebooker to try out Hair Mechanix. I left a message last week and have tried to call this week. The mailbox has been full the last couple of times I’m called. And I can’t find an email. Kind of odd.

I’m very picky when it comes to my hair. Every time Alex cuts and colors my hair, I never leave disappointed. He’s not one of those stylists who will just do whatever they want to your hair because they know better. He listens and gives you what you want/​need so you leave happy. He has changed my color and got so many compliments. I’ve had it for a couple years now. Go see him! You will not be disappointed!

I’ve been seeing Alex for a cut and hi lites for about 10 years, so this review is long overdue! I have long wavy hair, and I love how he cuts and colors it. In fact, the greatest compliment that I can pay him is that I bring my mother, my husband, and my 2 children to him as well. He doesn’t do just one type of hair– everyone in the family is different, and they always leave him looking good! His prices are reasonable as well. Call him for an appointment– you won’t be disappointed!

Thanks to Alex I can face my messy mane every day with a smile. I have problem hair and he always gives me a cut that makes it easy to manage– especially because I don’t get to make frequent trips here.
9 of my friends also get their hair cut by Alex! Sometimes he let’s a few of us come together and stagger appointments so we can have a friendly get together while we primp. Doesn’t get much better than that!
Parking has never been a problem either.

Alex is great, personable and has a real eye for what kind of ‘do suits you. I never know what the heck I should do with my hair and I despise maintenance (blow-​drying etc). I feel confident that Alex can take that in stride and give me something with more style than I’d get anywhere else that requires little to no tending. :) He’s an awesome guy to talk to as well, which makes the time in the chair fly by. Parking in the little lot in the back is tight, but I’ve never had an issue with finding a spot there or on the street.

Melica has been doing my hair for almost 15 years now, …I WOULDN’T TRADE HER FOR ANYONE… she even does my kids. WE LOVE HER TO PIECES, SHE“S THE BEST!!! We’ve had Alex in emergency cases… he is extremely AWESOME too ;) .& with this frizzy/​curly hair it is hard to find anyone who can do a good job with blow dry and style… Alex is totally the man in that department !. =)
We love hair mechanix… they are the absolute best, on top of excellent with hair. they are all excellent people inside and out… YOU GUYS ALL ROCK!!!
