H&R Block

I searched on Unilocal!for the greatest H&R Block possible as I had never done my taxes before and was completely confused about the whole process.
The H&R Block on sunset and la brea was great. Everyone from the front desk lady to the gentleman who whizzed through the process we more than helpful.
I gave it a ⁴⁄₅ as the man doing my taxes didn’t tell me about the extra charge to get my refund directly deposited which i was disappointed about.
He also sped through a lot of stuff I could have gained knowledge from.
Other than that, quick and painless.

Like most people, I dislike doing my taxes. This year, I decided to treat myself right and get them done by someone else so I headed over to the H&R Block. The time went fast and the gentleman who worked on my return (Jeff Finifter) was absolutely amazing. Jeff was very efficient, friendly, and respectful of my time… also got me a great return! I will be back next year!!!

Well, I’m new to filling taxes and thought I need some professional help. Everyone knows h and r block and also I’ve been told its cheaper than other places.
So I went there and pretty happy with my experience. Especially it was nice that my agent Ksenia (hopefully spelled her name right=)) not only was helpful but also gave some really good advises related to taxes, thanks!

This was the 4^th year I’ve gone to Cynthia at this location for my taxes. I can’t even begin to tell you how thorough this woman is. She is not only kind, patient and attentive, but she is an educator and is willing to explain how my decisions throughout the year effect my results. Never in my life did I think doing my taxes would be something I’d look forward to, but Cynthia will have my business for many years to come. She makes the experience rewarding and pain free.
Parking can be a little tricky and the privacy is certainly lacking — hearing other peoples financials and other advisors coming over to chat was a bit disconcerting — but my experience with Cynthia is professional, confidential and overwhelmingly positive. I couldn’t be more thankful for her wisdom and patience.

I had an interesting time filing my taxes this year. I have filed with H&R Block for the past 5 years so I’m used how things should go. I called for an appt at this location on Sunset and La Brea which I’d never been to before but it was the closest to me this year. They could fit me in that afternoon. I went in and was greeted by a lady who I assumed was the front desk staff because she was not dressed professionally (casual skirt and top, mess hair), while the other women were dressed in business casual. She let me know that Jenifer booked me and then asked me to sit. Then after a few minutes she was confused about my appt and had to take my information again (DOB, last 4 of social) since apparently Jenifer had «lost it.» Then she welcomed me back to a cubicle without introducing herself. I wasn’t sure what was happening so I asked, «Oh are you going to help me then?» and she answered yes and that Jenifer was busy but that she was able to take me on. «Oh ok, what’s your name?» I asked, «Is it Victoria?» I asked reading her name tag. She responded, «No my name’s Theresa, I’m just wearing her name tag because she took mine.» Ok… weird but whatever. So I was friendly and we spent about an hour together. At times I felt a little uncomfortable because Theresa seemed unsure of what she was doing and had to back track a lot. She finally called Jenifer over to help her figure out what to do with a form I brought that documented my grad school tuition. Theresa also couldn’t clearly answer questions for me. She also couldn’t tell me why she didn’t have a desk and why the desk we sat at had other people’s business/​name cards. She talked a lot but not about important things regarding my understanding of my taxes mostly about herself and random stories about other customers. Anyway, we finish and I take a look at the front desk and was relieved to see Theresa did have a business card after all. When I left she leaned in to hug me and I felt uncomfortable doing so but I did anyway and I don’t mean to be rude but her body odor was fairly strong (it was a hot day). Weird experience over all. I won’t be returning to this location. I’ll probably go back to the location I went to last year or just try another one next year.

Second year filing my taxes with H & R Block. Last year filing was a great experience with Lana K. Keep in mind my fees last year were $ 39. However, this year I negotiated with store manager Jeff S. Finifter on a fair fee of $ 80 to complete my taxes. Nothing changed from last year as far as the tax filing. Anyway, Two different times Jeff said he would be in the office, he was never there. No one knew the status of my return. Jeff finished my taxes on April 15^th at 3pm. This is the deadline with the IRS. When I went in to sign papers and pay, my rate went up from $ 80 to $ 452.00. There were no phone calls made to me regarding a price increase. He knew what kind of filing had to be done when we first spoke. I have an open claim with Corporate and now looking for attorneys to resolve the issue. Long story short, taxes are still not filed. H & R Block are accountable for their employees actions and lack integrity. I will NEVER use their services again.

This was my 1^st year filing at H&R Block,. I called to make an appointment for this office the receptionist Mary was very helpful she explained everything i needed to bring in and told me about something they were doing this year called 2^nd looks, i brought my 2 year taxes in when filing for this years taxes. I was welcomed with a friendy smile & handshake, my taxes were done by Jeffrey Finfter who answered all my questions and concerns i had, he was very patient, after seeing Jeff i had my 2^nd looks done by Jennifer Celi and she was another very freiendly tax pro & explained my last 2 year taxes to me step by step. I left with a $ 400 dollar return and a very happy client that will be back next year. I recomend this office to anyone in the Hollywood area.
