All of our strings are hand wound by artisans with the finest materials. Our steel strings are all made with American Steel RoundCores.

History

Established in 1994.

GCS was founded by Francisco Gonzalez, an accomplished instrumentalist and founding member of Los Lobos. It was difficult to find quality strings for his Arpa Jarocha and that began the amazing journey of learning and developing for instruments that weren’t being catered to. From harp to guitar then to jarana and so forth. We now offer a large array of string formulations for these instruments and have helped dozens of luthiers and technicians with crazy ideas find the strings they need.

Currently our Guitarrón strings are considered the standard of quality in the industry and are highly sought after. Our roundCore electric strings are quickly growing in reputation for being the finest American made electric guitar string.

And it is all here in Boyle Heights, the heart of Los Angeles.
