Surprised to see this place is still open/operating under the ‘Green Door’ name, but I’ll review it as I remember, 5 years ago… Circa January 2008: ‘Blues in Green’ Tuesday nights was THE night to go. Not a fan of going out on the weekends, this was the perfect night for me to do my going-out of the week. The front, more narrow space of a room where you first entered had a bar in the back wall, and this was the smoking room. I normally rushed right through as I can’t stand smoke. I think it was an ‘open-air’ ceiling, regardless, I never spent any time in here. Back to the main room, where there was a chandelier and plush bench or high-back seating, this is where the action took place. The earlier part of the evening was dedicated to dinner, and although the seating was not the most comfortable for dining, we did what we could. It was akin to going to someone’s fancy house where you were barely permitted to sit on the couch/chairs, much less EAT. Ginger was my favorite server, and she always took care of me on subsequent visits. The ‘mixed fries’ are what I remember the most, especially the purple Peruvian and Yukon Gold variety while giving away the orange(sweet potato) to my friends. Once the musicians rolled in, plates were cleared and the lighting dimmed. Honestly, I’m not even a fan of blues/jazz music, but the live acts here were amazing. My absolute favorite performer was a man by the name of Deron Johnson. Mr. Johnson and his band, including Stewart Cole(of the band Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros-on trumpet), commanded the rooms attention when they would perform, especially when he did a rendition of ‘Manic Depression’ by Jimi Hendrix. Another favorite was ‘Every Little Thing She Does is Magic’ by The Police. Sadly I never got to see Prince as I heard he rolled in often but Deron and his band were definitely nothing to be disappointed by. I only wish there were still nights like this to enjoy in Hollywood, circa 2013…

Worst club I’ve ever been to. The bathrooms were filthy. Only two stalls in the ladies room. The floor was flooded with water. The seats were sprinkled with urine and, this is the best part, you had to ask the attendant for toilet paper. Why would you want toilet paper that someone else touched?!? This was even hard to do at times because the attendant was drinking AND watching a bootleg Tyler Perry DVD on her personal player. Aside from the horribly unsanitary bathrooms the place was filthy. Chandeliers were furry from dust and the dance floor was littered with napkins and drink garnishes, as well as lit cigarettes(yes, people were smoking indoors total California law violation). Décor was nice but the old photographs, while interesting, did not promote a party atmosphere I believe a club should exude. Overall terrible place. I hope to never return.

I have visit this club at least 4 times each time was for a birthday celebration. The first two times was okay no complaints that’s why when we went for the third time I looked forward to having a good time. The third time was kinda whack the chicks were sooo siddy and the bartender served water-down cranberry juice and vodka. I was skeptical about going the 4th time but as I stated it was for a birthday. But trust the 4th time was all of our first and last time. The guards outside was super EXTRA like total hollywood and I cant stand that. The chicks once again were FAKE as h$%, the drinks were an arm and leg just to be watered down. I mean at least dont over-charge for watered down bull sh(*) anywho my crew and I will not be back at that club for a very very long time. I gave the place two stars for the two days that we had a decent time, lucky the place got two stars smdh!!!

My expectations of this club were severely low. After getting denied from 2 clubs in Hollywood, my friends stopped here. They denied us too but after some bribing they let us in(aka bottle service). Now the only problem I had with their table service is that raunchy ass drunk ho’s kept sitting at our table. This loose bitches didn’t respect our space. –_– It got kind of annoying after awhile. And the woman attendant in the bathroom is the ABSOLUTEWORST. That old cow just sat on her ass and passed out napkins. I can get my own napkins you beast, didn’t need your service, but then she would complain about tips. SHEEXPECTED A TIP??? What the fuck, I don’t tip the napkin dispenser when I get napkins and I surly don’t tip the garbage when disposing of them so why the hell should I tip you ho. Well since she was a perfect blend of a garbage individual and a napkin dispenser I gave her a tip. BUTBEWARE she will ask you for a tip every time you go to the bathroom. She’s nothing modest. But other then that the club is really coo. The music is amazing.(I went on a saturday) And there was a copious amount of blk ppl here. I never seen a large gathering like this in hollywood so that was great. I had a blast minus the few incidents and wouldn’t mind coming back!

My worst clubbing experience in LA. I’ve known this club’s existence for a while because it’s next to the Cabana Club but never step foot in there until a friend decided to celebrate her birthday there. This place is only half the size as Cabana, one could see from one end of the club to the other in one glance. My first and LAST visit, mark that. Complaints: – Small dance floor that is greasy and slimy. – AC? What AC? Either it was broken or it is as weak as A-Rod without his steroids. – Flooding women’s bathroom was my last draw… and it wasn’t even a small flood around the stall. We’re talking the grand dam went loose soaking up the carpet kind flood. I have no idea what people were stepping on(Puke? Pee? Poop?) but I know for sure that it is my queue to get the fuck out ASAP.

I’m in the progress of reviewing 8 clubs/lounges: Greendoor, Cabana, Boulevard 3, Las Palmas, Central Hollywood, Kress, Avalon/Bardot, and Drais. I’ll go right ahead and say that Drai’s is the hardest to get in but also well worth it. It’s the top spot, it’s the place to be, and it’s well deserving of its fame. But alas, I’ll go ahead and make my reviews less fluff and to the point. Most clubs look nice in Hollywood, so the décor is fine in all of them and I won’t say much of that. Other than Drai’s $ 18 price tag on drinks, the rest are between $ 10÷12−14. The most important thing when going to a club is knowing the music and the diversity/majority of the crowd. So I’ll just point those out on the clubs. Green Door is no longer a diverse club, at least not on a SATURDAYNIGHT. It’s going to be mostly Hispanic, maybe 90%. It however, plays radio friendly music(Hip hop, top 100 etc) Check it out, it’s cool.

By far this is one of my favorite spots in Hollywood and I don’t say that often either. It’s right next door to the Cabana Club(which I am not a fan of!) — and it’s tuck away like it’s a secret joint. Parking — Across the street, the parking for the Arclight Hollywood is always cool to park at, however, once the club ends and everyone wants to get out the line to get out the lot is ridiculous!!! The alternative is street parking if you can find any and if you are confident that your car won’t get jacked, smashed, towed or what have you. Getting in – Short and quick line but you’ll pay $ 20 for cover regardless if you are a female or male(minus points) AND especially if you aren’t on the guest list. The Layout — When you walk in to the right there’s a hallway looking space with couches where I suppose all the smokers hang out and a DJ spinning some electronica/house tunes. If you walk straight ahead, you’ll be entering the main room — decked out in Victorian/Old English style motif! BECAREFULTHOUGH — it’s HELLADARK and the furniture blends in! So, watch where you are going. If you walk further back, there’s the big bar — it’s Hollywood so drink prices are expensive but it’s pretty stiff too! So, I guess I get my money’s worth =) Friday nights — the DJ plays your Top 40 sounds as well as some hip-hop beats and definitely gets the party crowd going. The crowd is mix and surprisingly I haven’t witnessed any EGOs going crazy!!! And for being Hollywood this is a blessing! Have fun! =)

Came here as in trying to get to Cabana Club but found myself liking the place and décor. I did get charged a cover(for it was midnight and it’s hollywood, when don’t they charge?) The crowd was so-so to good looking range, it was packed and everyone was dancing rather than being wallflowers. The drink minimum with a credit card was what bothered me, had to be a $ 20 min for you to purchase with a card or to open a tab… Not my highlight of the night :\ but the bartender put more alcohol than coke with my Jack so it was good. Place is chill in the end, would come back here but before 11:30 though…

Yep, I’ve read the crappy reviews but I have to say that our experience here was fantastic. We were lucky enough to be invited to a private party here last night. Everyone — valet, bouncers, servers and bartenders — were very, very friendly. I’m still on crutches and they went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and well attended to. We started with Merlot but then moved into champagne. :) hee hee hee The appetizers were yummy. The Coconut Shrimp was my fav. The shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly — you know those chewy over-cooked shrimp? These were not them! They also had chicken and shrimp wontons — pretty good. Bruschetta that smelled like roasted garlic — yum. And mini Kobe beef sliders that Honey fell in love with. Dinner for me was mac-n-cheese that was awesome. And red potato mashed potatoes — because one can never have too many carbs. :) Salad, sourdough rolls and a yummy ziti pasta with a smokey sauce was also piled on my plate. Everything was so good! Honey went for a steak and he said it was so smooth it was like butter. The mashed potatoes were his fav. For dessert, we had mini lemon tarts and white chocolate éclair puffs. Perfect! The atmosphere is posh and the music had a jazz/blues vibe. It was a great evening all the way around!

Before I go into the details, let me just say that this is my first 1-star review. The breakdown: Ambience/Décor: 4⁄5 Vibe: 3⁄5 Dance Floor: 2⁄5 Clean: 3⁄5 Venue Rating: B– The venue looks like a scaled down version of a Victorian-era mansion. It is dimly lit, and provides a cozy atmosphere. It is not a big venue, and the middle-area(can’t quite call it a dance floor) is small. It is really more of a lounge than a club. Not a great place if you like to dance. Also, they do not keep the bathrooms clean. Location: 4⁄5 Parking: 2.5÷5 Wait: 2.5÷5 My Convenience Rating: B– The venue is located in the prime Hollywood area. Valet parking is $ 20, and parking structure is $ 10. Don’t even bother trying to look for street parking, you won’t find any. Carpool. Mixed Drinks: 2.5÷5 Shots: 4⁄5 Beer: 2.5÷5 My Drinks Rating: B– The drinks are typical as with most Hollywood bars. Nothing fancy, yet expensive. They do not serve specialty cocktails, and there is not a whole lot on tap to choose from. Mixed drinks and shots are $ 12-$ 16 and beer is $ 6. Expect to wait anywhere between 10 – 20 minutes for your drinks. Waitress: 3.5÷5 Bartenders: 1⁄5 Manager: 1⁄5 My Service Rating: F With the $ 20 cover charge, one might expect to be treated well. This is certainly not the case with the Green Door. I understand that bouncers must do their job, but once inside, you are a customer. We had reservations for the VIP area, 6 bottles, and have around 20 people in our group. After a long wait, we were squeezed in two tables, not in the VIP area. I have been to just about every bar in the Hollywood area, the service at Green Door is probably one of the worse. I will explain this later. Pros: — It’s a venue to check-out for people who are new to and like to explore the Hollywood party scene. — If you’re young and getting into a lot of drama and trouble is part of the experience, this is the venue for you. Cons: — Nothing upscale about this place besides the décor. — Bartenders who feel entitled to tip regardless of their attitude. — Expensive drinks. — Small dance floor. Note: One of the bartenders came to our side of the bar to start a fight with one of my friends because we decided not to tip him for his attitude. Then he tried to call security to come kick us out. We explained the incident to the security, that we were VIP customers, here to celebrate a friend’s birthday, not here to start a fight. The bartender came across to the other side of the bar to start a fight with us. It was still early in the night and none of us were even close to being drunk. The security had us talk to the manager. When the manager came, the first thing he told us was«You, don’t talk. My bartender talks first.» He acted like a thug in a suit. After we explained our end of the story, he did not apologize. He said, «So, how do you want to settle this.» Bottom Line: I will never return to this bar.

I’m starting to think that clubbing in Hollywood may not be my thing. The dance floor– or the tiny area in the middle– is really very tiny. The mood inside is very cozy but feels more like a lounge than a club. I know club experiences really reflects mainly on who’s throwing the party but my experience at Green Door is really just meeeh. It’s a club people! Start dancing! One of my personal pet peeves is when people go to the club, stand in the MIDDLE of the dance floor for 5 minutes and decides to push their way through. Why go clubbing if you don’t want to dance?! Also the DJ played old school music– I’m talking about so old school that I can’t even recognize the songs. The crowd seems to be a bit snooty– men in Ed Hardy and girls looking a little plastic. You won’t be finding me back at Green Door anytime soon – definitely not where the party’s at!

I came here on July 4th to celebrate my friend’s 21st. Her birthday is on the 5th. Thing is, they were raided last week, so they made her wait until midnight. That sucked for her, but once she got in, we had some shots and I had myself a good time. I’m a complete lightweight and rarely drink, so 2 shots of goose and an Adiós guaranteed me a good time. I didn’t think it was that strong(but my friend did). As always, I felt out of place when I first walked in, but that didn’t last too long. I had fun. It’s been way too long since I’ve danced this hard and been this into it, so cheers to the Green Door. I was hoping that I’d be able to check out the Cabana Club too, but seeing as how we got there late and it was already past 12, it didn’t happen. A lotta lotta smokers up in here. When I first walked in, I didn’t get a club vibe from the place. It was really more of a lounge. It’s sort of a vintage feel with green drapes and chandeliers hanging from above. I couldn’t really tell what the place looked like until I took some pictures and looked at those. The crowd is decent looking and the girls are dressed pretty fly. They didn’t look cheap. My eyes were transfixed on the lone go-go dancer in the sparkling blue bra. It was funny because while my cousin and I were creepily watching her from the sidelines, I realized that we were the female versions of two guys to the right of us, also staring. $ 10 parking in a structure across the street. Girls can get in free before 10:30 or if you know a promoter. $ 20 otherwise

Blech. Barf. Ewww. Girls with fake tits in short shorts or long t-shirts with no panties. All the boys drool, but the real men know — this is SHIT. Who wants plasticity in their world? Not I. The décor is cool but the real singular star is for ladies’ bathroom attendant Connie. She tells it like it is.

Wow, I have a story I need to tell every single person that wants to go to this place. I went here yesterday night on Saturday and it was packed with people. I got there around 12:30 and inside the club within15 minutes of waiting but it was $ 20.00 to go inside. Ok that was fine with me but when we passed the guy THEREWAS A BIGHUGEPILEOFFLUIDS on the ground… It was literally something that we weren’t able to avoid. That wasn’t the worst part yet… when my friend wanted to go to the girls bathroom we went to find it and it was clogged up with one of the toilets leeking out sewage water. This place was flooded and to get to the girls bathroom you would literally have to step into this pile of water. I was so disgusted by this I only bought one drink and did no more and while walking around there was lots of piles of water and it was just gross because your walking in heals and you feel some type of liquid that you have no idea what it is. The bathroom stuff was gross though and I will NEVER, NEVER, EVER go here. There needs more people to clean up messes like that. I couldn’t believe it really. I thought I was in some third world country. With all this sewage everywhere.

I’ll admit that this is probably a shady review because it is, after all, one that I am attempting to recollect from NYE. I’m going to go the pro-con route for this one. Here goes: PROS -$ 60 on-line presale tickets not bad for NYE –coat check –a giant layout of interesting rooms: an ornate bar area, a bridge over water, outdoor patio area –good music CONS –4 stalls in the ladies room of this big club… what’s new –it was 0 degrees out toward midnight and my memory counts one heater –the barf patrol took tonite off. I watched a girl standing in a little nook near the coat check puking for good 10 minutes. –poor champagne distribution. Where was mines? –not the most sophisticated crowd, although one fight that broke out was self-contained and some classy babe bitched about me spilling my drink on her when it was really the girl in front of me, I swear! I wouldn’t mind checking this place out again, starting off in a more sober state, and perhaps being able to dance in less of a pool of spilled alcohol whilst kicking balloons and empty plastic champagne glasses. But for now this place gets 3 stars, because I’m still teetering on the brink of whether or not it’s a good thing that I remember anything.

I’ve been here on Thursday and Saturday. This place is $! On Thursday there’s a guestlist, search Google and you’ll find some promoter’s Myspace — msg them and you’re golden. On Saturday — get there early(b410pm) to avoid the line. It is a tough door! They will make you wait even though it’ll be empty inside. Really nice inside, you can chill on the patio w/your peeps or dance inside. Would definitely go back.

This place gets 4 stars just for the music alone!!! My god, whoever their DJ is on Thursday nights needs a raise, because that DJ is amazing!!! I don’t think they played one bad song here that night, and every song made you want to dance your little heart away. You couldn’t help but want to sing along or shake your butt just a lil’ bit heh And the décor of this place I absolutely love! Such a nice change of pace from the pubs and other run down bars and clubs in hollywood. Nice chandeliers hanging from the ceilings and huge curtains of green fabric decorating the walls and giving this place its name — it is the green door after all! And they have the plush velvet couches from those old movies like Gone with the Wind and Pollyanna that just make you feel classier than you really are ha ha. I totally agree with Sarina Z(yes a compliment to you is on the way! ah) and say that this place is like an upscale Haunted Mansion and you just feel like you aren’t in Hollywood anymore when you are inside. You need to be on a list to get in here, but if you can, it is good crowd, with good ambiance and great décor. And they have a couple pretty hot bar tenders too! Thanks to the one who recognized my friend(since she dated his brother in the past) to giving us a round of free drinks!!! Because the drinks here are about $ 10 each if not more and not all of the bar tenders make them equally as strong, so choose your poison wisely!!! Oh ya and don’t expect everyone to be smart here… because it seemed like the typical«hollywood» crowd, but those are always fun at bars I think! ha ha

Went to Green Door last week for a Fashion Week event. It was… ok. The decoration compared to other venues in Hollywood is not the best. The place itself is a good size… 12 dollars for a glass of Merlot? Oh my god! I can buy a great imported Rioja at Bevmo for 10 bucks! This really pissed me off… The only good thing about the place that would make me «consider» coming back was the music. They play a little bit of everything which is better than hearing Britney Spears and Rhianna all night long. :)

I sauntered into this well-guarded…let me emphasize that… WELL-GUARDED…fortress of a club on a Friday night to see a screening of a friend’s web series, and I have to say, kind of a cool establishment lingers behind that ivy-covered façade. If you pass the tough guy at the door, and really, don’t even try lest you have a reservation or he’ll send your mini-skirt wearin’, tight black shirt sportin’ bootie right back in the other direction… like I was saying, if you pass the tough guy and gain entrance, you’ll find yourself in a classically dark haven akin to something you would find in NYC. The place evokes a velvety richness and exudes a sort of sexiness without much effort. They lose a star because I came starving… STARVING…thinking that since I had read up on the place and saw it was indeed a restaurant, they they would be able to accommodate my rumbling stomach with a measly bite at the bar. Alas, no such luck. Don’t come hungry unless you have a reservation for a TABLE because they don’t serve anyone at the bar. Rolling eyes here. Luckily, a few friends of ours, also there for the screening, were kind enough to offer us a seat with their party where I was able to partake in nourishment and wine. If I could offer 20 stars for food… I would. Maybe not for everything, but for the Truffle Mac N’ Cheese… oh my GOD, cream my jeans yummy goodness. I swear, every bite of that made me want to jump the bones of every passing man! The halibut came highly touted… well, the waiter seemed to be all orgasmic over it and kept talking it up, so we got it as well. And yes, it was pretty darn good and I highly recommend it… but not as much as that $ 12 Mac N’ Cheese. I even went online at home to try and figure out how they made it… complete with those shaved garlic croutons! The exterior of the bar was also quite sexy… a moat of crystal blue water ran it’s way around the bar. Fascinating. My only complaint was that my friends had rented the back area so that they could show their flick and somehow, the bar didn’t care and apparently it was Asian Night with drink specials… lots and lots of people. Which is fine, not knocking anyone… it just wasn’t for me on that particular night. I felt like a Unicorn… a mythical blond creature in a forest of darkness! lol So I would check with them to find out what goes on on which night and pick that night according to how you want to spend it! I was just more interested in the screening and less in the giant throngs of scantily clad women pushing their way by me, around me, in front of me, etc. :)
