The food was not horrible but it wasn’t great. I felt as though the rice was undercooked and some of my chicken had sweet and sour sauce and some didn’t. When I placed my order I was not asked whether it was to dine in or to go and the lady at the register seemed upset when I asked to dine in. I don’t think I will be returning, don’t really have a reason to.

This place should just close immediately. Such a sad excuse for a restaurant. First off the rude lady who took my order was to concerned about taking my money and getting my rice selection that she couldn’t even answer my questions about the menu. Then she wants to give me back less than the correct change because the register does not have enough change. They have soda machines but they do not work and they do not let you know. They are just pouring a can in a cup if you order a soda. I ordered Kung Pao chicken which turned out to be chicken with onion and teriyaki sauce. The worst part however was that the chicken was so obviously cooked in a dirt pan. The black grizzle of old cooked and recooked sauce coated the chicken. I am almost speechless at how bad the food was.

This place is a major disappointment I won’t be coming back here and giving them any more of my money/business the lady that works here is so rude when she charges you she tells you give me $ 6 dollar now she is a very demanding lady the other day she short changed me by 10 dollars I had gave her $ 20 but she said no I didn’t that I had gave her a $ 10 at first I like it and after that it started getting worse with service wise food is good though just the service sucks really bad

The last time I came here, it was in 2010 because we moved far. I decided to come back to visit Irene. Nothing changed. Fast service and the prices are still the same. $ 4.15 for a lunch combo. I always get the chicken string bean or szechuan chicken.

If no stars were an option… I ordered orange chicken about a years ago and let me tell you. It was the nastiest food I have ever eaten in my life. It was just plain old NASTY. Then, I decided I’ll give the chicken fried rice a try(a few months ago). NOPE!!! It was also nasty as hell. The rice was a burnt orange color, the egg was burnt and the chicken was gummy and bland. So, on to the final straw. I went yesterday thinking I can give the lady another try. I figured I’ll just ask her to use fresh grease and not fry my rice and egg so hard and also cook my chicken thoroughly. I walk in, order my food, paid the lady and then asked her in a very niver manner to please not overcook the rice and she yelled at my and refused to service me. On that note, I will never ever walk into this place again. I mean, I gave this place chance after chance after chance and was not once satisfied. I mean, she had the nerve to get an attitude. Lady please, they need to shut that place down. The food doesnt even look edible. Girl bye! Try at your own risk.

I know this place well because I discovered them on my own. They my hairdresser moved to a studio in this strip mall so I have also passed by the establishment many times. I like the food. Its fresh, and Irene, is super kind. Its my favorite chinese food in LA. In fact, the Sea Food and Vegetable platter is my usual ordered item.

If I could give this f’n place no stars I would. Ordered sweet and sour chicken… who makes S&S without any pineapples and green peppers. the sauce was super sour and not sweet and white rice was burnt… after 2 bites I asked to send it back… the female«owner» was SUPER nasty to me… I have never been talked to by anyone in a restaurant like that before… had she not come at me like a crazy fool I might have agreed to pay for that crap… told her to kiss my black ass and walked out… RUNFROMTHISPLACEWITH A QUICKNESS. WTH? no sorry no nothing! Worst place ever!!!

It has been over a year and a half since I decided to go into and order«food» at this hole in the wall«restaurant,» and I cannot get the lingering memory of the horrible and inedible attempts at Chinese food prepared thereafter. It is likely the only place where I have walked away, deeming it a loss of time and money while losing my appetite as well. Initially, I walked into the place because I am a fan of root beer. This place advertised an odd brand on tap, but all they had was A&W in a can. I let it slide. When what they called orange chicken landed on my table, the sauce tasted like a citrus air freshener and the ‘meat’ was grease soaked batter burnt to a crisp. I immediately spat the entire culinary abomination out. When I talked the owner/server, not only was she not surprised, she could care less. I told her that this food unfit for human consumption… Honestly, I would not feed that gruel to an enemy.

The hot and sour wor wonton soup is soooo good. I understand why other people don’t like this place but I promise you won’t be disappointed if you like a great soup! I also like their lo mein, rock cod with black bean but I would stay clear of the shrimp and lobster sauce. I order it a lot and I don’t like theirs at all unfortunately. Be prepared to get a TON of food. It’s great for large families. Delivery is good but depending on time takes awhile. Wish they were open a bit later.

This is the WORST Chinese restaurant I’ve ever the misfortune to eat. I can’t see how anyone reviewing this restaurant would give it more than 1 star. I came here only because it was local and dirt cheap, and regretted it after putting the first bite of «food» in my mouth. Everything tastes like it was put in a microwave and all of it is swimming in soy sauce. The meat was all soggy and also dripping in soy sauce. My friends and I asked for hot tea, assuming it would be free because it’s a Chinese restaurant, and she ended up charging individual prices per person for it. I ended up spending $ 7, when I originally intended to only spend $ 4 because of hidden costs. There was nobody else in the restaurant the entire time my friends and I were there and I’m not surprised. I’m astounded this place is still in business. If you want good Chinese food in the area, go to Chyun King! Their lunch special is only $ 6.95 and includes soup, egg rolls, wonton, rice and an entrée. I could have gone there for the same price as Golden Lotus but gotten food that tastes 1000000000x better

Honestly I don’t believe ANY of the reviews with any stars over one. I’m not sure I’ve ever had food so bad before. They seem to cook EVERYTHING in the same burnt sauce. EVERYTHING has the same burnt flavor — everything tastes exactly alike… which is AWFUL.

Disgusting. The rice looks and tastes burnt. The House Chow Mein has to be the most disgusting entrée there. All bad. Should be shut down immediately!

I came here once, and never came back. I should have turned around when I saw the«C» sign outside. I am usually OK with Chinese restaurant that looks like prison lunchroom as long as their food is good, so I decided to try. When I went there around noon, there was no customer but myself.(Another reason I should have just run back) The restaurant smelled funny and the food had a weird taste and smell… kind of like chlorine. It is my personal experience and I see some like this place. But if I were you, I will avoid going there.

I went once, and that’s it this place was so bad I didn’t need to try it a second time. The food it terrible. I got orange chicken and I can’t even describe how terrible it was! The place doesn’t accept cards and when I was in there the entire middle school next door came in. Save yourself the trip.

Mainly for bargain hunting lunch crowds, this place is where the food wants to be rescued. They drown all the food here in either a) «house brown sauce» or b) soy sauce. Your food is completely covered in one of the 2 sauces and with plenty still flowing at the bottom of your plate. Everything looks brown because they cover they food in these sauces. When Panda Express is an upgrade compared to this, you know you are in trouble.

THISFOODSUCKS. I am eating it right now, and I keep eating it, only because I am back at my desk at work and do not have the time to go get something else. Kung Pao Chicken is BLACK? WTF? Its not Kung Pau, its BURNEDPAU. Not the chicken, the chicken seems to be ok, its just the sauce. Yes, they burned the sauce. So the lunch special was cheap. Who cares. I asked for chili sauce and was charged .25 cents for it. I figured, ok, cheap lunch special, I can afford to pay for it. The only real positive — you don’t need the chili sauce — They advertised the Kung Pao as spicy(as it should be) and it was. It doesn’t taste like Kung Pao though, it just tastes like leftover Chinese crap… Too bad I don’t work closer to Green Tea House with their good food, and $ 5 lunch specials that include the same large portion, plus an eggroll, a wonton, soup, and no extra charge for fried rice!!!

… in a hunt for good chinese food close by, we ventured to golden lotus. there were no customers during prime dinnertime… uh oh… but we ignored and ordered anyways: sweet and sour chicken + side of white rice(Wtf, dinner doesn’t come with rice?) and satay beef chow mein. food was ready within 10 mins and we headed home excited to chow down on some chinese in front of the tv. i opened up the chow mein… why does it look like panda’s chow mein noodles? i expected thin egg noodles nicely fried so that is crispy… i got noodles that make panda’s chow mein gourmet. ugh. the satay beef was a joke. pieces of beef fried with the crap chow mein with some satay sauce instead of oyster sauce. not worth the 5 bucks i paid for this — i much rather go to panda and get a satisfying panda bowl. ok let’s try that sweet and sour chicken… looks decent but then you pop a piece of chicken in the mouth and it all crumbles. ugh. the outside batter is now soggy and the chicken inside is bland. the sweet and sour sauce which is drenched into the chicken is bland and tastes watered down. pineapples + peppers + onions which accompany the chicken taste like cardboard. and the white rice? yea it was fine. but a waste of my money since the entrée wasn’t edible. never again. not even to get the $ 4 lunch special they advertise… i rather starve.
