Fukurou Ramen

Decent food and quick service.
Parking in the back. Very adorable. Quiet little spot in between Hollywood and Los Feliz. 2 beers and a 1 sake for 10 bucks. Good service. food came fast, the place was pretty empty. Friendly, fast and tasty. Not really quite sure what else you want. I’ll be back.

We found this place randomly while looking for late night eats. Parking was difficult, but worth the extra time invested. The octopus appetizer was excellent, and the sea salt & butter broth ramen was perfect. Nice staff, great food, very reasonably priced… Like a beacon of light at 12:30am.

I got the vegetarian ramen combo. The fried rice was so flavorful. I wish I ordered just fried rice… until the ramen came. It was quite good.
They kept the ice green tea coming.
Staff was very nice and professional
Nice dim environment inside. It was very relaxing.

I first came here and tried the Tonkotsu ramen, gyoza, and teriyaki chicken special. While the ramen wasn’t necessarily lacking flavor, the broth wasn’t enough to my liking. I did enjoy the gyozas. Considering how close this place was I decided to give it another try. The buttered ramen seemed to be a favorite here and again, while it was more flavorful than the Tonkotsu ramen, I still left wanting more.
The service was ok, as is the décor. I liked the little owl light display they had on the wall. That was cool.
*Free parking is in the back. A bit tight, but better than roaming the streets.*

Was looking for something other than Thai food along hollywood blvd. It’s a clean and quiet restaurant with parking in the rear. Tried the combo#2 with the pork fried rice and gyoza the fried rice was the best part. Got the miso Ramen with extra tofu and bamboo shoots. Kinda didn’t see much extra tofu, the soup was a little bland but expected i put a lot of chili paste as that’s all they had and barely tasted it. The pork was tasty tho, and the gyoza was just barely over cooked and also not much taste. I heard my friends teriyaki chicken meal was also bland.
I like the prices but they don’t offer more than 2 choices on the broth and meat too.

This place was only okay. The food is mediocre and I had an annoying time placing my order. I originally placed an order via Unilocal (which I don’t recommend ever using) and the order never went through to the restaurant even though Unilocal gave me confirmation. That part I understand is Unilocal’s fault, not the business’s, but then I called them to place my order, which they don’t accept over the phone. I was really craving Ramen and this was the only nearby place that would deliver, which is why I stuck to it…
I then proceeded to place an order directly through Eat24, which went okay. I was bummed to learn they charge $ 5 for delivery on top of the tip I provided. The delivery was fast enough, but the guy parked at a business located next to my apartment building and requested that I walk to meet him in the rain. I didn’t and told him he could pull right up to the non-​busy curb where I was waiting in front of my apartment. He proceeded to do so, which was good, but then scolded me that the delivery was «so hard.» Not that it was, but maybe it should be a bit of a task if they’re going to charge $ 5 additional for the delivery!
All in all, this place is nothing to be excited about.

I have been to this place 2x now, once I ate there and the second time I ordered take out. I ordered the tankosotu (I think that’s how you spell it lol) and it was so delicious ! I love this place because their food is good and really great prices. When I had Dinner there I ordered one of their combos and it included the ramen, and 2 sides, altogether with my soda I paid around $ 13 which is not bad !
FYI if you check in on Unilocal you get a free order of endame!

The fried rice was great as were the dumplings. The ramen was over seasoned too much miso and we left half.

After a show at The Pantages, it was time for some late night eats. Fukurou is a little corner restaurant and when you turn into the back lot there’s a few spots for free. Pretty small lot though, I’m wondering if parking on the street right next to it was free. It looked like it was but I’m not 100% on that.
It smelled so good when we walked in, especially since we were ready to eat. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen for $ 7.95. My friend ordered the vegetarian ramen for $ 1 more. My party shared the takoyaki (5 pieces total) for an appetizer.
Portion size was great, it was enough that if you were to finish the broth along with the noodles you’d definitely have a full belly. The broth was not too salty. I can be picky with the chashu but I enjoyed this one. Some pieces were fattier than others so I passed on them… but it’s just a personal preference.
Belly of happiness, I’d say yes!

No frills like some other LA places (though they still have options including vegetarian) and no need to go to Little Tokyo for good ramen. I like this place, and think it’s (you guessed it) GREAT!

The people that make Fukurou Ramen are awesome.
You can taste their kindness in their simple yet scrumptious cuisine.
There is nothing better than an egg in the Shio Butter Ramen and a little hot sake in your belly. This combination is beyond comforting.
Smiles abound when I dine here with dear friends.
They cook their rice perfectly and refuse to share any cooking secrets with me.

I loved the free spicy edamame that came along with the check in! The ramen however was just okay. I have definitely tried better. I ordered the miso ramen. I am not sure if it’s supposed to be less in flavor, or they just made it really bland tasting. Or maybe because after eating the flavorful edamame, the ramen taste was brought down. My cousin ordered their tonkatsu ramen, and he said it was pretty bland too. So 3 stars for that.
The restaurant is really small, once I walked in they had a really strong distinct smell, but it went away after sitting there for a little while. The service is polite and sweet. No big complaints on that.
Overall, it was okay. I probably would not come back though.

This is a pretty decent and convenient ramen joint in Thai town. The prices are very cheap and the portions are very generous!
Mega kuddos for the way they arrange take out orders. We walked there and back and they packaged the ramen side by side sitting on a piece of cardboard on the bottom to make sure the two ramen containers don’t tip over and make a disastrous spill everywhere! The ramen is sure to make it home safely.
We ordered the spicy miso ramen and the shio butter ramen also spicy. I gotta say of the two, the shio butter ramen was right on the money. It was spicy and had this creamy slight taste of butter BUT did not feel heavy. I do wish my ramen was cooked a little bit more. Too hard for my taste but not enough to keep me away!

All I’ll say is that food was good but the service sucked. They kept trying to take all the plates before we could finish what was on them. Very pushy. Ruined my experience a bit. And the free plate of edameme for checking in was terrible. Maybe like 10 soy bean pods. Might as well not given us any. I am generally dissatisfied

Ramen is an ideal food for the day after a concert, and Fukurou Ramen was overall, a pretty good choice. The reason I can only give is 3 stars is because I really doubt I’ll ever eat there again if I’m in the area — I’m much more inclined to try any of the other many ramen spots in that part of L.A.
The main 2 reasons I chose Fukurou Ramen to take my friends to lunch to this past Saturday were the following: 1. good Unilocal reviews, and 2. a free order of edamame with a Unilocal check-​in.
When I checked in on Unilocal,showed our server, and selected the regular steamed edamame, everything seemed a-​okay. Until the server brought out the saddest, lamest order of steamed edamame I’ve ever seen in my entire life. This plate had 11, MAYBE 12 pods on it for a table of FOUR. Many of the pods were only a single soybean inside. I understand wanting to slim the portions for a free item, but that felt downright cheap and insulting. None of the four of us could help laughing. Edamame isn’t even expensive!
The ramen itself was fantastic. It was a bit of a challenge to order since one in our party has a peanut and nut allergy and it seemed like the server was not understanding us when we were trying to confirm which broths/​dishes were 100% peanut/​nut safe. Our friend was fine though :)
I had the shio butter ramen which was creamy and delicious. It warmed my soul.
Two friends had the tonkatsu ramen, the standard soy sauce base, and said it was delicious.
One friend had the vegetarian ramen with the tonkatsu broth (apparently the white miso is not nut/​peanut allergy safe? She wanted to be safe rather than sorry). She also greatly enjoyed her ramen.
We got a little impatient, having finished for a while before receiving our check (we had to ask for it). The entire time, we were the only customers in the restaurant. The food came fast but having to ask for our check was just another thing that was a little annoying after the edamame deal.
The food was great but this area has tons of ramen spots I’d sooner try than come back here — delicious food can only cancel out so much.

This was a nice ramen spot in the neighborhood. I like how they have ample parking in the back. The place was pretty small but cozy. We were greeted right away with menus. We read about the great $ 10 deal on Unilocal and wanted to check it out. I got the Choice B, which was any ramen (I got Tonkatsu ramen), 3 pieces of Pork Gyoza, and a small order of Pork Fried Rice. My bf got Choice A, which was any ramen (he got Shio Butter Ramen), 3 pieces of Veggie Gyoza (his preference), and a side of chicken teriyaki. Both were great combos for under $ 10!
The noodles were okay compared to other ramen spots that I’ve been to in San Diego and here in LA as well, like Silverlake Ramen. The broth in the Shio Butter Ramen was very flavorful. I loved the hint of buttery taste with each slurp! The Tonkatsu Ramen was alright when I ate it fresh from the kitchen, but it got better when I took the rest home, since the ramen flavor and noodles had time to marinade. The veggie gyoza and pork gyoza were delicious, and I like how it had a nice layer of crisp to it. The chicken teriyaki is as expected, nothing different, but still good. The pork fried rice was the highlight of my dinner. I loved the overall not too salty taste with the hints of ginger to give it a kick. I’ll probably order a plate of it next time.
If you want something quick and tasty late at night, that has a great parking spot and great deals, this is the place to go.

Fukarou Ramen isn’t bad.
The prices are super reasonable, $ 10 for a combo (ramen + teriyaki bowl + gyoza). Also, they have veggie ramen, that’s similar to Silverlake Ramen’s – making it a good alternative, especially if you don’t feel like dealing with the ridiculous wait time at Silverlake.
But… Fukarou Ramen isn’t all that great.
The broth is oily and saltier than I’d prefer. The noodles were really chewy. I thought it was just how they made them but after looking at a few other reviews I realized that it was because they were just overdone.
Lastly, there’s parking in the back and note that they’re open pretty late on the weekends!

Nice little find! Ramen was plentiful and savory. The ramen combo included pork fried rice and gyoza. All very tasty. The combo includes your choice of ramen. All for $ 9.95!
If you’re craving ramen and close by, you should give it a try. Highly recommend and enjoy! Happy eating fellow foodies!

I had hoped that this place would serve ramen after my heart… Walking distance from my place, it would’ve been my home away from home. No more high-​tailing to Little Tokyo for ramen after work. A gal can dream, right? Right!
When I walked in, I feel in love. It has that dive but friendly vibe, a place where you can read while eating and sipping on beer. Unfortunately, the ramen was below par for me. The broth was just blend. The noodles were overcooked.
The service was great. I was greeted with a smile, seated promptly, served food in timely manner and checked on multi-​times to ensure everything was okay. I hate giving this spot only three stars, but! I may give it another try to see if I was there on a «off» day.

Simple easy and quick ramen. Takes credit also. Combination is awesome!!! Around $ 10 for ramen of choice, fried dumpling, fried rice. Across from liquor stores.
Lucky its down the block! Wouldn’t compare it to other ramen places but its pretty good. The noodles are okay but the broth is pretty decent. Its a less fatty broth.
No lines. So great place to get some grub anytime its open.
