I think simple, good and cheap. It’s just right. You make your own taste happen.

This used to be a reasonably good lunch option inside the cheesy food court located on Wilshire between Fig and Flower. Now it sucks. They straight up added water to their teriyaki sauce(why, I do not know) to make it a liquid. This means your food is flavorless(isn’t the sauce the only reason I would eat a teriyaki bowl?) or soup. Now their $ 7 teriyaki bowls are beyond«blah»… with Fresh Grill out of rotation, this entire food court is pretty much useless. Is it obvious I am a bitter office employee pissed off the«food court» next door suuucks and I have to walk a block for decent eats?

I like coming here to get a cheap, easy, and quick bite for lunch. They specialize in offering a number of teriyaki meat & rice combo plates and bowls. Today I ordered the half & half bowl to go. Service was quick, maybe a 3 – 4 minute wait at max. For $ 6.35, you get a huge order of grilled chicken, marinated beef, & green onions which are served over about an inch thick layer of white rice. The onions(optional) are tasteless, although the beef has a juicy marinated flavor, even without taking into consideration the teriyaki sauce. The chicken is a bit charred on the outside, though tender on the inside. The meats aren’t greasy like a lot of other rice bowls I’ve had in the past — they grill the chicken and beef on the premise. Finishing off the bowl was almost a challenge, let me say that you get a pretty decent bang for you buck. This is a good spot to hit up for lunch M-F, though I do not believe it’s open on the weekend, since the entire building that houses it and some other eateries is closed Saturday & Sunday.
