If you’re thinking of getting balayage highlights done — Enrico is the one! I’ve been coming here for almost 3 years and at first I was hesitant about getting my color done here because of the cost. However after getting balayage highlights put in and then color on top of that (double process treatment) — my hair looked amazing. As in random people stopping me in the street to compliment me on my color.
I space out my color appointmens to only 2 – 3 times a year because it is pricey, but worth it. The re-​growth is really natural looking because I have dark hair. The balayage style also looks more natural. I used to have very distinct hair stripes from foil highlights and now that I’ve seen the difference, I’ll never go back to that. Enrico is an expert, he’s been doing this for years and I think he’s one of the top colorists in LA.
Jerome really understands hair and has been doing my cuts. I decided to go back to bangs recently and he just shaped them perfectly to compliment my face. Because I have thick, wavy hair — he put in the right amount of layers to remove all that weight and gave me a look that I could easily style at home. I definitely recommend seeking out Enrico + Jerome!

This photo was from about a year ago but I decided to write a review just now. I had just moved to LA and was looking for a good hair cut place and I must say this was my first time getting a good haircut experience in the United States. When I went in, I was a bit nervous because I went in as a «hair model» for their haircut class on the weekend and they have a strict 3 – 4 inch cut requirement. However, in the end I trusted the stylist’s recommendation and was amazed at the results I got.

I’ve been coming here for about 5 years! I see Jacob and he is wonderful. Always does the best job cutting and styling my hair. He’s the best! He’s very personable and professional. He’s always on time. I’m in and out in an hour (I don’t color my hair, I only get cuts and blowouts). The salon is beautiful and the rest of the staff is very accommodating. This is the only salon that I trust and Jacob is the only stylist I trust. I love it here!

On Monday March 7, 2016 I went to Frederic Fekkai salon as their hair model for a live workshop demonstration. Prior to coming to the salon, I called and was told to park with their contracted valet service and with validation from the salon, it would be $ 5.50 instead of $ 12.
Today, I received a parking ticket in the mail for the location, date and time my car was with the valet attendant. There is another review on here regarding a Frederick Fekkai customer received a parking ticket while parking her car with the valet. Obvisously, this is not their first offense, and Frederic Fekkai salon choose to continue to do business with this valet service.

Best of the best. I’ve trusted my hair to Fekkai throughout the years & was blessed enough to be asked to be a hair model for their cut & color class. I was totally open and the instructors are the top of their game and very polished, so I totally trust their style and how they know what is on trend and in vogue.
I was fortunate to have my hair colored first and then have the haircut. The staff selected on this gorgeous hues of red instead of violet and the cut was a gration of some sort, something new and unique and framed my face well. The stylist even spent more time on me by giving me waves instead of a blowout and I was treated like royalty. They even went above and beyond giving me lemon water on hand as well as charging my iPhone.
Staff here is very thoughtful and gracious. I called to confirm my 2:00 PM appointment and to let them know I was parking and they’re so gracious and as soon as I came in, I went upstairs. Everyone here is so kind and fun to talk to and you can feel the passion that everyone has for their clients wanting them to look exceptional and chic.
This area is home to lovely boutiques that are very private and upscale, just the way I love it. I bond really well with the people here. I love and know who is here and who are the looky loos. Hint: some people (previous reviewers and the manager of Unilocal) try too hard…
I give Fekkai 10 stars for service, attention to detail, professionalism, and their world class reputation. I am their most loyal and biggest fan and they truly are the best in their business. I have taken my mom here and the staff know me.

I’ve had very good and average experiences here. Oddly, my best haircut was during the training session, but when I went back to see the same stylist, it was just okay. It’s a tad expensive but not too insane compared to Andy Lecompte. I had color here during training too, and that wasn’t so good either. Not the stylist’s fault! They were directed toward a different color by the director.

I love all the Fekkai salons but the one on Melrose Place is my favorite.
It’s really cozy, and Enrico is a master at color.
I always go to David for hair cut and what I love is that he always knows exactly what to do, without me ever having to worry.

I have been seeing Begona for my blond highlights for 9 years. It is so well done that my dance teacher stopped the class to compliment me when I walked in after having it «refreshed». She is so good that my hair is in excellent condition even after years of bleach. She will be very honest about what the chances are that you will have a good result based on your process history and the condition of your hair. if she cautions you against something trust her. She is an absolute professional. She runs on time and is just a delightful human being.

Do not go here if you want a good blonde color or value for your money!
I was trapped in this salon for 10 hours, 9am until nearly 7pm, to get some simple highlights. It took forever, and once they were done my roots were ORANGE. I was super upset and the stylist was trying to convince me that it looked good when clearly it did not. She failed to do her job and did a brassy mess that I still need to get color-​corrected by someone else. Not only that, but they still charged me $ 350.00 for it! Over three hundred dollars for a dye job that looked like it came out of a drugstore hair dye box.
I’ve been getting my blonde hair highlighted for almost 10 years, so I know what a good hair salon is AND what a good blonde is, and Fekkai messed it up hugely!
Furthermore, the staff at this salon made me feel uncomfortable. Very LA and snobby. Would not recommend. Go somewhere else for your money and time.

David, the Creative Director, is the best for haircuts and Henry gave me the most perfect balayage highlights! They are my dream team.

I have been going to Fekkai for years and even though it’s pricey it’s totally woth it! Best haircuts personalized for your shape and style. Coloring is also amazing especially for highlights. Also the products are one of a kind! Jacob is the best for haircuts

Due to scheduling availability, getting an appt. at the salon I started going to again in Jan. (a salon I used use for 7 years until 5 years ago), I Unilocaled salons I had some experience with and decided to call FF, specifically, Jacob. I’m more than happy I did! Not only did he do a great job, but he also explained things. My hair has been in grow-​out/​rescue mode from a wrecked «trim» last June and then color in Oct, so I had decided to cut a significant amount off. Jacob said it wasn’t necessary to go that short. He was right. The length reaches to the top of my armpit and I’ve been loving it! It looks classic and sexy while being easy to care for (I had been going exclusively to Drybar so my damaged hair would look good, but I can do it myself more, now). Had a fab color consultation while there and I feel like she «got» me without my even realizing there was a pattern to the color pix I showed her that I had gathered on my phone (thank you Pinterest, Google). I will be back, for sure! As well, everyone there was very kind and friendly to me. Per some of the negative reviews/​experiences, if there were issues, perhaps those reviews helped to up their game.

I will begin saying I was not serviced here. I was booked as a hair model and arrived early for the blowout. I have been a hair model at the NYC location which was great. Once I walked in half a hour early before the appointment to ensure service I could tel something was off. They did not look pleased. I have naturally curly hair which hello people a lot of people have. It was perfectly groomed, I did not arrive in knots or what have you.
I was told the workshop was small, um ok but I’m the only one here. Then I was told the stylist would ruin my hair. How are you saying that your stylist at a top salon can not blowout curly hair? Thats ridiculous.
Basically they did not want me there not to participate. I drove all the way and committed time. Not even with a sincere sorry or any thing. No product? No future service with your «experienced» stylists since apparently these stylists were horrible.
I was discriminated against because I have curly hair? I won’t even say what else I think. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service.

Enrico Pizzicarola was my colorist and he was amazing! He gave me balayage highlights. It turned out perfect! I wanted to be a light California blonde as I am already blonde and he gave me exactly what I wanted! I am so glad I found Enrico he is amazing!!!

Karen at Fekkai on Melrose Place is a color genius! She’s a true artist who’s honest and realistic with her consultation while methodical in her work. It’s as if each highlight was placed deliberately to curate the perfect look for each face and color completion. Try her once and you’ll be hooked like me!
Rita’s touch on haircuts and blow outs is just amazing! She considers your hair in every situation ie., down, up, blown out, air dried and realizes that most of us can’t style at home like she does as the pro and cuts accordingly to compliment your face as well as your lifestyle. In addition, her cuts get better and better over time! She’s also an absolute pleasure to work with you really can’t beat that combo.

I went in they were super sweet. My hair is so thick it usually takes me hours to get my hair colored and trimmed it was nice and quick and my hair had that Victoria’s Secret bombshell style :) you should all go!

Horrible horrible Experience-​Left in Tears after nearly 2 hrs. with NO HairCut AND NO Color!!! I Wish I could give them Zero Stars, the Stylist couldn’t even be honest to my face, the manager was NO Help and I had NO issue spending the $ 1k or $ 2 that this would have cost plus I needed products and color-​you would think she would want this business, but the one good thing was the 2 Stylists that were Actually trying to help, I think the woman’s name was Brianne-​So Thank You SO Much, you and the Champagne made it a but bearable :)

Last November, I had Jerome cut my hair. Hairmazing! Here’s the before and after. He didn’t thin my hair out, instead, he cut it so that the bottom is lightweight and didn’t weight me down. Most stylists go in and «thin» it out.
Place is inviting and it’s nice. Fancy nice. It can be intimidating but Jerome was really cool and attentive to what I want.

I refer to Jacob and Enrico as my «Dream Team’ bc they keep me looking my best.
I’ve been seeing them as a team ever since moving to LA three plus years ago from NYC and getting a killer commendation to go see them. They love women and are a 150% about making you look beautiful. What more can a you ask for, right? Worth every single penny. Love them!!!
Jacob’s specializes in cuts and I also use him a ton for special occasion up dos and blow outs. Enrico is my man for color. His balayage highlights are to die for.

The hair cutters are all on their own agenda. I appreciate their love of design within the hair but when you are asking for a trim and paying for it then 2 inches max does not mean 5. My hair went from my belly button to my shoulders.

Rita is very precise, and really takes the time to give you what you want. On top of that, she’s very personable and makes the time really fly by. You just feel like you’re having a girly chatting session.
i walked out with curls like I’ve never had and everybody fawning over how amazing my hair looked. Um… who doesn’t want that?
The only reason this salon isn’t a 5 star experience is because they push their products pretty hard at every level (shampoo girl, front desk girl, etc.) and it’s annoying.
Otherwise, however, the entire experience here is very spa-​like and soothing and it’s a wonderful little beauty escape from LA.

I tried to go again, and it was just a terrible comedy of errors, and as all my friends say about it «wow, Frederic Fekkai really screwed you for the Emmys»
1. Called 2 weeks before to make an appt and they told me I could only come in on Saturday, cause they’re not open on Sundays. (Turns out in fact they were open this one special Sunday.)
2. When i showed up that Sat, my stylist was like «for sure, let’s get you in on Sunday!» and then at reception felt they were going above and beyond by squeezing me in on Sunday (even though they misinformed me first time). Not to be flip, but isnt that what you’re supposed to do? — they successfully upsold me and should be happy to get my business!
3. Sunday appt ended up being *40 minutes late*, causing me to miss my Makeup Appointment at another location — not cool.
4. Since they were late, they said they could accommodate me with doing my makeup there — wow, that’s great service!
5. When I checked out, they charged me $ 100 for the makeup — wait, what? You made me late? You basically held me hostage so I *had* to get my makeup done there cause I had no time. (ended up keeping my group waiting by 30 min too!)
I called later to see if I could speak to the management about my bummer experience. They said she’d call on Tuesday — she didnt. Two weeks later I finally went back to leave my gratuities (I didnt have cash that day, and even though I was pissed about the above, Im not going to NOT leave a tip the awesome ladies I worked with!) And when I did I asked to speak to the manager, they said sure. But after waiting 10 minutes, and finally had to leave. They didnt ask me for my number to followup. I called a couple times later that day, and the phone was off the hook. Finally when I did get through and spoke to the manager, she had me on speaker phone and I have a feeling other people listening in, which is rude.
Mngr said it was miscommunication, that they went above and beyond to fit me in and of course I would have to pay. As you can tell — I definitely disagree. And it actually doesnt really matter… I was left feeling like I had a bad experience and they should figure out a way to make me feel valued. «hey, we’re really sorry about that, but come back next time and we’ll do sthg to make it up to you.»
I could’ve easily made Frederic Fekkai my go-​to salon — its in my neighborhood, I have a great rapor with the people there. But I felt like they didnt care that they had made me miss an appointment and then forced me to buy their service. Sucks that I can’t go there again, but happy to give my money to ANY other salon in Bev Hills.

After a long day at work, I feel refreshed and pretty again with my hair blow out. I feel like a new woman… strong, powerful and feminine.
The Frederic Fekkai Salon in West Hollywood is an excellent location to have a event for parties and networking. I never thought of renting the salon for a Ladies Night Out filled with exclusive pampering. The Unilocal event here proved to me that it’s a great way to rent the salon. It’s fun and the entire staff makes you feel welcomed and special. Love them! Cocktails, pampering, appetizers, and networking… They do it all.
