Sean totally rules. I have super long wavy hair and he knows exactly what to do to give it great shape. Got what I was going for without me having to say much. I live over in Venice now and still drive back east to go to him. Thanks Sean!

I have nothing but good things to say about Foxtail! I got my hair cut with Sean because my friend had recommended him, and he really did a great job. I was going from having hair down to my chest, to cutting it about an inch above my shoulders, so of course I was really nervous and wanted to find someone I could trust. Normally, I get very anxious during hair cuts, especially when I cut my hair short, just because I’ve had some bad experiences in the past, but Sean knew exactly what he was doing the whole time. This was probably the first time I’ve ever smiled during a haircut! I could just tell that he knew what looked good and what was going to work. I also really liked that he spent about half of the entire time cutting my hair working on my layers. I think a lot of hair dressers just cut layers really quickly and are done, but Sean spent a lot of time making sure everything was even and complimented the rest of my haircut. Afterwards he even added some texture for me so that I could see what it looked like a little wavy.
The salon its self is beautiful and appointments fill up fast on the weekend. To get a weekend spot you typically have to book an appointment a week in advance. It’s also a super great price especially considering the level of hair cutting that they’re doing. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone, especially if you’re thinking of doing something very different with your hair like I was!

Sean is amazing! My husband and I have been going to him since he was working at another salon (took us a while to realize we had the same guy). We followed him to Foxtail and haven’t been back to the other place since.

I was looking for a salon that was close to my house. I was new to the Los Angeles area so I went out on a whim and tried Foxtail Salon. I have short hair and often times its hard to cut the way I like it. Cheri took the time to ask me what I like even pulled out pictures. She went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I will definitely come back again!

For several years I’ve been without a hairstylist in LA because each time I decide to trust someone the result is a lot of money spent on a blah and boring look. This was not the case with Bridget at Foxtail! She spent time getting to know me, my hair, and what I was after. She then devoted so much time and attention to getting my red hair to go blonde. It’s now a lovely peach which I think I’ll keep, but we might lighten it more later. She was careful not to kill my hair by over-​bleaching it in one session — so different from previous experiences I’ve had elsewhere. End result? I have gorgeous hair that I can’t stop staring at and touching (even with the bleach it’s super soft!!). Thanks Bridget! I’ll definitely be back.

Cheri Bruner is the best! I met her last year and she has transformed my hair completely! My hair was fried when I came to her and she had managed to make it grow beautifully she is Amazing at color! I have never met anyone who can do the beautiful platinum blonde that she does! And trust me I have been to several hair salons and I even work at a high end hair salon in Brentwood! But I would never let anyone else in the world touch my hair except Cheri ! You want to go to her trust me I Drive 2 hours every 4 – 6 weeks to get to her because she is that amazing!

I have been getting my hair cut with the same lady since my teens (now 30) and I was really tired of the same ol cut… even when I told her I wanted something different she wouldn’t really do much for my hair. Decided to try a new place and I am so happy I did. Found this place through Unilocal and they did their best to see me on a Saturday morning, very last minute.
I explained I wanted something new and had a few photos but really wanted feedback… honest feedback as well as some recommendations on how to maintain my hair stylish between cuts.
Cheri was available and she was great! I had medium, very straight length hair. I showed her the photos and she told me what would work with my hair, shape of my face and my patience for maintenance. I wanted something short and while she assured me the style I liked the most would work, she reminded me that it was a drastic change and wanted to be sure I was comfortable… I appreciated that because I was not 100% sure of it so we went with a bit more length and I love it!
Will definitely continue to see her.

When i walked into Foxtail Salon i was greeted with great kindness by all the lovely staff. I was not kept waiting at all, taken right away to get my hair washed and then cut. Now my cut isn’t a very hard to get done but I’m very picky to the way i like it. The lady that was cutting my hair really took the time to listen to what i wanted and cut EXACTLY the way i asked and the way i like :)
I’m very happy with my cut and this great Salon. I give it 5 BIG stars.

First time at the salon today. Loved Cheri! So laid back, cool, and thorough. Love the fact she asked me how I do my hair on a regular basis and what my routine was. She gave me tons of advice for my difficult to work with hair. The vibe of the salon is chic, laid back, and unpretentious. I think I’ve found my L.A. salon — and on the first try! My hair looks gorgeous!

Sean is super nice. I’ve been getting my hair cut by him regularly for over 2 years. It’s a great local place to get your haircut.

I’ve been getting my hair cut exclusively from Sean for over a year now. I’ts always been hit or miss with my hair, and I’ve been hesitant with each stylist I’d visit, but Sean has been consistently great every haircut.
With Sean, it’s not just about a great haircut, he is such a nice guy to just have a conversation with. Super polite and respectful, always in a good mood, so thank you very much Sean!

My main man Sean has been styling my hair for over a year now and I was excited when he told me he was making the move to Foxtail. I had hair past my shoulders because I was never happy with a hairstyle. Now, Sean has been styling my short cut and I’m always feeling great when I leave. And that’s what a cut is all about for me.
We always have a good conversations and he helps me with the right product choices. I’m glad I found him and I’m glad he’s at Foxtail. He even cut my hair a few days before my wedding and my hair looks great in all the photos.

I love this place. Brittney is my hair’s spirit animal. Seriously.
I initially went in right before I was going back east for the holidays for just a cut. Coffee and a giant comfy chair to wait in, reading material that isn’t Cosmo, and it’s aesthetically pleasing without being intimidating — like, I wasn’t afraid to touch things in fear of breaking them.
I will admit — my hair was a disaster. During the summer, I was turning 31 and decided I would try to maintain my youth by bleaching my hair, coloring it lavender, bleaching it again, and desperately trying to cover it up with a mousy brown miss clairol from Sally’s. Not to mention that I hadn’t had a cut in a year and had been maintaining my bangs by myself with kitchen shears and crossed fingers.
Sitting in Brittney’s chair is like being a little kid listening to someone explain outer space to you. She’s incredibly knowledgable, and imparts this knowledge on you in order for you to be able to make educated decisions about your hair. She made some recommendations without pressuring me, but I trusted her and told her to just do what she thought was best. No regrets.
I felt like a movie star. Seriously, I walked down Santa Monica Blvd with my sunglasses on and my head down in anticipation of car crashes because of how amazing my hair looked. I walked out knowing way more about my hair type, what kind of product I should use (and shouldn’t use), and what to expect from my new (all one) color.
I went back a month later for a retouch and a bang trim and I left feeling the same way, and having a new prescription for shampoo and conditioner that literally change the way my hair looks without needing ANY product afterward. I even sent my boyfriend her way, who is pretty particular about his hair, and he came home looking and feeling like a million dollars. We both will be going back to her for as long as humanly possible.
As far as other reviewable things: Prices are totally reasonable. I never walked out thinking I paid more than what the services were worth. Davines products galore with no pressure to buy (but you’ll want to, brace yourself). The salon itself is adorable, smells soo good, and everyone is friendly. The location is super convenient, and parking is painless.

I live this salon, they treated me like gold. Probably the best place I’ve ever had my hair styled of i could I would have gotten this done a long one ago, but at least I did now!

I have fallen in love. Having tried every freaking salon in Los Angeles that has a five star Unilocal review, and being so underwhelmed and disappointed, I figured I’d give this a shot.
Cheri is my savior and a gift from above to my curly, coarse hair. She magically saved my horrid haircut from another establishment down the road, and I will forever come to her for cuts, colors, trims, and advice. She (and it seems all the employees there) actually give two f’s about what they are doing and how they can make you happy. You don’t really get that in LA.

After debating for a good while on whether or not to try a brand new hair cut (I’ve the same hair since 16), I decided it was time for a change.
On a whim, I booked a same day appointment with Cheri, reading nothing but good things on Unilocal about her services. Not only was she great and gave me adorable Zooey Deschanel hair, she was an absolute sweetheart! We chatted about everything from astrology to Harry Potter.
The prices are fair, and she really listens to what you want. The salon is nice and cozy, not what you would expect from an «LA» hair salon.
I highly recommend this place, and I’ll definitely be seeing Cheri regularly for all my hair needs!

I am used to travel a lot in Europe and Asia, and so I am used to all the «trendy» or «recommended» hair salon from London to Taipei, but I must admit I was really impressed by the quality of the job done at Foxtail.
First the place does not pay much but still is very nice and trendy, simple but fun, but the people working there are really nice and very professional. I had Bridget. I must say that I came out very happy with what I consider the best haircut I had since more than a year ago. Bridget new exactly what she was doing and gave me exactly what I wanted and even offered extra service, offering to rinse after the cut seeing that I had a slight rash (as usual having extremely thin hair). I would absolutely recommend it without hesitation and for sure going to return when I am in L.A. thanx a lot Bridget !!! Chris

BRITTNEY BRITTNEY BRITTNEY!!! I’ve been going to BRITTNEY!!! (ok, I’ll stop now) for the past four years (formerly of Trust Salon on Melrose) and followed her to Foxtail.
I have thick hair with a slight wave, some well placed cowlicks, and a patch of hair near the nape of my neck that grows faster and thicker than the rest of my scalp (i call this «the guinea pig». wtf?). I normally wear my hair up and tucked away for work, but when I am able to show my hair on days off I like to shock people with how absolutely gorgeous I am (ok, not that gorgeous, but I do clean up real nice).
Brittney has been able to take care of all my concerns, whether I wanted a more natural or vampy look. She’s also been able to decipher those times that I’ve been completely indecisive; do I go pixie or stay long, how dark or how light should my color be, what the upkeep is like for cut/​color, should I get bangs (cause everyone wants to have pretty bangs like Zooey Deschanel), which thankfully Brittney steered me clear of since everyone at the time wanted to look like AND DID look like Zooey Deschanel. Pretty can be a curse. Hmmm, I do like watching New Girl…
…ANYWAY…
Seeing her today I told her I wanted to look pretty, feminine, with a lighter color than I was used to, and that I was wanting to grow my hair a little longer, but not too much. She suggested ombré, and showed me pics and hair swatches, and took me through what she was doing with the dyes and brushes. Cut, blow dry, style, DONE!
I am very happy with the results and I feel compelled to start numerous affairs with men who are either 10 years younger or ten years older than myself. I’m either the puma in training or that younger Asian second wife that all those global billionaires seem to be sporting these days. Rawr!
Well, I just feel pretty, and Brittney helped. Thank you, Foxtail Salon for bringing Brittney closer to the eastside. She makes your salon a better place.
