If this review were just for service, it would be a 5 star. Were it for price alone, it would be 2.5 stars.
They are very nice and competent. The work they did on my car is excellent. The staff communicates very well, and let’s you know everything up front. Excellent service.
Unfortunately they are a bit pricier than other mechanics in the area. Of which there are several. $ 129 for an alignment is a bit high (received several other estimates and most were $ 90-​$ 110). $ 110 a piece for standard tires… a little high but not unheard of. $ 189 for new spark plugs… is a bit high given that most other mechanics will charge $ 140-​$ 160 for this.
I’m very happy with the service, they were very professional, and I also ended up paying about $ 60-​$ 75 more than average for the work.

Brought my car in this morning because I had been hearing my brakes squealing for about 2 weeks now. I asked them to replace the brake pads as I thought that was the problem. After their free diagnostic, they found that my brake pads were still in great condition and let me know I didn’t need the work done. They weren’t able to find the culprit making the sound but told me to come back if it still causes problems. Point being, they could’ve easily had me pay for unnecessary parts and labor, but didn’t. Honest, nice guys, and I’ll definitely be back for any future problems.
Also, after they put my tires back on and I drove off the lot, my car hasn’t been making the screeching anymore. Magic? Maybe. Go to these guys and they’ll do their best to help.

Came in for an oil change Saturday morning, Jimmy at the front was really easy to talk to. He was welcoming and we were able to get right to business while having a friendly demeanor. He gave me a time frame for the work to be finished (about an hour and twenty minutes) and he ended up being right on time if not early.
What I really appreciated was the care and how transparent these guys were. They gave my car the 30 point inspection and didn’t take advantage, they gave me what I would think is an accurate description of the state of my car. The last place I went to diagnosed a myriad of issues with my car, most of which were minor.
Overall, these guys seem trustworthy. They did an excellent job in a timely manner and customer service was great.

Let me first preface this review by saying that I did not end up getting any work done here and the reason is part of why I’m writing this two star review.
I messaged this shop a month ago on Unilocal for a quote for a front bumper repair. Chance, one of the owners was very friendly in his quick reply and said come in any day before 5. I had a day off today and decided to stop by. Chance wasn’t there, which is fine but Marciano was in the front office and was very quick to help me. I showed him what I wanted fixed (front bumper with one side slightly misaligned) and asked him for a rough estimate/​quote range.
Here’s where the two star rating comes in, he see’s what I’m talking about and says that it could be a number of things and just to give a proper estimate I’d have to pay around $ 150 just for them to take off the bumper to check. What!!! I’m not a business owner and have only limited car mechanic experience but I feel if your business claims to offer free estimates then I should be able to get a free estimate without you having to charge me $ 150 min, just to look and give me my estimate.
I have no doubt that the guys at this shop are nice people and probably do good work but I really don’t understand how you can advertise free estimates and then when someone comes in say that it’s going to start at $ 150 just to get the real estimate. It seems like you guys should start advertising something proper like, «Free estimates available* if damage is fully/​only surface level.»
Just my opinion gents. I mean no disrespect by this review I will just have to take my business elsewhere as I don’t want to have to spend the $ 150 just to be told that I need to spend $ 2000.

Friendly, courteous and understanding FIx Car Now is the ultimate in car repair. For the past 9 years they have worked on my 2 BMW’s and my classic 1968 Cadillac DeVille. Unlike most dealers and mechanics, Jimmy & Chance (the owners) understand that we aren’t all made of money and will work hard to make sure that you get a Grade-​A repair at a cost that won’t leave your wallet empty. AND they have clean and new FREE loaner cars! I highly recommend them!

I’ve been coming here for 2 years with my trusty Nissan Sentra 1996. These guys are knowledgable, honest, and really treat their customers with care. They know I don’t want to spend much on maintaining an old car so they always provide options for what’s best for both the customer and car — Sometimes I buy parts on my own online and they’ll do the installation for me. I know a lot of shops would not do that! The wait at the shop is normal and I don’t mind being there — the interior is a Shepard Fairey/​motor fan dream.

FixCarNow is my go-​to spot for auto repair… quick, polite, reliable, and fair. They are always very clear, patient, and informative … great communication. I generally get my car turned around within a hour or two, but they have loaner cars for longer jobs.

I’ve been coming here for 6 years and have never had a poor experience. They’re reliable, work quickly, and have fair prices. The staff is very friendly as well. Whenever I need to keep my car in for a longer period of time, they’re usually able to arrange a loaner car if I call in ahead of time. In the past, when my car had an issue that came back after I brought it in, they didn’t charge me for the original attempted repair. Will definitely keep coming back, this is a great local shop.

Although I’ve reviewed FixCarNow in the past, I want to reiterate that, years later, they are still my go-​to. I took both cars there within the last week, and was extremely satisfied by the experience. The management and staff there are professional, friendly, and efficient. And there’s absolutely no B.S. to put up with. Also, if you need body work done, they have a good referral service, where the work is done for a reasonable price and schedule.

First, CUSTOMER SERVICE! They are professional, polite, and very forthcoming with what they are going to do an how much it will cost. (I saw them deal with an unreasonably irate customer and they SINCERELY apologized. It diffused the situation nicely and made ME feel better.)
I loved getting the texts telling me how the repairs on my car we’re going.
Another extra is the call center for when they are not open, so you can leave a message and they’ll call you back.
Finally, they had my car done BEFORE the time they said and it looked great.

I’ve been living in the neighborhood for a year and FixCarNow is my go-​to place. Jimmy makes sure he understands your needs and then he goes over and above the call of duty to deliver.
Example: Normally, I don’t use my car a lot, and so I let Jimmy know there is no rush. I know he has a lot of customers who sometimes have pressing schedules. But the weekend before Thanksgiving, I had a road trip planned for Red Rocks outside Vegas. The trip had been planned for over a month, and then the «Needs Maintenance» light came on the morning before the trip. It turned out to be a combination of alignment, steering column, and engine block mounts. Jimmy got all the work done (4 hours of labor) and my car back by the end of the day.
Jimmy is extra scrupulous about costs, letting you know things in advance, and managing little problems instead of gratuitously replacing stuff. He makes sure you know that keeping you safe is his top priority, and protecting your wallet is his next priority. Just a really good guy. I trust Jimmy, and I hope you’ll give him a chance. I will definitely be bringing my car to Jimmy even when I move away from this neighborhood — a good car guy is irreplacable, and Jimmy is a *great* car guy.

Been here twice for basic service and I probably won’t be back as there are other shops in the area with better basic service. They did a great job running a diagnostic and identifying other mechanical issues with my car. However, I went here a few days ago for an oil change, brought my car in at 9:30 on a Saturday and they told me «a couple hours.» Two hours later my car hadn’t moved and it was «almost ready» to be serviced. I’ve brought my car into other shops and comparable times and hadn’t have to wait more than an hour. Waste of two hours. Look elsewhere for basic service

I took my car to Fix Car Now to get new brakes for my 16 year old Corolla. I was almost 100% certain that I needed both front and rear brakes. I also knew that I might have waited too long to get them fixed. I was prepared to pay for a lot of really expensive work. I told them all this so it would have been a perfect opportunity for them to oversell me. Additionally, My car had been dragging at intersections… but I didn’t say anything about that although I should have since it was a safety issue.
I am happy to say that Jimmy was totally honest and informed me that I only needed the rear brakes done and that my spark plug and valve cover gasket needed to be replaced and the area cleaned. I realized that this was probably what was causing the potential stalling at the intersections. I had this issue about 6 years ago too and it cost me more than $ 500 to fix.
I dropped my car off the night before to get an early start. I had a call from Jimmy by 7:45 am with the above prognosis. My car was ready by 2 pm that day and I paid half of what I paid 6 years ago for the gasket valve and spark plug service. I drove straight to Best Buy and bought a much needed new lap top with the money I saved.
Jimmy was kind enough to keep the shop open later to drop off the car the night before. He really went above and beyond. I live close by so I was able to walk home.
I was so pleased that I went back to get my smog checked which was easy and convenient too. I highly recommend this place.

So pleased with these guys. I took my VW Bug there last week and explained the issue, they said they would check it out and call me right away with the diagnosis. They didn’t charge me anything until they let me know what the problem was. I dropped it off in the morning, they drove me to work, which was so helpful, and then called me later that day to let me know the issues. The car was ready the following evening but due to my hectic schedule I wasn’t able to pick it up until the weekend. They were so nice, and accommodating and let me leave the car there until I was able to get it. I didn’t feel taken advantage of or anything.
I don’t know anything about cars and my dad lives in Washington state, Jimmy told me to have my dad call him and he would be happy to explain everything to him. I felt very comfortable there and really love also that they are open on weekends for any future issues that may fall on the most inopportune moment– a weekend.
I totally trust these guys and will definitely be taking my Bug there for any future issues. I live in Los Feliz, but am so thankful to these guys that I will drive there in the future for sure!

Bottom Line: Friendly, thorough, and accommodating.
I got my oil changed at a drive-​through style business. They told me that I had a severe oil leak, but weren’t able to determine where it was.
It was a Sunday, so everywhere was closed except for FixCarNow, which was a blessing. While they were doing a diagnosis on my car, I spent the time at the coffee shop next door, which was quite good.
FixCarNow told me that there wasn’t a leak at all, and they kindly showed my how clean my engine was, and did not rush doing so, despite the influx of customers at that time.
Despite the longer drive, I will probably come here rather than my usual car shop.

Today Jimmy really put my mind at ease, giving my car a test drive after I felt something was wrong. He was very friendly and made himself immediately available, gave me a few tips to maintain my car, and all this for free, with a big smile!
It’s the second time my husband and I have gone to Fix Car Now, and they have our business for the future!

Admittedly, I don’t know much about cars: I’ve only had two cars since I was 16 and have never had serious problems with either of them (except for the time my first car broke down for good, but that’s beside the point). That being said, whenever anything goes wrong with my car, I always go to FixCarNow. The owner, Chance, is very friendly and easy to work with, and the service is done well, finished quickly, and relatively inexpensive.
My first time coming here was after my car got hit when I was parked on the street outside of my apartment. I came in on a Saturday for an estimate (because they’re open 7 days a week and I’m a working man) and I was there for about five minutes as Chase took pictures and got my contact information. He said he would have an estimate to me within a day and that we could set up an appointment to get it fixed then. When I received the estimate, I was stoked because it was much cheaper than anywhere else in the area. The work was done within a few days and I was good to go!
They’ve also took care of some smaller issues with my car throughout the past two years and I’ve always been pleased with their work. Everyone who I have talked to there has been friendly and attentive. Also, the fact that they’re open 7 days a week is so clutch. I would definitely recommend FixCarNow!

The only reason I am giving FixCarNow 3 stars instead of 2 is because I think the owner realized how horribly they were trying to take advantage of my zero knowledge of cars and as a result of that, let me go without charging me. They also gave me a loaner car for a day which was cool, but unnecessary which I would later find out.
My car started to squeak on my passenger side one day. The next day I felt some weirdness underneath my feet. The 3^rd day my breaks had almost no resistance. FixCarNow was open on a Sunday and I read the great reviews and despite my father’s insistence that I go to his guys, I went ahead and got my car diagnosed here.
They wanted to charge me $ 400 to replace my break and rotors (even I know they are overcharging me by at least $ 200 for this), replace the wheel hub assembly ($ 450), and add/​change my ABS sensor for ~$ 450 (which I never understood why this was necessary). They «capped me» at $ 1100 dollars and I was like, «Holy shit! These guys are giving me a deal!» My dad flipped his shit, called me a moron, and we got my car out of there.
Long story short we went to my dad’s guys and they replaced the ball bearings in the wheel that was messed up and changed my rotors and breaks for $ 185. They did it in 45 minutes. I would have EASILY paid $ 1100 because of how naïve I am and it feels like the FixCarNow guys would absolutely prey on that lack of knowledge.
Bottom line, they wanted to charge me $ 1100 for a $ 185 job. Never again, sorry guys.

Stay away if you have a Subaru! It’s official they managed to almost get me killed once (see my first review) and now have cost me $ 1400+ for a new catalytic converter on my 2007 subaru outback. My new mechanic was pretty surprised that I needed a new cat so quickly, however when a shop like fix car now puts the wrong size spark plugs in your car it can cause that type of damage.
If they do the work right I’m sure you will not have a problem, but if you had the experience I had then you’ll see how unprofessional and dishonest they can be. After having some issues with a misfiring cylinder I took my car to the dealership and found out Fix Car Now managed to somehow put spark plugs in my car that were close to an inch too long.
So Subaru replaces my spark plugs with the correct ones and then gives me the ones they replaced with some old subaru ones for comparison.. I went back to Fix Car Now to let them know they did a bad job and show them the spark plugs that they put in my car. Chance gave me my money back for the bad spark plug job roughly $ 200. I mentioned they probably ruined my catalytic converter as well. Chance said there was no way that damage could be caused by the spark pkugs. He even brought his chief mechanic out to BS me as well. I’m not a new car expert by any means, but when sparks plugs cause misfiring and are not correctly burning the gas in the cylinder this can cause gasoline deposits in the exhaust system (catalytic converter).
The right thing to do in my opinion would be to own up to the bad work and either pay for the catalytic converter replacement or do the job for free. Now both the Subaru dealer and 2 other mechanics have stated that the bad spark plugs could cause catalytic converter damage.
This happened almost 3 years ago but I’ve managed to chug along until recently without getting the converter replaced.
I just thought it would be a good idea to let people know what I experienced here. They could have replaced their mechanics etc. by now but the accountability of the ownership is definitely something to question.
Please see my other review of this same shop stripping a bolt on my tire then almost getting me t boned in an intersection. Never heard of stripping a bolt on the wheel before this incident.
Hopefully they are doing better work now and you won’t have to come back when something isn’t done right.
