First Class Nails & Spa

I have never had a worse pedicure. I was recommended this place by a friend and decided to give it a shot. I called ahead and had an appointment. When I showed up they were unprepared and had to scramble to get things ready for me. I was getting a gel manicure and regular pedicure. There were two people working on me at once, a man on melt toes and an older woman on my nails.
The first thing that irked me was the hygienic practices: they lined the foot tub with a plastic bag because they didn’t want to clean it out I guess? Eek! I didn’t see them clean any of the tools while I was there, just shift them around from table to table. I feel very lucky I didn’t get an infection.
The second thing that bothered me was the social atmosphere. When I came in no one said anything to me. When I sat down no one said anything to me. I understand when there is a language barrier, but not even a «hello!»? Very strange and alienating.
The third thing that really sealed my decision never to come back here was the actual mani-​pedi (especially the manicure, wow was it JACKED UP). The Pedicure was average, some bubbles here and there, but no major issues. The gel manicure was terrible. She filed my nails square without asking, and by the time I movies them it was too late. My nails were filed VERY crooked and I had to re-​file them at home. My cuticles were cut unevenly, some are cut, some aren’t, some are only half cut. The gel polish was ALL OVER MY FINGERS! A week later and I am still scraping baked on polish out from under my nails. The polish was all over the side of my fingers, and I had to cut them off myself later. I am not the kind of person who will stay and demand that they fix what they’ve ruined, at this point I just wanted to get out of there. Please be warned, there are much better nail salons in the immediate area, DO NOT GO HERE.

Don’t be mislead by these reviews. Maggie, the lady everyone seems to be writing excellent reviews about if located at the SECOND location which is just a few doors down. THIS LOCATION, nearest to Wingstop and Chuck E Cheese is by far the WORST nail shop I have ever been to. Being that it is so close to where I live, I fought through all the rudeness and disrespect and went there often. JUST GIVING MY MONEY AWAY considering that I was NEVER satisfied with the work. Last weeks job was the straw the broke the camel’s back. I got a gel mani/​pedi on Friday and 3 of my mani chipped by Sunday and i don’t even wash dishes. I called to ask when I can swing by and get it fix. They implied the person who did the initial job won’t be returning until Friday therefore I have to wait… Cool, only problem was when I called on Friday they had the nerves to tell me that there will be a fee of $ 3 per nail associated with the fix since it’s been a week. HOLD UP! WHAT??? They TOLD ME I HAVE TO WAIT, NOW THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME? Oh and mind you this wasn’t the first they did this to me. Early January John did a mani/​pedi for me and my Pedi chipped in 2 days, when I went back they notified me that he was busy and Tina will take care of me. At the end of my Pedi, she charged me. I was in shock so I just paid and left. THIS PLACE HAS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT GO!!! If I can give them a negative star I would!

Maggie does it once again. The care, time, and attention she puts into my nails always makes for amazing results. She talks to you. She’s patient, and she does top quality work every time I come in. She’s my ultimate fave.

I’ve been going to Maggie for a little over a year. I ended up in her chair on Christmas Eve 2014 after having a really bad experience with another nail shop. She did (and does) an AMAZING job! She’s very thorough and I’m always satisfied with her work. When she does my full set they stay on for a full month before lifting (I know because I tried to take them off after 2 weeks and I couldn’t). I can’t say enough great things about her. Oh, she always remembers me too. It makes me feel special. She will give you an affectionate nickname on your first visit and never forget you. That’s the kind of customer service that makes me want to give her my business over and over. Side note, I moved tonOrange County a few months ago but still make it a point to go to her whenever I’m in LA!

This is a no frills place. I like to get pedicures and while they do get busy on Friday afternoons and weekends, if you get there early enough it’s not too bad.

Negative! I been sitting for 30min no one was here yet when people walk in the went before me. So I guess I’m not a local Inglewood rat I can’t get my nails done… OVER IT

Friendly no nonsense staff. Good work. They run advertisements and infomercials instead of relaxing music — I can only assume hearing about the latest kitchen gadget for three easy payments of $ 33.33 and how you can get a Kia with bad or no credit for only $ 99 a month is what their regulars want to listen to as they relax. I’m going to probably get the kitchen gadget. The massage was good but only 30 seconds long, which is good because I don’t feel obligated to tip more than I usually do so it saves me money. I’ll come back — I can listen to ads the entire time and get my nail needs taken care of in one place. :-)

I’ve been meaning to write a review for awhile now. I went to other places because people said they were good, but no one treated me as nice as Maggie or made me feel safe in their hands. Last person cut me at a different place then tried to blame it on me. Maggie will be the only person I will go to when I’m in town. I recommend her to everyone.

Very pricey place. Came here because i was in the area and wanted a full set. I paid more than ive paid before. And i got really short oval nails. Not returning.

Not a good experience!!! I will not be back. Did a somewhat decent job on nails but when it was time to pay they tried to gauge me with the price and charge me four dollars to use a debit card. The pedicure was $ 17 but said they would charge $ 4 extra just to use a debit card. They said the limit is $ 18 for debit card but I was only one dollar under the limit. Nevertheless, I left and did not leave a tip since I had to pay additional money to use the card. Greed never pays! I won’t be back EVER!!! In addition it was burning up inside with no air conditioning mixed with the acetone smell they should have turned on the air to circulate the room. Seems they are very cheap and could careless about the clients experience. Too many nail shops around to spend my money here.

I gave this place a 4 because Maggie is amazing and she knows what she is doing.
So if you need to get an awesome job done this place is great but you have to go to Maggie !
I’m sure she’s not the only terrific one, but in the times I’ve come here two other people have done my nails and I don’t leave as happy as I should after getting my manicures or acrylic nails done.
So my recommendation is to go to Maggie !

Maggie is amazing! I read all these review b4 coming and kept reading about her. So 1^st thing 1^st… there are 2 locations within this plaza. Same name same owner. The one in the back is whatever. they come off very rude and really pissed me off. I show up at 8:50 am and im the 1^st person 2 arrive for a pedi /​full set. By the time John is finished with my pedi, other customers have arrived and now im told i have 2 wait over an hour 4 my full set. Yet i was the 1^st person there for opening? They refused 2 accomodate me and just said i could wait or go. So i left and went to the shop in the front located near the 99cents store and what do you know! MAGGiE works at the front salon. She is absolutely amazing. Will give u just wat u ask for but more importantly shes impressive and a perfectionist. Maybe it was meant 2 be that the back salon screwed me over, because then i would have never stumbled upon maggie! Point blank period. Ask 4 her! You won’t be disappointed. She now has a new loyal customer.
On another note .i would give 1 star of we were allowed to differentiate between the locations but because its the same name and owners i couldnt do maggie like tht… so 5 stars it is. Again this is for «first class nails 2» not the original shop in the back. Dont let them fool you.

Natalie is the worst. This was a nail shop I often frequented while living in LA. Today I was in the city and decided to visit to get a fill on my silk wrap nails and pedicure. The lady who did my pedicure was awesome but that Natalie is horrible. I did not come in with powder on my nails but left out with nails looking like my 1 yr old nephew did them. I repeatedly told her silk only and she kept insisting it is better keeps the nails stronger. After an hour she attempts to present me with Herman monster nails saying I am sorry for the delay as she rushes to her rude and loud appointment. I was pissed but sat quietly knowing if I said anything I would have cursed her out. I will NEVER EVER go back.

Maggie, once again, did a great job on my nails. I love the quality — plus the color and shape are perfect to transition from summer to fall. Thanks, again, Maggie!!! See you soon!!!

Maggie is the best when you come to first class nails ask for her. She is fast and a perfectionist very good will current nail trend styles too! Make sure you call ahead for appointment she may be busy but she is worth the wait!

I called at 9a to make sure they were open since it’s a holiday weekend. They didn’t answer the phone until 948a and told me to come in 30 min. I got there 30 min later and had to wait another 10 min. I had Née who said she usually works at the salon in the back. When I was there, I saw a worker tell at least two ppl to come back later or tomorrow. She also had to stop waxing my eyebrows in the back to answer the phone in the front to tell ppl to come tomorrow. I don’t understand why they turn people away. There are nail salons on every corner. It’s easy to just go to another nail shop down the corner. Née did a good job. She was quick. I had the 10% off checkin deal but I didn’t like the fact that they charged me a $ 2 credit card fee. There was no signage. I just took it out of their tip.

I went to this place at short notice. The didn’t have a wait and I was seen immediately. I showed them the Unilocal 10%off coupon and they honored it. There is a dollar charge if you are using your credit card. The work was ok but will really tell after a few days. No complaints other than the staff Daniel coughing while working in my nails and wiping his nose, which is so disgusting. I washed and sanitized my nails after. BUT overall a nice job.

I LOVE this place. I can come him and relax! They do excellent job on my toes and mani. Sea salt scrub on my pedi with extra massage. It’s an excellent stress-​relief experience.
To be completely honest — I must say that I have been coming here for many many years. It has always been a good crowd of people — which means people keep coming. For years I came like clock work every two weeks and was lucky to get the same nail technician.
For a time (about a year) I stopped coming because they felt comfortable asking me if I could come back later because they were busy. The first few times, I appreciated the gesture– but as this kept on happening I felt in-​appreciated — specially since they still made me wait a long time even when I came back later.
So I hunted for a salon close by with good prices, that did a good job, clean and had nice spa chairs. After a year of trying a different place in the area every month — I decided to come back and give them a try one more time. They have been wonderful ever since. I get excellent customer service.
The owner opened another salon within the same plaza. I have seen them refer the new customers that don’t want to wait to the other location and they are doing an excellent job making the regular customers feel special. They are awesome and I am planning to continue to come here for many years.
We come together as a family: me (grandma), my daughter and granddaughter and it’s always a great pleasant experience.
