I can not tell u just how happy I am with my custom lenses! I had a very specific tan/​rose tint in mind and Mr. Kim nailed it! He inspired confidence from the moment I walked in, but I was worried I didn’t explain my idea well. I just kinda ranted about how tan and rose are like similar or something lol. What I got back was beyond perfect and the price was extremely reasonable. I will be back! I highly recommend this place :)

OUTSTANDING. I brought in a pair of prescription sunglasses to get nose pads attached since the left side was hitting my cheek. It was from all of the previous great reviews that I went by and I cannot be more pleased. The craftsmanship is excellent: they’re clear frames and it’s perfect – can’t even tell that there are nose pads attached.
Sung is kind, helpful and is the ultimate professional. He is extremely knowledgeable and have completely earned my trust. His level of knowledge and professionalism doesn’t come around often…
From here on, I will go to him for anything optical and refer everyone that I know. SO happy to have found such a gem!!!

Found this place thru Unilocal.My boyfriend’s $ 400 gerret leight sunglasses snapped at the bridge for no reason and he was pretty upset… We looked this place up and the lovely man there was straightforward that the design of the glasses made them prone to breaking, that he could fix them for $ 35 and that he should be very careful with them. Appreciated the guys honesty and the glasses came back as good as new. The shop itself has some great things in it and we will be back to buy sunglasses here. Really a nice shop, a great owner who knows his business, quality work and a cool collection of sunglasses from German and Japanese brands I had never seen before but look forward to trying on! 100% recommended.

Found this awesome place via Unilocal.I needed to have someone check my favorite sunglasses to see if they could fix the hinges as they had been tamper by my little boy. As I walked in the gentleman (possibly owner) was so welcoming and so very much helpful. He was able to get them fixed in no time ! He made my day not just because he fixed my favorite sunglasses but because he showed so much kindness. I don’t wear glasses but if I did, this would be a place to check out cool, colorful, playful and edgy frames !

Wow I just had the best experience here! The only reason I came here to fix my eye glasses (it was one of those I-​fell-​asleep-​with-​my-​glasses-​on nights and the hinges were all bent) was because of the Unilocal reviews: and they didn’t lie! I called before driving over since I live in the valley and he said I could just show up whenever I want. Within five minutes I was in and out of the shop with perfectly fixed glasses! It’s very clean inside with tons of options for you (and he really gets how to fit your face shape with the glasses: he let me try some on before leaving) and it’s an easy location with plenty parking on side streets!

Let me start by saying that this place has an incredible selection!
Been a customer here for a while and Sung has always been very helpful. He has helped me with just about everything from minor fixes to selecting my newest and best fitting eyeglasses to add to my collection.
The first time I stepped into this stop, I was a bit worried about pricing because of its upscale look to the shop. I’m glad I walked into Eyetailor. The pricing very reasonable for just about everything. The frames start for about $ 125 and upwards. The collections Sung carries are of rare collection you don’t find just about anywhere. Even the most expensive frames he carries are great!
First time I walked in I needed a repair on my glasses and I thought they could not be saved. He truly is an «eye wear ninja» as mentioned by a previous review. He fixed my glasses quickly.
He also mentioned that my lenses were very scratched and that I should replace them soon. So I did, $ 69 for Poly-​carbonate, WOW! Another deal! To top it off my glasses were ready the next day. Quick service! Such clarity that I had not seen for a while.
Second time I came back, I came back for a back up pair since he recommended I do just in case my 1^st pair fell apart. So this time I bought a better pair of glasses which I was pleased and I also invested in better quality lenses as well. His lens prices are very inexpensive and I do recommend getting any lenses with Crizal anti glare coating (very durable).
I come around to Eyetailor every once in a while because I have noticed he changes collections pretty often. Great stuff! You never know what you will find. I definitely recommend this shop. This place is a great find and if you cannot find anything (which I don’t see why you couldn’t find anything when he has such a large selection) he also has another store across the street called Cateye Vintage Spectacles. Enjoy!

Very unpleasant and disappointed with this place, gee I was thinking this might be the place but instead NOOO! All I wanted was to fix my Ray Bans hinge part and they were charging me $ 100! Half what I paid for the glasses and adding more it was just to repair, I was asked to buy the part online and bring it in! It’s a good thing I called first or I’ll be very angry, don’t come here to repair your glasses whatsoever!

i have previously only been to big-​box chain lens and frame stores and even purchased a pair recently through my insurance. it was cheap, but it took weeks to get my glasses, and the lenses werent centered properly and the glasses were basically useless. i was going on an international trip over the holidays and needed glasses for traveling, and was desperate to find a place that could fix the ones i had or help me get new glasses ASAP. i searched on Unilocal,and luckily found this place due to the great reviews.
from the start, they were amazingly helpful, and were able to fit me in right away and get me new glasses and lenses, as well as install nose pads, all within 3 days over a weekend! it was a little expensive, but well worth the cost. after all, what’s the point in buying cheap glasses when they’re basically useless and you have to return them anyways?
parking is a little difficult but not impossible. i was always able to find parking on heliotrope around the corner.

Honestly the best eyewear shop in LA with a wide range of unique eyeglasses and sunglasses. Their eye tailor is a real pro in optical lenses and simply a very nice guy. He provided me with excellent customer service and replaced my broken lens in no time. I left him my favorite vintage frame and prescription and he told me that my glasses would be ready in two days. It was really great and unexpected because my previous glass repairs took at least a week and even more! My Goodness! I was ready to hug him. My glasses were ready in just one day! Unbelievable! He cleaned up my frame and additionally adjusted the glasses to fit my face. Nobody did that for me before. Most of the shops would just give your finished eyeglasses and say «thank you, bye.» But this guy did his job very professionally. My eyeglasses are extremely clean and I can see things very clear now. Maybe it’s just the quality of lens or some professional secret. Anyways, from now on I’ll become their return customer. Would definitely recommend Eyetailor Optical to others! Thank you once again!

Great frame selections and a very sweet owner. He gave me his opinions but he was never pushy. Ah yes that’s the kind of shopping experience I want!!! And they adjusted my frame so perfectly that the glasses haven’t given me any headache at all! Yay!

I was looking for a store that can get my new glasses nose pats. I tried a couple of places in LA but they all told me that nose pats will be metal made and it would make the look bad. So, I searched more stores on Unilocal and thought I can try this store after reading though people’s stories.
When I asked for nose pats, the owner looked at my glasses and simply said to me that I can pick it up tomorrow without any negative comments like other stores.
Then, I came back next day and saw my glasses with perfect plastic hand made nose pat!!! So beautiful and well made! I am so impressed with his job!

I came here a couple of years ago after reading the stellar review. Mr. Kim is simply the best. While I have not purchased prescription eye ware from him, He has replaced several of my existing $$$ frames with new lenses. Prices and turnaround times are more than reasonable, and he is a joy to do business with. Plus he’s open weekends! I won’t ever go anywhere else.

Wow this place is excellent, no wonder it has 5 star rating. My bf had a pair of Mykita glasses that the frame needed to be replaced or fixed. I went to another spot in Ktown which quoted me higher and longer time. I decided to come here. I paid less and even though he told me it could take up to a month I got the glasses in a little over a week! Mykita doesn’t have a store in CA so makes it tough to find these glasses.

Beautiful collection, and really great service. I came in with 3 pairs of glasses that all needed minor repairs. I was in and out in 8 minutes and his price for service was ridiculously affordable.

Unilocaled sunglasses retailer when I was in the area and found Eyetailor Optical. What a nice little gem in this area. For a small little boutique, the selection was impressive. If you’re looking for some nice new sunglasses and live in the area, I suggest giving this place a chance.

Sung at Eyetailor Optical was great. I had a pair of non –prescription sunglasses that needed replacement lenses due to the originals being scratched. Sung had several affordable solutions and was courteous, thorough and fast. It is so nice to see a small business take pride in their work and put the customer first. I WILL be take my business back to them again!

First of all, the frames are gorgeous. Secondly, they do the lenses right there so it’s a very short turnaround — usually 48 hours. Thirdly, Sung (the owner) and Caesar are so kind and EXTREMELY helpful. I ask a ton of questions, and they couldn’t be more kind and informative.
Something that they do really advertise is that they take Care Credit (0% interest rate for six months) which is great if you’re like me who not only needs eyegasses, but also computer glasses (dedicated to computer work and ipad reading) and sunglasses. As they don’t take insurance (yeah, a drawback), their prices are really good — I think for my eyeglasses, it was only like $ 70 differences — as I needed my glasses pronto, it was worth it for me ESP since they take care credit. Plus, I ended up with waaay cuter glasses… I love them! That’s the ultimate plus.

Sung and his team did a wonderful job adding a nose piece to my Moscot Lemtosh. Very professional and quick repair. I highly recommend you check them out. I’ll definitely be back. They also have a bunch of frame options as well.

I have been lucky enough to always be able to buy expensive glasses and have thus been to many shops like this in LA and San Francisco.
This is by far the best. When you pay more you expect to get more and at Eye Tailor you do. I have never experienced better customer service anywhere. It’s what small business is all about: you might pay a little more but you get a better product and better service.
I have purchased several paris of pricey glasses (in my opinion; over $ 400) from here and they have been a bargain due to the excellent service I continue to get. The glasses last seemingly forever and when they do have a problem you just go in and they fix it every time. Loose frames, worn plastic, lost cases, no problem.
I would never dream of shopping anywhere else and I recommend them without hesitation.
I’ll say it again: do not hesitate to get your lenses here!
