El Bronco Taqueria

Every time I leave a positive review for one of these obscure, out-​of-​the-​way, authentic restaurants, their quaint charm is almost invariably destroyed weeks after by hipsters using the same Unilocal!Reviews that I myself rely on to navigate away from hipsters. It’s a vicious cycle…
Authentic and tasty sopapillas, wonderfully marinated shrimp plates and heaping portions of marinated al pastor and charbroiled bistec with gallons of free flowing homemade horchata blend with a spacious, airy dining room that feels the extended living room of your favorite abuelita… aaaaaaaaaand, and Audi A6 just pulled into the driveway.
That train’s never late! Enjoy the El Bronco while you still can!
Four out of five stars; a lack of paper towels in the bathroom leaves the place just shy of perfection …

RUN!!! This place is literally the worst. The carne asada was so burnt that I thought it was chopped bacon. I exchanged it for a torta with chicken, which was also a major let down. The people working there were sort of nice before the burnt meat thing so I guess they have that going for them.

Carne Asada burrito was uninspired.

Food here is okay! Tasty but I have yet to be WOWd! lol The one plat that I really really recommend and I have heard other who have tried it raving about it, are the enchiladas!
The location is really difficult to find if you do not know where it is. I did not even know it existed until I was told about it and I drive by there all the time. The staff is friendly.
The inside has been through some ups-​and-​downs, they have been moving things around but now it looks better.

I ate everything, but I will not be returning. The burrito de asada was good, but it is not huge like other reviews say. The taco meet was burnt (I had al pastor and asada). It was hard to tell which was which because they were so burnt. The shrimp taco had potential. The shrimp were large and fried to perfection, but they have no sauce. The nachos are also not huge, and we ordered large. I usually don’t complain about décor, but this place was cluttered!!! They had a car tire, a car seat-​bench, and all a lot of their Styrofoam supplies piled up at the entrance. All the clutter just made the place look and feel dirty.

I’ve been many times here before and I mostly order the «Camarones a la diabla» cause it’s so damn good! But lately I’ve tried to expand my menu choices and let me tell you, the burritos are amazing and so worth the price. It’s mostly empty-​except when the World Cup was going on lol since they have 2 tvs people were coming in to the point that it was full. Oh and the tortilla chips and salsa they give you in the beginning is a nice touch but let me warn you, it’s spicy and not for those who don’t like a hot salsa. Enjoy!

I stopped in at El Bronco Taqueria yesterday for lunch and enjoyed a pretty tasty burrito. I was in a hurry and only had about 30 minutes to eat so I politely informed them when I ordered– about 7 minutes later I had an huge burrito in front of me waiting to be devoured. About 7 inches of tortilla stuffed to the max with rice, beans, beef and some tomatoes that I requested. Faaannnntastic! I still can’t believe it but I actually managed to scarf the whole thing down! One of the better burritos that I’ve ever had and i will most certainly be back soon when i have more time so that I can actually slowly enjoy their awesome burritos instead of scarfing it down like an inmate who just escaped the crappy prison cafeteria.

I’ve been coming to this place for aboit a year now since I work down the street. The other reviews on this place have it dead wrong. To really enjoy mexican food you have to eat like a mexican. Carne asada plates and tacos are just the tip of the iceberg, and are nowhere near the quality of the homemade homestyle dishes they offer. Comeon now… you can get tacos and carne asada anywhere in this town– So of course they will all taste (o-​k) or mediocre. For you to truly rate thos place you need to try there daily soups or some chile verde or even their camarones diablos (devil shrimp).which is my fav. by the way. Everything tastes homemade, not processed, and fresh… plus they serve nice portions. Try this place if you’re in the area. you won’t be disappointed.

Decent food. Good service. Nothing too special but okay for a quick bite.

Great local restaurant! The food is always fresh and made to order. Burritos are huge and filling! The nachos are family size and by far my favorite item on their menu. Their Horchata is delicious.

I just popped in for some beef tacos, and they were SO AMAZING!!! excellent authentic Mexican-​style beef, perfectly seasoned and tender to boot. incredible deal for fantastic taste. seriously.

I was craving some Mexican when I came across El Bronco Taqueria. It is located in a run down strip mall and does not have the most welcoming appearance, but sometimes those places are the hidden gems. I was wrong! El Bronco Taqueria was not that good, and not a place I plan on visiting again. The interior is much more spacious than it appears from the outside. There is plenty of new looking booth seating and a wall mounted flat screen TV, yet the place feels like it needs a major overhaul in both the interior and on the exterior. What really made the restaurant appearance unattractive to me was that they seemed to have random junk laying around, especially in the ordering area. Thankfully I had planned to take my food to go.

I ordered the Carne Asada taco plate, which came with rice, beans and chips. Everything was mediocre, and the equivalent of average Lunch Truck food. The only difference was the price; it cost about $ 9 for my plate without a drink. Just not worth it in my opinion.
El Bronco Taqueria just didn’t do it for me, so on to the next one.

It’s not great, it has its ups and downs, and yeah I’ll be back to try again. I stopped in for lunch, and there wasn’t much of a crowd. The first thing I noticed is it’s a lot bigger and nicer than I expected. There was something about the layout that I didn’t like. I asked the guy about their $ 10 minimum in cards, and he said to just use debit. No problem. I got the carne asada. It’s my personal belief that the carne asada will tell you everything you need to know about a taqueria.
The people were really nice, but warned me about the hot sauce. I still got some extra to go, and he reiterated, «It’s hot, so watch out.» Well I like it very hot with big flavor. Too many places just throw a bunch of habaneros in and call it hot.
They weren’t kidding! It’s really hot! But very good. I’m glad I got extra. They give it to you in plastic baggies. I’d prefer some more class, but I’m not above this. It’s a taco place!
Sad to say, the carne asada wasn’t great. It was good, and with the salsa I really liked it. But I don’t imagine I’d like it much on its own.
I’ll go again since it’s close to home. The hunt for good burritos on the Westside is still on.

I must be transitioning to an alternate reality. I’ve been eating at vegetarian establishments and my girlfriend is having taco cravings. I thank Cactus #2’s pastor for hooking her, now I can eat more tacos!
We were hungry and heading home when I learned of this taco craving from the passenger seat so we cruised Venice looking for a shop. We weren’t having much luck and I was going to try to persuade her to try this pupuseria at Venice & Hauser when lo and behold, the pupuseria I was thinking of had turned into El Branco Taqueria.
We decided to eat in and the space was suprisingly large (compared to what I was expecting). They easily had a dozen tables, of which only one was being used by a couple guys eating albondigas. I think all the tables were booths if I recall, nicely padded, although some tears and exposed padding were evident. The staff is friendly, and the complimentary chips and salsa was good, the salsa was smoky with a kick. El Burrito Jr.‘s salsa might have more of a kick, but it was a nice try.
The tacos were good, but that may have been some of the healthiest al pastor I’ve seen in a long time. Usually there is copious grease that soaks into the torillas and makes everything so good, but there was no grease here. The lack of grease didn’t make them much worse for wear, they were still tasty. The asada was also good, but not stellar by any means.
Overall a decent stop for authentic Mexican. I might have to make my way back some morning for machacas.
