This man is quite possibly the kindest, most empathetic and ‘human’ doctor in LA. He’s extremely knowledgeable about medications and can explain most of them and their history at the drop of a hat. He’s also a ‘less is more’ guy — so he’s not just going to write you a bunch of prescriptions or send you for unnecessary and expensive tests. He’s open to Eastern medicine and alternative therapies. I get the sense that he’s someone that is open to trying anything to heal the root causes of issues his patients have, but will lay down the law when things get serious. He’s clearly above and beyond his area of expertise, but there is no arrogance or coldness. He has the best ‘bedside manner’ I’ve seen from any doctor and should be teaching other doctors how to be human. Linda, who works at the front desk is an absolute doll. She’s kind and open. I was sitting in the waiting room(for all of ten minutes) and every patient that came in was greeted in an open and friendly way and, she seemed to know all their names! I cannot recommend this office enough. I only wish that I could go to Dr Davies for any ailment I might have in the future rather than some of the numpties I’ve had the misfortune to meet in this town.

I’m a major fan of Dr. Davies, because he helps me to get cranio-sacral manipulation and bodywork that has, over just a few years brought my chronic daily headache from a pain level of a baseline(I’m talking all day, all night 24/7, not including spikes) of 6−7÷10 to an easy to handle 3−4÷10. Now if, for any reason, I miss more than one session in a row, the baseline goes up, so I know that these therapies do in fact have a positive impact. And the spikes above baseline, which used to happen several times a day, 6 months into this therapy lessened to once or twice a week, and now happen once to three times a month. Dr. Davies is a neurologist(not on Unilocal’s list of choices), and also supervises several physical therapists, whose work he prescribes, so it can then be covered by most(but not all) major insurers(including Medicare). Doug works in an office with another well-trained MD who has taken up alternative medicine and combines the best of east and west. Also in the office are 3 more Chiropractors with diverse backgrounds and practices and a number of skilled therapists with their own specialties, any of whom might answer the phone if they happen to be in the office when Linda is not. Linda is the Office Manager, a friendly, kind, and helpful greeter who will go out of her way to accommodate you if she can. The trip to Mid-Wilshire, next to the Israeli Peace Plaza, in the shadow of the Peterson Building, just west of the Miracle Mile, is worth every minute it takes for the care, comfort, confidence, and relief I find at the hands of Doug Davies and the people who create suite 701. Cons: Dr. Davies is only in 3 days a week, and sometimes only 6 days a month. The therapists are in on a more regular schedule, and I only need to see Dr. Davies occasionally so that he can evaluate my progress, so that’s not really an issue for me, but it could be a consideration for some. Linda is good about finding a connection, though.
