Dos Aguilas Bakery puts out the best Mexican Pan Dulce in East Los Angeles. I have tried so many other bakeries but none ever come close. I always compare all sweet breads to Dos Aguilas’. I always go back to them. Their bread is baked throughout the day, so you can always get it fresh. Their sweet breads are light, airy, soft, and so buttery delicious. You have to try it.

Still the best Conchas. They have these cream filled donuts which are soft like pillows.

Great and fresh pan dulce! I love to stock up on the snacks also. There’s small cereal boxes, orange juice, and even boxes of Clif Bars! I was shocked there was organic milk and eggs! I’m shopping here from now on.

Los Angeles is like little Mexico, 44% of the population is Hispanic. With that being said, you would think finding good pan dulce, good tamales and plenty of excellent mexican restaurants wouldn’t be a problem. Well it is. Now that I’ve given you a census update, let me just say this is the best pan dulce ever. I’ve been eating it since I was mini and I’ve had pan dulce from everywhere! Other bakeries, lots of marketas, restaurants, etc. etc. The pan here is fresh, soft and it must be made with a lot of butter because it tastes amazing! It’s like Paula Deen Pan Dulce. Top Notch. Anything less than 5 stars is blasphemy! Now excuse me while I make my way to Dos Aguilas for some pan on this cold, sunless day to have with my Abuelitas hot chocolate =)

Wow, I’m really surprised that this small neighborhood bakery made it on here. Panaderia Dos Aguilas is a tiny little no nonsense storefront bakery, which serves up authentic Mexican bread and pastries. Everything is made fresh on site, and there is nothing else fancy about it. It goes without mentioning that this place serves up «pan dulce.» Come here to get your«conchas» — turtle-shaped, Mexican sweet rolls with a sugary pattern on top. You can get something like 5 for a dollar. These are really good. You can eat them«as is» or broken up into small pieces and dunked in milk for a good dessert. I remember going here as a kid. I recently paid a visit to this place, and I saw that it hasn’t changed a bit. Although there are probably other fine panaderias in the neighborhood, this one stands out.
