So i heard about this place some time ago and was in the area and decided to try it. Like people say it’s nit a fancy place but it’s a good food place they grill the fish and meat over mesquite charcal that gives it that smokey flavor that when i ate the fish it reminded me of sitting by the beach back home. the carne adada is a full plate with rice beans and tortillas, the fish only comes with a small side of beans and tortillas . Overall i think it’s descent food and tha service was very friendly and quick. Btw i also had the pupusa revuelta with was full of the good stuff. Horchata was ok a little too sweet for me.

Love this place I been coming here since I was little kid amd i still keep on coming back it feels like your back in El salvador enjoying the food people sell from their home. I highly recommend all their food. From the mojará frita to the pupusas. And don’t forget to try their Atol de Elote it’s the best so far that I have tried here.

The food here is really good. If you’re from El Salvador or have been there you would know why this place looks the way it does.

Whenever we go to LA, we get pupusas since there’s no decent pupusa place that we know of in the SF Bay Area.(My husband is Salvadorian.) This place looks like an abandoned shack, but has the best pupusas we’ve had so far. The best part is their curtido and salsa. We phone order pupusas to go before we head back north and they have our order ready with tons of curtido and salsa. The only complaint is that since they put hot pupusas in styrofoam to-go containers, the top and bottom of the containers melted. So some of our pupusas got yucky flavor from them. I wish they’d switch to paper or recycled plastic containers by next time.

100% Salvadoran. This is one of the few Salvi places out there that you want leave the pupusas alone. Try anything and everything else. The specialty of the house is the Mojarra Asada. My favorite favorite thing is the Atol de Elote. Try this place, you won’t be disappointed.

My mom and her BFF have been raving about this place for years! They are both Salvi and cooks for that matter so I had to check it out. It did not dissapoint. The food is delicious! Authentic is the only way to describe it. It is a humble set up but if you get a chance to meet the owner Don Lencho you will see it suits him perfectly. I loved it, the only reason for the 4 stars is our waitress dissapeared after serving us and we literally had to get up to catch her attention each time we wanted something. But the food def 5 stars.

So this place is definitely not upscale or have any frills ATALL. But if you want BOMB fried fish and pupusas this is the place to go. Yes of course they wouldn’t be able to pass any type of health inspection, but the food is delicious and the ambiance takes you back to any latino kickback you’ve ever encountered. I recommend this if you are down to earth and like to kick it in a very Mexican/Central American environment.

In order to correctly review Don Lencho, the ambiance of the restaurant itself must be properly noted. The dining area of Don Lencho is as rustic as it gets. The only dining area is outside which leaves you at the mercy of an abundance of flies. The tables are portable style picnic tables and chairs, for many takeout may be the only option. Fortunately for Don Lencho, they have the BEST pupusas I have ever had! Seriously the pupusas here blow everything out of the water! Amply filled masa paired with a good curdito and tomato sauce served piping hot, Don Lencho is no joke! For the squeamish Don Lencho may be a leap of faith, this is one leap I can fully endorse. on first bite, any concerns of the location(which has a A rating) or service(never had an issue myself) will completely disappear in favor of food that truly stands above the competition! My advice: Go to Don Lencho, practice your spanish ordering Pupusas(all choices are delicious), ignore the flies and enjoy the best pupusas in Los Angeles!

What happened? Their pupusas were my favorite but today I only received masa! I wasted money and 30 minutes waiting

I love these pupusas! My favorite ones are the revueltas and the frijoles con quezo, mmmmm. The ambiance is so crappy looking but come along with great friends and family and you won’t pay attention to that detail. There are some vendors that sell some goodies on the side too, so don’t be alarmed if they come say hello.(they are not going to jack you for your stuff, just your $, lol, if you buy something of course). If you like the chorizo, then you must order some here! They are $.50 each little ball and make sure you make an order of their home made tortillas too. YOUWILLNOTBEDISAPPOINTEDWITHTHEFOOD!!! Trust ME! ENJOY!

BESTPUPUSASINLOSANGELES. Forget all the other wannabe pupuserias. That perfect pupusa you’ve been searching for. This is where it’s at. The place is a ghetto shack, kind of dirty looking with horrible parking. But don’t even worry about that. Once you start eating, everything around you turns golden. You’ll never want to eat pupusas anywhere else again. They’re not small. They are perfectly filled. They are served HOT and right away. The FLAVOR is extremely satisfying. Everything about their pupusa is spot on. the sauce, the curtido. The second best thing to Don Lencho’s pupusas is the grilled fish. REALFISH, real flavor, comes right off the bone. just excellent with a pinch of salt, a squeeze of lemon and hot grilled jalapenos with fresh-made tortillas. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and they still taste the same! Legendary pupusas you guys… Does not get better than this.

Not your typical 5 star location but 5 star food and service. I did a Unilocal search for Pupusas and Don Lencho Restaurant came up. I decided to make the drive since I was in the area. The neighborhood is not the best location but they have parking onsite in the back. When you enter they have no menu so just take a seat and ask the server what the serve. I recommend the Pupusa Revuelta(mix– cheese, beans, and chicharrón{ fried pork}) and Pupusas the queso(cheese) and frijol(beans). They will deliver to the table curtido made from marinated cabbage, carrots, onion, dried red pepper, oregano, olive oil, salt, brown sugar and salsa de tomate(Tomato Salsa). You can’t go wrong with these handmade Pupusas. Also, order the Horchata, a refreshing drink made with rice, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. Delicious! So, if you are willing to make it to the hood and not intimidated by the location, come try it.

Man oh Man! I LOVE this place! My family and I have been coming here for YEARS! The location isn’t exactly the greatest, the parking is horrendous, and the actual restaurant itself is more like someone’s backyard. BUT the food! My GOODNESS! The pupusas are so fluffy and cheesy and full of Salvi goodness. Try the revuelta if you like pork, or a simple cheese one if you don’t. You really can’t go wrong with your choice. The mojarra is also an excellent choice, very juicy and full of flavor and the carne asada is very tender and… you guessed it FULLOFFLAVOR!!! So order a Cola Champagne(never had the atole de elote, but I might have to try it based on the other reviews) and go to town on the food! I would recommend the pupusas since they are my favorite. Ordering for take-out is very easy, I get the feeling they get a lot of take out orders. As I mentioned before, the restaurant not the best. Please be sure to tip them if you order out, they’re still providing a service and in the 7+ years we’ve been frequenting they’ve never gotten our order wrong :)
