I would never give 5 stars unless I absolutely meant it. I had serious health issues that needed prompt attention. My doctor highly recommended and set up Dr Josephson to handle my double surgery in November 2015. He did it robotically. The surgeon has to be highly trained to do this. That means there is no one standing over you. Instead, the surgeon is about ten feet away performing surgery on a video screen. The benefits of this type of surgery include no large incisions, quicker healing time, and less pain during recovery. To say that Dr Josephson is not only a caring doctor/​surgeon but an artiste is an understatement. Today, I am recovered and feel great. I also feel lucky that my Dr was astute enough to recommend Dr Josephson.

Met Dr Josephson at City of Hope, after kidney cancer diagnoses. Subsequent robotic Nephrectomy (kidney removal), was minimally invasive; out of hospital in 3 days, requiring only nurse visits. Followed Dr Josephson to TOWER UROLOGY (CEDARS SINAI) for continued cancer treatments. Continues to impress with follow ups, and

dr josephson represents all that is right about being ‘your’ doctor. his care of his patients is not about his surgical skill and abilities. he personalizes the attention it takes not only to get the ‘case’ done, but he makes sure before, during and afterwards that the patient’s needs are met.
this is very hard to do in today’s digital world.
as a much older surgeon i put trust in dr. josephson to perform my surgery. his attention to the patient is the reason he succeeds.

Dr. Josephson is a God-​send. And this is coming from an atheist. His bedside manner is better than Mother Teresa and he follows up better than a salesman on pure commission. Highly recommend!!!

Dr Josephson really came through for me in a big way. I had months of blood showing up in my urine and my Doctor was not doing anything but trying to find an infection that I didn’t have. I am a female over 55 and a smoker, and found out this puts me at a greater risk for bladder cancer, as wells an Uncle who had it at my age. Dr Josephson saw me promptly, was responsive to my anxiety, and gave me the appropriate tests. The office is busy –busy, yet friendly and professional. His assistant was warm and personable. He was caring and sharp. I felt 100% confidence in him and his team and lucky to have found him.

Dr. Josephson is great. I always know I am in good hands when I go there. Highly recommend!

All I can say is THANK GOODNESS for Dr. Josephson! After months of problems, Dr. Josephson relieved me of my symptoms quickly and easily.
Without going into too much detail, I was having trouble urinating for quite some time. I had seen a few doctors but none could correctly figure out the problem. Finally, I came to see Dr. Josephson. Admittedly, I was shy and nervous to discuss my problems, yet again, with another doctor… but Dr. Josephson was very professional and made me feel comfortable right away. He was honest and straight forward and had a generally great attitude. This was very encouraging considering my disappointment with other doctors to that point. Fortunately, Dr. Josephson administered a few diagnostics tests and, long story short, my symptoms have been adequately treated.
I am very grateful for Dr. Josephson’s care and help. I would highly recommend him to friends and family.

I’m an insurance company’s dream because I’ll see doctors only when I think it’s very serious. I won’t be going unless I check their reviews on Unilocal.
I went to see doctor Josephson based on good reviews I saw on here and the fact that he re-​addressed a patient’s negative review, told me that he cares and wants to be the best at what he does, and if patients aren’t happy, he’ll address it and deal with it.
I told the receptionist I needed to see the doctor (very important),
my appointment was 9:30 am. next day.
She made sure I was seen, that’s a plus.
I was 15 minutes late and called them, no problem.
This is a huge office with a lot of staff.
I was greeted by a stunning mixed African American woman with a smile, she was just fantastic, I loved her.
The doctor’s bedside manner was exceptional, he listened intently and appeared caring. He asked questions, I was examined and samples were taken.
The experience was pretty good.
Now, I don’t think I’m dying (yes I’m dramatic)

The women who check you out and schedule appointments and collect payment at the end of the visit, well, they weren’t friendly, more standoffish and looking at you up ad down, which is why I gave it a 4 star but that’s the overall office and not the doctor himself.

My godfather had prostate cancer surgery in 2001, all this time, we thought he was free and clear of the disease until his last PSA evaluation in early 2011 (just in time for our move back down in CA).
Dr. Josephson was highly recommended by a good friend of ours, we set an appointment with him and briefly discussed what’s going on, he was very nice and comforting, he sat down with my godfather and discussed with him all the treatment options, side-​effects and probabilities of beating the disease again, he was very kind and understanding which we very much appreciate especially in tough times like such. We are very grateful to Dr. Josephson for the recommendations and referrals that he did on that first consult, We are thankful that my godfather didn’t have to go through such invasive surgery again. Even though the radiation therapy had such an uncomfortable side-​effects with my godfather, he is just thankful that he didn’t have to go under the knife once more.
We need more doctors like Dr. Josephson, someone who reviews the medical history and case thoroughly before immediately jumping into such invasive conclusion, He is very knowledgeable of his field and has real compassion for his patients.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Josephson. He is the best doctor we have ever encountered. My husband was just recently diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on his kidney and Dr. Josephson has been so helpful through this process. Dr. Josephson is THE MAN!!! He did everything he could to help us get this surgery done fast so that my husband would be ok and live a long life. Every time I called to leave a message with my questions or concerns, he would personally contact me within 24 hours. He genuinely cares about his patients. When you are in his office, Dr. Josephson always makes you feel comfortable. He listens to you and answers all your questions. He never makes you feel like he is in a hurry. Finding a doctor who sincerely cares about his patients is not common, but that was what we found with this doctor. I would recommend Dr. Josephson to anyone. Dr. Josephson and his staff are very good people and we love them.

Went to several urologists to try and determine the best course of action for my elevated PSA and high Gleason score. Should I do radiation seeds, traditional surgical prostate removal, robotic assisted removal, or cautious waiting. After meeting with Dr. Josephson I felt very re-​assured that he offered the best methodology and hope for full recovery. He got me moved up in line at City of Hope because of the severity of the lab results; I did my pre-​op and a few days later was admitted for same-​day surgery, which was to be the Robotic-​Assisted Laparoscopic Prostatectomy. Spent a few hours after surgery later that evening in recovery and was then taken to a private room.
The next day, Thursday, Dr. Josephson explained that the cancer had spread to the outer margins, so I had made a wise decision to move forward as quickly as I did. On my own I researched and realized that had I elected a different procedure, the majority of the cancerous area would have gone undetected, since it was on the back/​far side of the prostate which had not been detectible or reachable with any biopsy procedure.
The following afternoon was allowed to go home and, believe it or not, walked unaided into the Studio City CVS to pick up post-​operative prescriptions. Was driving and back to work within a few days.
More than three years has passed and my PSA has stayed at «0» (zero/​undetectable) as verified by different physicians at different facilities and labs.
Would definitely recommend David Josephson, M.D. for any urological problems and would look for no one different to perform the diagnosis and/​or surgery.

I was under active surviellance for prostate cancer for three years. I did all the research and felt robotic surgery was the best bet. I also met with Dr. Josephson to get an idea what I was up against. I am a 62 year old male in good physical shape. I run 3 – 4 miles daily.
I had the surgery May 4^th and was walking 8 hours later. I was sent home the next day with a catheter. This was less of an issue than I could have imagined. I returned 5 days later and they pulled the catheter. I am cancer free and peeing normally. Dr. Josephson is a great surgeon. I highly recommend him, as he has done between 1 – 2 thousand of these da vinci procedures. If you want a cutter, find the guy that has done and seen the most.

Just a little update: I’ve been diagnosed with a fairly serious urological problem (I won’t go into detail, but it’s not fun) that Dr. Josephson completely missed because he honestly did not listen to me. I can’t think about it too much or I get really, really angry. On top of missing a serious diagnosis, his office billed me for $ 20 more than what my insurance says I owe him.
