I learned about Cut Carat from a close friend, and I could not be happier with the craftsmanship and quality of the ring and diamond I purchased. Alex and his team were extremely patient and helpful throughout the process. They provided me with many options, and also answered my questions on stones and price options from competitors with thoughtfulness and care.
My fiancé and I are both ecstatic over the ring and band they designed (bands are custom). Beyond their knowledge and craftsmanship, the personalized service and care they provided was what pushed the experience from good to great. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone, without reservation.

I started my search for an engagement ring by going straight to Unilocal.This place was ranked pretty darn high, and the reviews were fantastic. Cut Carat did not disappoint.
Important note: Cut Carat does not have a storefront. You work with Larry over the phone to design your ring, and he will recommend you browse some rings at other locations to assist in making your decision.
I gave the business a call, left a message, and quickly received a call back from Larry. He was incredibly patient and enthusiastic about creating a ring for me that would meet all my requirements. I explained at a high level what I was looking for (based on some sly conversations with the now-​fiancé). He emailed me several options for the stone (all with respective measurements and costs), and he sent over a bunch of options for the setting. At last I made my choice, and he sent me a sketch of the ring — it looked great. I still had a few questions, which he answered honestly and satisfactorily. Although he’s based in downtown, he further demonstrated his strong customer-​service focus by accommodating my request to pick up the ring closer to my work in Santa Monica. I picked the ring up — it was perfect, and my fiancé loooooooooooves it.
Later, when my fiancé needed to get it re-​sized, he scheduled the appointment with her and did the re-​sizing quickly and at no charge.
Ultimately, this was an excellent experience, and I would definitely recommend Cut Carat to anyone looking for the ring.

Larry was great to work with and I really trusted his expertise. He was able to mock up my design in 3D which was neat so I could see exactly how the piece was going to look. Can’t wait to design my next piece!

Couldn’t ask for more! Honestly! I’m used to walking into a jewelry store, being dissapointed with their selection, and leaving empty handed. But that’s not the case with Cut Carat. Their whole concept revolves around the idea that you can customize your very own piece of jewelry and that’s exactly what I did! I designed my very own necklace and I love it! It’s easy to do, great prices, and a lovely team of people to work with. I couldn’t be happier, definitely coming back!

I actually heard about Cut Carat from a friend of mine in Los Angeles. I was helping a friend of mine find a ring for his fiancé and we checked out the site together. It was pretty easy to get in touch with them and the guy Larry was really helpful. He ended up deciding to buy a ring with them considering the price was great, it was exactly what he wanted, and he liked the personalization he was getting. It didn’t feel weird at all to be getting the ring from a website because they were seemed knowledgable and straightforward. He’s really happy about it, and best of all, SHE SAID YES!

Their level of professionalism was like WHOA. Aaron, Alex and Larry slayed me with their attention to detail. Got my husband’s custom wedding ring there and they were right on top of it with all of our questions morning, noon and night and what we ended up with with totally unique and of perfect quality. It was slightly tricky in that is was a hammered custom fit thicker band. They nailed it without hesitation. Not to mention they’re cool and easy going and fun to talk to. Overall, I would say I’d definitely come back but this time I’m getting something for myself. Ya know?

Cut Carat offers a user friendly, 1^st class product for a tooootally reasonable price. They really care about getting it right for you, and taking you through the process step by step so your always informed and never overwhelmed.

One word: AMAZING! This is the deal… On our 25^th Wedding Anniversary, my husband bought me an amazing diamond ring. It was from an estate sale and it was definitely one of a kind. The problem is that I have two daughters who both wanted this ring as part of their inheritance. It was becoming an issue and then I came across Cut Carat through a friend of mine on Facebook. They said they could make an exact replication of the original ring and then I would have one for each of the girls! I was a bit concerned about the quality of the duplicate, but when I received the ring, I couldn’t believe my eyes! It was gorgeous and to tell you the truth… when I put them both on… I cannot tell anymore which one was the original and what was the duplicate! Problem solved… everyone happy… thanks Cut Carat :)

When looking for diamond jewelry, most folks insist that they «have a guy», but that’s like saying I «have a car» when someone asks me for a ride. Yes, there are lots of diamond and jewelry sellers and retailers out there and many of them quite good, but I actually went through the process of meeting all recommend sellers — a process which took me to NY, Chicago, and LA — and it turns out that the folks at Cut Carat are simply the best because they take the time to educate, it’s no pressure, and they seem to genuinely want me and their other customers to be happy when walking out the door. For important and expensive purchases like an engagement ring, I cannot imagine better folks to work with. Highly recommend for engagement rings, diamond jewelry, and special gifts for someone who really deserves it!

Larry at Cut Carat was very good to me throughout the engagement process. I taught myself the basics of diamond choice, I explained to him at a high level the way I saw the tradeoffs, and he hand selected 3 diamonds for me that gave me the exact choices that made sense given what I wanted. After looking around for comparable diamonds to those 3, I was very confident I was saving vs. other well known low priced sources for engagement rings. The custom designed ring looked great, and when my wife wanted to redesign it, Larry paid a fair price for the original band and gave us a brand new one that was perfect for my wife. Couldn’t say anything better about Larry and Cut Carat. Feel comfortable that you’re in good hands.

Cut Carat is awesome! Larry custom designed the perfect engagement ring for (my now) wife. I had idea of what i wanted and he created it! I picked out the exact diamond i wanted, then a short time later he emailed me a computer rendering of the final ring. Not to long later, i was picking it up. It looked better than I could have imagined. She loved it (her friends did to).
Additionally, a couple of weeks later he was also able to designed a custom band to match the ring.

Let’s be honest… Shelling out that dough is a BIG DEAL. Cut Carat made it a smooth process start to finish. They provided me with sketches and renderings beforehand so I could see and approve my custom piece. They explained every part of the design. Answered every frantic call I made and questions that I had.
