With 20 years of experience in the field, our techs conduct inspections with full knowledge of all automotive vehicles’ computers and emissions systems to ensure high quality services to all of our customers.

We avoid making mistakes many other new stations make, such as not properly warming up before testing or making errors with equipment, both of which can cause a car to fail smog check.

My boy Choi is the man. Not sure if that’s even his name but seriously. Drove my old beater over to his shop to get my mandatory 2 year smog check & I was very pleased. No one else in front of me so was in & out in less than 20 mins. $ 50 is what I paid for a certified star inspection. I’ll definitely be visiting Choi’s for any future inspections.

Quick, easy. Getting in the parking lot is a little crazy. Please drive REALLY BAD on that part of town. But the owner will help you back in and back out of the parking area.

Took my 2008 Toyota yaris in today for a smog checked. Arrived around 12:18 after leaving another smog check place on Venice whose guy was on a lunch break. He gave me a special and only charged me 40 when it’s normally 45. I was driving off the lot at 12:25.

It’s that time of the month for pesky smog checks. Drove here not expecting anything and it was so fast and convenient! There was one person ahead of me but I didn’t have to wait long. My whole trip was less than 10 minutes, I was in and out! The owner of the place is an elderly man but it’s very clear that he’s good at what he does. There’s old photos of him working along the wall to prove it :)

Choi is amazing! The prices for a smog are the best in LA! I was suppose to get my car smogged (I thought). But then he told me it wasn’t necessary since my car was 2013 I had a good 5 years before I came back for another one! He’s the best I only go to CHOI =)

$ 40 bucks for a smog test.
There was a person ahead of me, but he finished the girls smog check fairly quickly and tested on my car right after. They have a delicious korean crackers in the waiting area. Yum.
He also sent in the report to the DMV so all I had to do was to pay for the registration.
Get in, get out, get on with my life.

Zero complaints! If you need a smog test, just come by during business hours which are long and get it done. It was $ 40 for my car. I walked in gave it to them, gave them the form, signed the invoice and paid and in less than 10 minutes I walked out with a pass. Wish everything in my life was this easy and fair.

Excellent! Fast, easy and polite. Nice little waiting area. No fuss, I was out in ten minutes. PLUS — cheaper than any other smog test place I’ve been to. Choi Smog Test turned this usually dreaded task into a breeze!
And what’s extra cool is that they are right across the street from the Galleria Korean mall that has an awesome huge grocery store with the best fresh fish with guys who will fillet the fish for you right there!
Going to get my smog test turned into a happy adventure:)

Quick, cost effective, and honest. I had a not-​so great experience with another smog place last week which I also reviewed. Tech at Choi smog checked to make sure my computer was reading properly before he ran the test! — A move that would have saved me money had i gone here last week! There is a small waiting area in the garage. Whole thing including computer pre-​check took about 12 minutes. Credit card is accepted w/​o hassle and results are sent directly to DMV. Great visit… I very much appreciate the honesty and tech taking the time to do a quick check rather than just trying to scam me out of money. Definitely will come back for my next smog check on my other car. FYI: Whole shebang cost me $ 40 and free re-​test is included if you fail the first time around. Wish I had come here to begin with!

Believe the Unilocal reviews, this is an all-​around fantastic experience. Having an older car that needs Star certification, I’ve started avoiding places offering «Smog And Repair» checks since those places often find something to repair. This place solely does Smog check tests. The owner is straight to the point, but friendly, and has a way with old rustbuckets like mine.
I was in and out within 10 – 15 mins, for about $ 60 all said and done, which the owner informed me was the going price on cars 20 years old. While that was more than I wanted to pay, I didn’t feel robbed, and most importantly, he got me out of there with a pass.

Pulled in on a Saturday morning around 10:20 AM as the owner/​operator was finishing up with another customer. They left, he said hello, took the keys, asked us to wait in the waiting room. Before we knew it he said he was done, we paid him the $ 40.00 and we were out of there and back on the road in about 8 minutes! Fast and furious.
NOTE: the complimentary waiting room amenities that other Unilocalers have mentioned and shown are gone, but that’s not what you come here for. Besides, you’re in and out in record time. And for the low end of the going rate.
P. S. To the Unilocalers who gave this business a negative review because he was supposedly ‘rude’ to them — you are a poor judge of character. He’s not rude, he’s a busy solo service provider with a let’s-get-down-to-what-you-came-here-for attitude. So he’s not a fantastic conversationalist, so what? You want to chit-​chat or make a new pal, go somewhere else.
