So sad to see that. I thing so the owner or manager never care about this place, they change the menu or chef to many times for no reason. They should stay with a French menu that’s all. This restaurant is a little diamond in a wall I thing. Sad sad sad Bye Chic

The saddest night ever, for Chic is closing tonight and in January they are reopening with a new concept restaurant. We have been coming for 7 years, my kid was 3! Sad to say, the event was anticlimactic. The service was poor, rushed, and we were lucky to be offered dessert vs the bill. Now I have to look for a new French bistro and the place was always busy, so I am not sure why they are changing their mission. If they wanted to change things up, they could of gone regional or seasonal. Je né sais pas! Bloom across the street should get a redo, not an established place like Chic.

I wish there were more restaurants like Chic — easy, but elegant. The food is excellent and just adventurous to always be exciting. A neighborhood bistro in a sort of small town model — unpretenious, friendly, but delicious. I’ve gone for low key weeknight meals with friends, taken my parents, and never had a dud meal or a bad experience. Crowd is most 30s-50s, in jeans.

The last year I have been going here it has actually immensely improved with food and menu. The prices have stayed reasonable, and I like sitting outside.

Food was amazing. Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts for an appetizer. Pork Chop and Flank steak were fantastic. Good selection of wine, would suggest the flight. Good for date night with expensive taste.

I have been meaning to review this place for a while now. After my 1,000th time(it feels like it) I am finally going to do it. I really enjoy coming to this place, like a lot. Food– The food here is just amazing, always new plates(which at times can be unfortunate because you wont find that ONE plate you just loved, I am hoping to try the crab soup they once had here again). The cooks seem to really explore with flavors and different tastes. I have yet to be disappointed at any dish. Interior– Décor here is pretty chill, there’s plenty of French art and frames up. Nothing too loud but pretty nice and chill. Staff/service– Definitely have great service here, at times though seems like its just the waiters that lose track of who they have checked on and who they haven’t. Make reservations because they are usually packed. Either way, I really enjoy this place and will be coming here in the future.

I had high hopes but received higher disappointments. We were trapped in the outside plastic sauna for over 2 hours. We were told there were no tables available inside, however table after table relocated to other tables inside. We placed our orders promptly but waited 90 minutes. We did receive some tasty appetizers and the food tasted good. During our experience there was a fire in the kitchen. I watched as the owner did nothing to help out and I hoped that our dinner was not impacted. After a 90 minute wait, and only after I asked did the maître d come and apologize for the delay offering 50% off. Our server was completely disinterested in our table, kept telling us it would be a few minutes, expressed his disgust with the lack of staff in the kitchen but did nothing to improve the situation. Finally, our steaks arrived. Mine had a pleasant taste, but it was overlooked and cold and the chilled sides were uneatable. They offered to heat it up, but what good would heating up an overlooked steak and I didn’t come to eat warmed up leftovers. I expressed my discontent and left, Horrible experience. Be careful as my dining patrons warned of the very slow service. Too bad, because I think the food could be good.

What an absolute GEM this place is! Although this establishment has been around for quite some time, we’ve just stumbled across it and could not be more thrilled! We’ve been looking for a good, close neighborhood restaurant and we’re thrilled to have finally found one! We tried it on 7÷17÷15 and went back with our son and good friend the next night, it was THAT good! The food is excellent, as is the wine list! The staff is lovely and so accommodating and friendly. So do yourself a favor and go check them out… You won’t be disappointed! We can’t wait to go back on Sunday for their«Steak Sunday» offer.

On lobster Tuesday, I had the poached lobster and hearts of palm salad. The name doesn’t do it justice. It was a sublime combination of delicate flavors that were superb. Highly recommended. The food my friend had and our dessert that we shared was also wonderful. Service was great. Can’t wait to come back and try other things like the beef Bourgogne or the lamb shank.

There are many times that I am asked the question of whether or not there are places in LA I still haven’t tried and evidently Chic stayed hidden from me many years. This cozy wine bar is a nice place for a glass of some well curated, mostly French wine. Whether you decide to sit indoors, on their front patio or the rear outdoors area, the friendly staff will find you and happily offer suggesting as well as great service. On my visit we opted for a carafe of the 2009 Los Clop«Reserva» Malbec, although the ’06 bottle of St. Emillion Grand Cru Château Larcis Ducasse looked mighty good. Perhaps next time? For our meal we decided to try the Paella Special and the Slow Beer Braised Lamb Shank served with Fregola, shiitakes, and what the menu described as a Gremolata. The lamb shank was cooked well, but could have used another 20 — 30 minutes for that melt-in-your-mouth-ness. The Fregola and mushrooms ended up being the best part of the dish — well seasoned and cooked al dente, but the so-called Gremolata just did not belong on the dish at all. In essence it consisted of three thin kumquat slices cured in pure salt. Awful by themselves and not that much better in a composed bite. As all chefs know very well, what makes a great paella is the rice. It must never be stirred and the paella should have a nice crispy pieces of rice served with every helping. The socarrat, as the crispy rice called, some argue is the best part of the whole dish. I’m sad to say that the rice was stirred, over cooked, and never had a chance to develop the socarrat. The flavors had nothing to do with a traditional paella and although it could have passed for a seafood risotto, it certainly wasn’t what I expected. That being sad the seafood atop the rice was only slightly overlooked and the dish had a nice background of heat. It should also be noted that the tapenade served with the bread was pretty sad. Besides having no flavor except for garlic, it seemed to have been made from black olives Pizza Hut uses as toppings. So my takeaway from this whole experience is perhaps it’s better to stick to appetizers and the great atmosphere instead of diving right into an entrée at a place I’ve never been to before. But there’s always the next visit.

My favorite restaurant in our neighborhood. I love all of their menu items. Please bring back the crab chowder… the BEST I’ve ever had. Since they add and change some of the soups I’ve only had it once from the times I’ve been there. The mussels, lamb, chicken are my favorites! Delish!!!

Excellent service(thx Nancy)! The best prices(mon-thurs happy hour)! Amazing food and wine!!! The choices are vast: you can be fancy or just in need of a quick bite, this is the perfect place. The bathroom is even suuuuuper nice and«adorable,» as my friend constantly told us until I went in to check it out(she was right). Date night or solo, Chic will take care of you!

Just found this place… Thought it was new, but they’ve been there 4yrs. Located on a strip of pico, where you’d never expect to find a nice french bistro. This place was spot on… the food, wine, service, no complaints. Nice room layout, simple and uncluttered. Went on a sun eve with a friend, so it wasn’t busy. Food: we ordered the beet salad to start… very nice. I need to start cooking beets again! A couple white Bordeaux’s to go with, both were lovely. Mains…I ordered the special, porchetta, and my friend had the beef bourguignon. Both were excellent! For the red wine were had a great half bottle of Bordeaux… fantastic legit Pomerol, for a reasonable price. Then a glass of another Bordeaux which was also great. It’s a serious QPR wine, that more people should be drinking! ;-). I highly recommend this place… will definitely be back!

Fast friendly service, small but good wine selection, and super tasty food. Had the gnocchi and the pork loin. The pork loin was good and the gnocchi was AMAZING. Was too stuffed for dessert but looking forward to trying some out next time. Def looking forward to trying this place again.

Short Review: Local & diverse wines; seasonal, diverse, medium-portioned dishes; intimate, low-light setting. Good for dinner, possibly lunch(but I’ve never gone for lunch). Longer Review: The Idaho Trout: Might be too salty for some, but tender, flavorful and not too boney(though the few bones are soft and edible, not to mentioned excellent for health). Good Paleo, low-carb, and/or ketogenic option, but bring extra fat source. Slow-cooked beef: Tender, filling. I asked the chef to go easy on the sauce, both for taste and to reduce carbohydrates. But you could probably order as-is and be fine. This is an example of one of their seasonal dishes(I think). Come with mashed potatoes, but the quantity is not huge. To be safe, I’ll say this is NOT keto-friendly. Notes: Limited seating. I’d suggest a reservation. Quaint and intimate. Impressive date spot. 1960s French theme design. The kitchen, managers and wait staff seem like a tight team. Accommodating allergen, modification requests. Somewhat Paleo-friendly. Limited for ketogenic and low-carb dieters. Same goes for Bulletproof enthusiasts.

I ate here for brunch. I had the Croque Madame and the Smoked salmon tartin open faced sandwich. Both were pretty darn good! Coming back for dinner for sure. I also had a little trouble with my order at first, which understandably happens, but the service was beyond outstanding and they fixed it like a pro.

Walked over for dinner. Nice to have a neighborhood place that is good food and a good atmosphere and for that I bumped them from 3 to 4 stars. We sat in the patio area out front as the restaurant inside was full. The patio was enclosed with canvas this evening and they had the heaters on, so it was quite lovely. I had the Roasted Gold & Red Beet Slad with Quinoa, baby greens, pinenuts and apple ccider vinaigrette($ 11). Note it is a good starter size, but not a meal size. My friend had the Coq au Vin(CHICKENWITHWINE) — which until I wrote this review I have spelled wrong all my life — lol! I liked the salad very much. My friend was use to more traditional Coq au Vin with a more red wine type sauce than a gravy type suace — if that makes sense — but he said it was good. It is not inexpensive, but reasonable — entrees range from $ 16 for a pasta to $ 30 for a meat dish. No dessert this visit, but I’m excited to go back and try the Brunch — their French Toast selections sound super good and I don’t know how I’d choose. Maybe they need a French Toast Sampler with little slider sized French Toast — just a suggestion ;). The service as good and the servers were friendly. By the time we left the patio was full, too. Know before you go… If you’re not familiar with the area it might appear a tiny bit seedy, but no worries, we walk around all the time and there is a benefit to a liquor store on every corner ;).
