So happy you came to my life. I know Michele as my customer for years, I have seen her when she was way up there and seen her when she was in her lows. This is a girl that never loses her humor or the smile on her face.
Finally the day came I was able to hire her as my party planner and It was a blessing, my party was perfect all guest were wondering who she is, the location, the entertainers, last minute changes that she took care of was a blast, I had a cigar roller cancelled on the day of and she replaced them within 15 minutes. That was great. Michele Without your magic I could have not survived I love you because you made me look so good and smart that day.

Since my wedding, Center of Attention has coordinated my friend’s wedding and my parents anniversary party. Thank you, thank you, thank you Michele and crew! You always knock it out of the park.

Three weeks before my wedding I had a bride’s worst nightmare: our caterer and day of coordinator started adding major costs to our quote and became impossible to work with. Needless to say I was in a complete panic! I called Alan Jackson Catering who put me in touch with Michele and Center of Attention Events. Best decision I could have made!
Not only did Michele calm my (and my Mom’s) nerves about this last change, but she was amazingly detailed and trustworthy through the entire process. She was upfront about fees, necessary staff, and alerted us immediately to any changes. She also had great insights to make sure that the day would run smoothly.
The day of the wedding went perfectly! From having beverages during our pre-​ceremony photos to greeting us with appetizers and champagne at the reception, we felt like absolute royalty because of Michele and her staff. Our reception courtyard looked magical and we didn’t have to worry about any detail– Michele thought of everything!

I have has the pleasure of working with This company on several small and large scale events. Probably one of the best event planners I’ve ever worked with.
They can turn your event into something special. They are creative and put together some amazingly unforgettable parties. I recall one great party at the home of Randolph Duke where they served Asian noodles in small takeout boxes and even featured his new book as a serving piece under a glass surface. Genius!
On another occasion they did an event al fresco in downtown L.A. for one thousand people! Made it look easy. There’s not a party they couldn’t handle. This company IMHO is highly recommended.

We saw Michelle and her crew at a friends wedding and my (now wife) and I used her services for our wedding in May. We could not be any happier with the outcome! Michelle is an AMAZING planner; absolutely accessible throughout the entire planning process, listened to our ideas and made them happen and gave us some of hers which were wonderful!
Her attention to detail was exceptional and the reception was spot on! DO NOT even think of using anyone else… you will love her and her staff.

After interviewing multiple wedding planners, we knew a few minutes into our interview with Michele that she would be planning our wedding. It was immediately apparent that she knows the event coordination industry like the back of her hand. Before we even booked her she understood our taste to the point that she was starting to identify which photographers, caterers etc she thought would best fit our style. She always provided options for all of the important decisions (but never too many). Her in-​depth knowledge and professional connections saved us thousands.
Michele is always present, really in the moment, while meeting with you. You are her top priority. It may seem like a small thing, but it’s not. In the chaos of planning a wedding, I can’t even describe how amazing it was to have a wedding planner that is a really good listener. At the same time, she’s able to think ahead and foresee details that I wouldn’t have thought about. Michele makes it happen. Whenever we would come up with what we thought were nearly impossible tasks, Michele never flinched. She truly caters to her clients needs, check-​lists, and wedding-​day wishes.
Here’s one example of Michele going the extra mile: The day after our wedding, one of my groomsmen realized he forgot his wallet at the venue in Malibu when he tried to check into his flight at LAX. Out of desperation, we called Michele to see if any of the vendors had found a wallet while cleaning up. They hadn’t. But Michele took it upon herself to drive back up to the venue in Malibu (keep in mind, she’s already been paid at this point) and search the premises. She found the wallet, sped down to LAX, and got it to my groomsman just in time for him to make his flight. (!!!)
Bottom line, Michele does this out of sheer passion. She has a heart of gold and really just wants her clients to have the best day ever!

Michele is a total sweetheart and is really a legend in the event planning industry. I have enjoyed working with Center of Attention events on numerous events and each one has been executed to the nines. Super sweet service, impeccable attention to detail and genuine care for the client makes this company a total winner!

I wish one could have the chance to give TEN stars to certain companies, because Center of Attention Events is the type that definitely deserves it.
We had a belated wedding party in San Diego and were on a pretty tight budget. Our venue was at a beautiful building in the downtown area. Michele has wonderful suggestions for anyone on ANY kind of budget — whether super high or low end, and is perfectly happy working with all of them and making everything beautiful. Our color scheme turned out so lovely because of her suggestions (I am not quite the girlie girl which would be helpful when planning something so beautiful!). She just thinks of all the little things and crosses the «t’s» and dots the «i“s. Anyway, our wedding venue ended up mixing up our scheduled date thanks to an administrative error. I was pretty freaked out and really upset with the building management as their mistake affected a lot of people attending our party — huge hassle. Michele could not have been more professional about it all and immediately started working on Plan B and C so we would be happy. It wasn’t her mistake but it didn’t matter to her — she was determined to make sure we had the most fabulous party, wherever and whenever it was going to be. We decided to change the day of our party to one day earlier and it worked out amazingly well with only one couple from out of town unable to attend. Our guests could not stop talking about how fabulous the food was — they continued sending us compliments weeks and weeks afterward, and the lovely hors d’ouevres, cocktails by the pool, and then dinner with a simply gorgeous color scheme, flowers, all of it — we could not have asked for more. The photographer she hired was wonderful — we were so happy with the photos which really captured the spirit of everyone on our night.
I would love to have the chance to hire Michele for any future parties and events. She clearly has loads of experience in the event planning world and nothing seems above her abilities. She is so caring and has a wonderful sense of humor to top it all off so working with her is truly a joy.

I used Center of Attention Events for my wedding. I feel the need to write this review after my experience. The fault is mine for believing their sales pitch to begin with. If I can save one person from wasting money with this company I will sleep better at night.
Here is a short list of things I overpaid for:
1. After convincing our priest to join us at the reception, I find out that my over priced wedding planner has screwed up the seating chart and left out our priest. I had to squeeze him in with a full table of 20 something bachelors. Please give me your 4 paragraph excuse as to how that was my fault. I’m really interested to hear how you twist the situation so you are guiltless. It would be so out of the question for you to bother double checking a seating assignment after I paid you $ 4,153 dollars to do just that. Is that not your job? What is it that you do?
2. My over priced wedding planner was so on the ball coordinating the event, that she had her «recommended» DJ announce the priest as the «FATHER of the Bride» when it was time to say a prayer before dinner. Such an easy mistake to make since the bride’s father was in a tuxedo and the priest was wearing a white collar and a crucifix. What’s that you say? Not your fault again? Maybe if you didn’t switch the position of the DJ the day of the wedding, without telling us, to the second story of the event hall, he would have been in position for ANYONE in the room to tell him that it was a Catholic Priest standing there and not the father of the bride.
3. That brings me to my next issue. YOUR recommended DJ was given a detailed 50 song list of specific songs to play, of which he played 4. But wait, couldn’t we just tell him what we wanted? NO, because you put him on the 2^nd floor of the event hall and he couldn’t hear anyone screaming at him to change the music. Who told you to change his position? It wasn’t me, the guy who paid you $ 4,135 to coordinate our wedding. So I guess you used your years of experience to make a judgment call of making the DJ totally inaccessible. Well done.
4. I paid an excellent local mariachi band to play a specific song for my bride and I to walk into the reception with. And guess what! As we walked up to the wide open double doors YOU shut the door in our face waving your hand at me that it wasn’t time to go in. So hand in hand my new wife and I stood outside in the hallway 6 inches from a set of double doors listening to our entrance song because YOU made another judgment call that it wasn’t time for us to walk in. Not your fault again? Explain to me how you thought it was better to shut the door in the face of the bride and groom right before they walked into the reception.
Am I being too harsh? Do these seem like minor events and I should expect things to go wrong at weddings? Maybe they were, but when you pay someone $ 4,153 to make sure these things don’t happen, they are a big deal.
I found the location. I negotiated the rate with the hotel. All you had to do was show up on the day and «coordinate» like it says in your job title. That’s what a wedding planner does. Not write 6 paragraphs of excuses as to how it «wasn’t your fault and you did so much extra», 19 months later.

We absolutely loved Michele and her team. At first, we wanted to go with a package that was essentially ‘Planner does everything’. After meeting with her, we thought she was beyond sweet and were excited to begin. However, after some more thought I believed that I was being lazy by not wanting to plan anything myself so I began to select vendors that the the venue had provided me with. As we crept close to the date, the stress began to set in and I realized there was no way I could this alone. One e-​mail to Michele is all it took and she was ready to be our Day-​Of coordinator. Not only did she perform those duties exceptionally well, she coordinated with the vendors way before-​hand to make sure everyone was on the same page and ready to go.
The day-​of, she was calm and collected and helped keep the atmosphere stress free and light-​hearted. Everything ran without a hitch and I am immensely glad we had her there with us, she truly helped make our day perfect. No problem was too much for her and she always presented herself professionally.
I highly recommend Michele and her team, and would certainly use them again!

Ummm… I don’t think so.
I called and asked how much they charge for their «Day of Coordinator» services. The lady told me they take my wedding budget and charge a percentage based off that. are you kidding me?!
So, apparently this company enjoys ripping people off? As a potential customer, I’m more interested in what services and quality they can offer. They are only interested in my total budget. If my budget were $ 50,000 or $ 20,000. their «commission» would differ significantly. Instead of explaining what kind of amazing services she could offer, the first thing she tells me is that they take a percentage of my total budget? She basically just tried sticking her hand in my wallet.

Just hired them again for my husband’s 40^th birthday. I am so excited already. We went to look at private homes to rent today. Beach view or city view? The question lingers. Just hearing all of Michelle’s exciting ideas made wish the party was next week. I can’t wait to see all of the surprises come together.

UPDATE: i spoke with Michele, the owner, and when she heard how unhappy i was (even before hearing all of the reasons) offered me back my entire deposit. she told me to call her on her cell phone at anytime if i ever needed help on my wedding, even though i didn’t want them as my coordinators anymore. MICHELE is the best! she deserves all the rave reviews i saw on citysearch and Unilocal

I can’t believe I’m the first to review!
I first found Center of Attention when I was helping my boss plan a corporate event. Michele & Christine were fabulous and made the planning part such a breeze. They were definitely able to accommodate with any budget. My boss loved their work and it was the little details that made the party special. Great job!
They are also the planners the Osborne family uses!
I will definitely use them for my future events.
