Get pumping mama’s, sorry no Papa’s allowed here. Cedars lactation Center is located in the North Tower on the 4th floor, within the NICU. After check/sign-in at front desk you’ll bypass heavy duty electronic double doors and find the private room. Only mom’s with NICU baby(ies) may enter this special area. The room has 4 areas to pump each set up with a comfy chair, stool to elevate your feet and privacy curtain. TV. is available but I believe it to be more peaceful when its turned off so you may Zen out during your 20 – 30 minute pump. They say, when mom is relaxed the milk will flow. And, remember, do not stare at your boobs; just turn on Medela(the pump) and kick back! Medical grade Medela Symphony pumps are available here and plenty of them. Each system is sanitized daily and bagged ready for use. The only thing you must remember to bring are your Medela Pump pieces; snapples(bottles) are available in room. On the back counter is a microwave and machine that dispenses hot water perfect when your ready to sanitize your pump pieces. Barbara, the lactation nurse, office is located here and she is an excellent resource to use for answer any questions pertaining to pumping and breastfeeding. NICU can be a stressful experience, having a separate area for us mom’s to do our thing, provide milk for our babies, makes life that much easier. Pump, snap-the-cap n go!
