Camp Gladiator

Just signed up for a partial CG schedule iafter a free intro lesson. Mixing up the workout routine with an outdoor component seems like its going to be enjoyable. Rain or shine! Hiram out in Santa Monica was friendly, funny, and encouraging. I felt a certain cohesion with the group after 1 class. The workout itself is fast paced and skews more cardio than strength. A great workout to get you in shape and keep you in shape. Probably not going to take it to the next level with single sessions but definitely a good workout. The group was small and I hope it stays that way.

Camp Gladiator has challenged me physically more than anything I have ever tried. I have always been mindful of exercise and staying in shape. But, after I had my daughter I was stuck in a lazy rut, and I did not work out for almost two years. My friends and family kept telling me to join their «Boot camp,» and after a few months, I decided to give it a try. It was the BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE (fitness-​wise)!! After not working out for a long while, the trainers were patient enough to work with me, modify, and CHALLENGE me. I noticed that overall, I was happier and more optimistic about my physical capabilities, and this positivity has spread into other aspects of my life.
Although I would train for half marathons, swim, and go to the gym, I always found myself getting bored with my workouts. I have been a member of CG for over a year, and I still get the same enthusiastic rush I got when I first started. The trainers are simply AMAZING. All of them are knowledgeable and provide challenging workouts. They are not like your typical 24-​hour fitness trainers who are on their phones, or simply trying to get commission. They GENUINELY care for their campers. I have worked closely under Jordan and Jr, who are both incredibly talented. Jr is the head trainer at the locations that I attend, and he has never repeated the same workout. I really don’t know how this guy comes up with this stuff! It is HARD!!! He definitely gives you a run for your money.
CG is like a small fitness family. We all hold each other accountable and motivate one another. It is truly a blessing to be part of the CG experience. CG Wut Wut!

CG literally got me back into working out after a 2 year hiatus (yes — that long) from consistently working out. It got me back to the days where I enjoyed exercise and staying active. I joined CG back in April 2012 and have not looked back. I honestly can’t imagine my life without it.
The trainers are fantastic — they encourage all of their campers regardless of everyone’s fitness levels. And with the plan that I’m on ($ 79/​month), I can go to as many camps in a given day or week. It’s fanastic.
And each trainer has a different style or emphasis on their workouts (some are heavy on the cardio and others add a bit more resistence training into their workouts) but it’s always intense but never any yelling.
I have to give a special shout out to Drew Juarez — he’s the best! His workouts are a great mix of cardio and resistence training. He’s always trying to change his work outs and is always available for any fitness question ranging from questions about diet to questions about injuries, etc. He genuinely cares about all of his campers’ health!

I loves me my Camp Gladiator (Westside). This is my 8^th camp and I’m still not bored. It’s GREAT to be working out outside, the thought of a gym, depresses me.
Hiram, our fearless trainer, gives us challenging + interesting workouts, he pushes us but also makes it fun, consequently I’ve never been in better shape. The other campers are fantastic too, they motivate me and make me want to show up every morning.

I absolutely LOVE Camp Gladiator. I go to as many camps as I want for the same price-​there are multiple camps in my area (north Hollywood) in cool park spots and always a blast.
Each trainer is different but AWESOME! My trainer, Shawn is Epic!!! Each workout is different every day even when I go to three camps in a day!
I have gained confidence in my athletics, trimmed down and made wonderful friends.
I love that we get tested before and after each month to see how we have improved in certain skills. It’s wonderful. I will never go back to the silly gym again!

I’m not the kind of girl that can get motivated to work out on her own. I got brought to Camp Gladiator by a friend for a trial session and fell in love.
Our trainer wasn’t a big beefy guy who yelled when I wanted to take a break, he was just our friendly neighborhood personal trainer, Shawn!
Here’s a few reason why I love CG:
1: Shawn and the other trainers I’ve worked out with are incredible. They create their workouts so that they’re unique and different everyday. You get an entire body workout each day! I never get bored or tired of the exercises. The trainers help you set realistic, personal goals and make sure you get there!
2: The times and locations are really the best part. You sign up for one price and you can go to multiple camps at multiple locations 6 days a week. Sometimes, when I’m feeling good, I catch myself at 2 camps a day, which is better than any fitness camp/​group workout/​class prices ANYWHERE!
3: Last, but not least, these trainers CARE. I’ve been coming for almost a year and have been through shin splints, whiplash after a car accident and random bumps and bruises. Rather than forcing you to go along with each part of the workout like a boot camp would, I was offered specific modifications for my injury that allowed me to strengthen myself without hurting myself more, or having to sit it out and not work out at all. We all encourage one another as a group and sometimes, work out hard enough to get a beer after ;) I mean, come on. EVERYONE needs a post workout beer, right?!
In short, sign up. SIGN UP! You won’t regret it. Working out with Shawn, JR, Jordan, Hiram and everyone else has changed my life and I couldn’t be happier.
CG, WHAT! WHAT!

Signing up for Camp Gladiator has to be one of the best decisions I’ve made in years. I want to paint a picture for you. I have been seriously exercise-​averse for most of my life, only working out in spurts here and there when I felt I was getting «out of shape». I’ve been a couch potato, not exercising at all unless you count hefting a beer bottle or a joint to my face exercise, HAHAHAA. I did not understand how to keep a consistent fitness routine because I hated everything about working out. I would see people jogging early in the morning and think these people were fucking nuts. I’d have gym cards that gathered dust and workout shoes with brand new soles. I’d dread every minute on the elliptical, constantly checking the countdown clock to see if I was done. I was so bored. You get the idea.
I signed up for this camp on a whim when they were having a promotion. I tried the Hollywood camp, not knowing what to expect. This workout is intense, vigorous, and unlike anything I’ve ever done. The first week was the worst, and I could barely move the next day. I pushed myself to come every other day and found that the second week was a little easier. I was challenged, but my body was responding and building endurance. I could tell instantly that I was getting better. Amazing.
I found myself actually enjoying the workouts and finding a bit of a «high» at the end. Shawn, the trainer, is hilarious, encouraging, and knowledgeable and will keep you focused and guided. I love the fact that all I have to do is show up, and you put yourself in their hands — they tell you what to do, how to do do it, and you follow through. There is no way I’d be able to construct a workout like this on my own, or be able keep it up. It is always different and interesting.
We are all different, and I think it’s important to try everything until you find something that works for you — this works for me, I’ve found that in addition to training my body it is also training my mind in a way. I am beginning to see fitness in a new light, and I am so grateful for what CG does. If you are looking for something new, I can’t think of a better thing to do for yourself. Don’t be afraid and don’t hesitate!

Camp Gladiator is the best option for a great workout, meeting new people and enjoying the outdoors!
As you can see with my other reviews I have tried a bunch of different options for working out and I would have to say this by far is the best yet! I love that once you pay you can go to any and all locations they offer. The trainers (Chelsea & Jordan) are great and you can tell they really have the knowledge to help you get in better shape. You will not get this great of a work out in the gym!
Camp Gladiators is for all levels of fitness and they never pressure you to go above your level if you aren’t ready. I know people get nervous when they hear boot camp but the encouragement you get from everyone attending the camp makes you want to work harder! There is no yelling just encouragement!
My only wish is that they open more night locations on the Westside! Working out next to the Ocean, you can’t get any better than that!

Camp Gladiator gets me out of bed in the morning! I typically go to the studio city camp (Trainer Dave rocks!) but all the various times/​locations are handy for times when I can’t make my usual workout or want to pack an extra bootcamp into my week! The workouts are challenging but everyone goes at their own pace so it’s perfect for people at all levels and everyone is so encouraging!

I love how many locations they have, and they’re growing! I’ve been waiting for something closer to home, but making out the drive is so worth it!
Boot camp is awesome, believe me when I say you will NOT get the same work out by going to the gym. You burn more calories, you feel amazing after a work out, and you meet some great people. The trainers are very friendly, and they do care about you! I’m so glad I joined, and can’t wait to keep seeing progress! There’s always a new contender special that comes out for $ 69 for the first month, and like I’ve said before, it’s WORTH IT! Won’t hurt to give it a shot!

Very Upset how poorly this camp is handled.
Trainer would always show up late and towards the end cancelled at least once a week. Then the following month there was no classes offered in our area (San Gabriel Valley @ 6am). This was the only reason why I signed up because THE TIME & LOCATION!
Overall not worth the money. I attended this camp gladiator for 3 sessions and overall not satisfied.
On the last note I’m currently fighting Camp Gladiator to cancel my automatic payment since there is no camp available in my area and they have given me the run a round.
I will totally not recommend this shady Camp to anyone!

Just finished week one of this boot camp. Hate working out. Hate waking up early. But challenged myself to sign up for this for four weeks. And I liked it. It’s cool to get your workout done in the morning before work. And being outdoors was a great change of scenery from the sweaty smelly gym. The trainers at the Santa Monica Airport Park were fun and challenged my fitness level without making me suffer. It’s not militant like I expected of a «boot camp.» It was an easy going friendly vibe yet challenged me to work hard.

Camp offers an amazing Boot Camp experience. I love this workout. Every workout is different and challenging. The trainers are tough but very supportive. It only took a few workouts to feel like I was getting in better shape. Working out in the fresh air is refreshing and energizing. I would recommend this camp to anyone.

This reviews is for the one in Alhambra. Don’t let «boot camp» scare you. It’s fun and the activities are similar to what you’d get in outdoor personal training. Working in small groups is fun and they let you go to any location across LA, as many times as you want, for the monthly fee. It may cost more than a low level gym membership but it can’t compare to $ 50 a session you’d pay for personal training. Just be warned that after your first session you may be sore a day later. But in a good way.

By far the best bang for your buck! The energy is positive and out of control! A very motivating boot camp that encourages team work and kick butt fun workouts!

it is a fun exhilerating 1 hr workout. the trainers make it fun but challenging. they encourage. not scream at you or break you down to build you up nonsense. they really care about you reaching your fitness goals. the exercises are of a interesting dynamic. testing your speed, strength, agility and you have a sense of competition to do better than the other people there. let me be clear on that… good healthy competition not overbearing. the trainers are professional and courteous and they know their stuff. these camps are priced very reasonable.

Best Workout Money can buy!!! But there is so much more than just getting your butt kicked. The trainers are funny and energetic and make you want to come back unlike some other bootcamp I have been apart of. If you are looking to get in shape trust me this is the place to be!!!
