History

Established in 2011.

Since 1978 our family has been serving the city of West Los Angeles and the surrounding area. Establishing long term relationships and trust with local businesses, major fleets, car dealerships, and everyone that drives a car in our fine city to which we call friends and family for all their tire and automotive needs. We opened California Tire & Service to continue our tradition. We are a second generation family-​owned and operated complete tire and automotive service center. We pride ourselves on delivering quality service, at great prices, with hard working caring people we call family to work on your vehicles. Business Owner

Scott started in the tire and automotive industry in Santa Monica in1978. Driven to understand the business from top to bottom he worked his way up through the ranks holding every position for almost all the leading tire and service companies on the west-​side as well as through out the state of California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and Utah. He was a tire installer, mechanic, salesman, store manager, district manager, trainer, owner/​partner, vice president of sales and marketing. In his 37 years he managed from 7 employee’s to over 1,500, from one location to 140 locations. Through this experience and life long commitment to the industry he has gained a wealth of knowledge that he shares with every employee on a daily basis. «To be the best at something you cannot do it by yourself, share what you know, love what you do and do what you love, this keeps everyone happy including you»

Car: PORSCHE. Amazing service (both at the front desk and the mechanics) I had to order special tires for my car (which usually makes me cringe at the price), here the tires were cheaper than costco or sears etc.
My car needed an alignment after putting in suspension upgrades that were non factory racing parts. They did the alignment incredibly fast for how complex it was, and the printout of the alignment specs was right on. And it was WAY cheaper than anywhere else.
They took my car with no appointment right away even though there were clearly other cars there also.
I will always go back to these guys, and I’m incredibly skeptical of mechanics typically because I am one.

Five stars for Ernesto who had helped me out with any issues I have had with my tires and wheels. I have been here twice and Ernesto, both times, has helped me. He is very thorough and given me specific and detailed answers to any questions I had about my wheels. Not to mention he also does very good work.

I’ve brought cars here before but this time there was a new group of guys up front and while it was always good before, this was definitely my best experience there. I brought the car in due to shaking when the car was idling and a check engine light on which turned out to be a misfire in the engine. I worked with Vin to fix that and they did a thorough check and he explained a few other things that were going on with the front suspension that I had known was bad for some time. Their check was so thorough and Vin made it clear which repairs were urgent safety risks and which could be postponed. Their fee was very reasonable and when I picked up the car he showed me exactly what they had done and where the new parts are and the ones that still needed to be fixed in a few months when I had the money. The car handled significantly better so I know that the service was quality and was in fact, necessary. In short, quality repairs, excellent service, reasonable prices.

Super quick service for an oil change!
My oil light had been flashing for quite some time, and I definitely needed to get it changed. I found California Tire & Service online and called to schedule an appointment, since they were located close to my home and work. You don’t need an appointment for an oil change here, but I called to ensure that I could get it done in the morning before work. The guy that I spoke with on the phone was super helpful and friendly, and he got all my information down so that I didn’t need to fill out any paperwork upon arrival.
I arrived right as they opened and was assisted immediately by the guy at the desk. I let him know that I needed to be at work by 8:30, and he said they’d definitely be finished by then. It took under a half hour, and I was in and out! They accepted the coupon that I’d found online, so the oil change was super affordable. When I picked up my car, the guy let me know what additional maintenance I should get done, but it didn’t feel at all like he was trying to upsell me. I’ve gone to other car places where they can definitely be pushy.
There really isn’t any place to wait here, but there’s a Starbucks and a Coffee Bean one block away (the walk took less than 5 minutes).
I’ll definitely come back her for additional oil changes and car services!

This place is absolutely awesome. They changed & aligned 4 tires on my car in record timing for only $ 300 — Toyota tried to charge me $ 700 for the same service! And everyone who works there is very, very nice.

These guys are the absolute best! I had 2 repairs that needed to be done on my Audi A4.
For me personally, I’m always pretty weary of car mechanics. I fear that they’ll overcharge me simply because I’m a female and assume I don’t know any better. Definitely not the case here. I ended up paying significantly less than several other local shops that had given me estimates and less than half of what the Audi dealership originally quoted me. Best of all, they were able to finish the job well before the original estimated time.

I made an appointment and got there a bit early. They took my car right away and went to work on an oil change. The staff were all friendly. I went across the street to a little tropical restaurant and had a drink and app while I waited for my car to be serviced. Super convenient. The staff called me when my car was ready and easily accepted my Unilocal coupon for 50% off of my service. It was a smooth and quick service. I will definitely go back.

OK I can’t rave enough about California Tire. I went in for another issue and they solved it for me smoothly. I saw an issue with my car that needed fixing right away because I was headed out for a road trip. Immediately, I thought to call them and see if they can check it out. They delivered and they didn’t over-​promise– they’re busy but they said to bring the car in and they’ll see what they can do.
They are very good to their repeat clients and treat you like a neighbor. I am saving down their # to my Contacts list. They are now my go-​to for any auto issue– oil change, replacement tire, brake replacement, tire rotation, etc. the whole sha-​bang.

Great people and great service. A friend recommended this shop so I made an appointment for an inspection to check out my brakes. Luis evaluated my car and briefed me on the problems without trying to up-​sell me on other services. They were quick with repairs and cost was very reasonable.

Shoutout to the technician team who worked on the scion tc today, putting in lots of hours to fix up my brakes, suspension, and water pump! They took in my car with no appointment around 11:30 AM and I was out the door an hour before closing. No one else I called was able to fit me in on such short notice or guarantee me a quick turn around. Total cost for parts and labor here was also extremely reasonable.
Luis is a great manager, he’s with you every step of the way with your car and gave me a fast update on my car post-​inspection. He only moves forward with the repairs that you approve. Definitely no hard sells here.
This business has their regulars for sure. There were lots of customers coming in and out while I was waiting. Their high rating is well-​earned and deserved.

I came in because a rat had chewed through my AC wires, causing it not to work.
They trouble shooted the problem, and once they knew what was wrong, they worked on my car and it was ready in a day. I was surprised that it was done at a great price too. They showed me the inside of my car, with the chewed up wires, so I could see for myself what needed to be done.
Friendly staff. I didn’t feel like they were trying to oversell me. And they got the job done. I would definitely go back.
They open pretty early and are open on Saturdays as well. Pretty awesome.

Awesome people, easy to communicate and fast responder with very reasonable prices.
The owner Scott has given me an estimate at 9 pm and created an work order. When I arrived to their premise at 9 am in the morning, everything was ready and they were waiting for me. I did not have to ask or explain anything as it had been written up already.
My struts and schocks got replaced in 3 hours and the person in charge tested my car twice to make sure that everything is OK.
Thanks to Unilocal again help me to find the right spot and people.

Good service is hard to find. Great service is almost impossible. But the people at California Tire really know how to take care of you. They offer fair and reasonable prices, and have a quick turnaround time.
The first time I came here, I expected to put up a front so they wouldn’t underestimate and overcharge me. They not only didn’t try to take advantage, they had a lower price point than anywhere else — especially with the Unilocal check-​in! I’ve been here once for an oil change and once for a tire repair. I made reservations ahead of time. There’s a Starbucks a few blocks down, and I waited for an hour for the oil change and closer to two hours for the tire repair!
I’ve referred many of my friends here for their auto needs. They have great customer service, fair prices, and lots of happy customers just like me!
