Hands down some great food on this side of town. You can load up on calories with some pasta or pizza or keep it nice and lean. Hit these guys up you wont be let down. Great salads and grilled fish!

I eat at California Fresh, 5 days a week, it’s quick, Fast, convenient location and the food is healthy, non greasy, and very affordable, at a great value price. Recently, I have been having the New Kale Salmon Rice Bowl, which is delicious and a sure home run. My other 2 signature dishes I order are the White Dover Sole with Steamed Vegetables and Black Beans, and the Anti Oxidant Salad with grilled Chicken or Salmon on top. Élan the owner is a very nice, accommodating involved owner and Emma, the girl who works the front register, is a hidden Gem, she is very sharp, fast, very engaging and friendly, and customer service oriented. Owner is lucky to have her work there. Overall, without hesitation I endorse and recommend California Fresh as a healthy option at a great price with quality customer service, and friendly employees.

My coworkers come here all the time but I never joined them until this past week. I definitely have been missing out. First of all, the food comes out sooooooooooooo fast. I was literally shocked. I ordered the salmon salad and was pleased with the quality, quantity and value. I definitely recommend it. Seating was tight during lunch hour but luckily, we are in California and was able to snag an outdoor seat.

Finallllyyyy a restaurant that lives up to its name! «California fresh» truly is fresh. Always drove past this wonderful place and was always confused about visiting. I have to say, out of all the restaurants in the Westwood district this is my first choice

I go here for the salads. Cheap, quick, and filling. Pita bread is amazing. I usually order togo and everything taste fresh by the time I get home. If you’re in a hurry on week night, I suggest going here. I think they have my order memorized by now.

So my brother & I were there today. Delicious! Once again the hummus with mushrooms disappeared quickly; there’s a nice pesto under the mushrooms & the right amount of oil. They give you butter with the pita, too, if you wanna switch it up. I had the grilled chicken breast with Israeli salad & steamed veggies. My brother had the Cajun salmon with black beans & salad. Everything was perfectly cooked. The beans were not salty and tasted great, the fish perfectly cooked, the chicken moist. We were stuffed for $ 28. The restaurant is always clean. If it was on the other side of the freeway I’d be there much more often, but I’m definitely going to put it in my map.

Once again, you can’t judge a book by its cover, nor a restaurant by the look of the outside. This looks like a casual mostly take out kind of place but the quality and FRESHNESS of the food was superb! The incredible Mediterranean menu beats out many bigger formal places in taste and quality! We both had the Salmon Rice Bowl with sautéed kale and vegetables — cooked to perfection and natural flavors in the rice. I notice they advertise gluten free now so am not sure if the bread they kept offering was gluten free or not. Their food is so outstanding that I thought I should contact them and suggest how they could remodel the place and market it better! The place was empty except for a half dozen people who trickled in. This was my FIRST time at California Fresh and it wasn’t anything like I imagined. The service was excellent and food awesome. The Salmon was probably baked over the bed of rice because the juices of the salmon could be tasted in the rice and it was DELICIOUS. Healthy and reasonable! And can you believe they deliver?!

I’ve been here a few times and I cannot say how much I enjoy it! I use the free drink check in every time. I got a small BBQ chicken pizza with pineapple for less than 10 bucks and it was more than enough to feed me for two meals. I love the busser/expo guy they have every time I come in on Thursday. He’s always very attentive and hustles for the guests when they need anything. He’s great! The prices are great and there is a great selection of food.

For decent healthy affordable eating out on the Westside, I would recommend eating here at California Fresh. If there is one restaurant that I would compare California Fresh to it would be California Chicken Café, which one of its chain restaurants is located across the street. What makes California Fresh stand out is the variety of their salads as well as a greater array of protein choices besides just chicken. The food is by no means extraordinary but I have not been let down by the consistent quality and service here. I have tried a majority of their salads. Highly recommend adding protein if none is listed. Although the quantity and quality is good, I have been hungry afterward. The price point is still generally less than California Chicken Café salads. Here are some of the food options that I have tried: Organic Quinoa Salad: Although I loved the mixture of the sweet grapes and raisins with the crunchy roasted almonds, I did feel that overall the salad lacked anything that really made it exciting. Especially when you consider the heaping load of quinoa that they also give on the bed of greens, the overall flavor of the salad without the dressing is pretty bland. I would recommend adding a protein and dressing to this dish. Famous BBQ Chicken Salad: Overall, a solid salad but a little heavy handed on the BBQ sauce. I did like that there was a lot of neat stuff going on with the sweetness of the corn, crunch and saltiness of the tortilla chip, the tanginess of the BBQ sauce with the chicken. My only critique was that it was a little heavy handed on the BBQ sauce so I didn’t even want to add any dressing. I would recommend having the ranch dressing on the side so you can add it as needed. Antioxidant Salad: Very similar to organic quinoa salad but a little more sweet. However, what I appreciated were the beets for that extra sweetness and dried cranberries that is also tart. There are also the walnuts that add that extra earthy crunch. Like the quinoa salad, I would highly recommend adding a protein but dressing may not be necessary so can be put on the side. The service has been overall pretty fast after ordering. They do have a very small parking lot behind the restaurant for customers. There is also street parking available that is super hard to find during peak hours. Overall, I would recommend the salads here which are fresh and are affordably priced.

I ended up at California Fresh because my friend hit the«redo» button and wanted to try something other than a meatless salad — what he had previously eaten. There is a small parking lot in the back, but you could probably find spaces pretty easily in the nearby residential neighborhoods. Probably because it was late(~8PM) and a weekday, the restaurant itself was pretty empty. It seemed like the restaurant does a lot of takeout orders, as the cashier was taking phone orders before turning her attention to us. I ordered a grilled entrée plate with chicken, hummus, and roasted vegetables. Aside from your choice of protein, you can customize your two sides. Although everything tasted as one would expect(good), I was disappointed with portion sizes. Though nicely grilled, the small, thin piece of chicken was dwarfed by the heaping scoop of decent hummus and(crisp, tasty) roasted vegetables. If the meal didn’t come with pieces of pita bread, I would probably still be hungry after finishing everything. Given the price($ 7.75), I guess this shouldn’t be too surprising. The restaurant had a promotion where you could receive a free fountain drink if you checked in on Unilocal,so definitely take advantage of this if it’s still available. Something with carbonation might help you feel more full than you might otherwise… In terms of ambience, I found the restaurant rather dark, but that may have been due to our decision to sit in one of the booths along the wall. There is outdoor seating, which probably would have been a good alternative had the weather been slightly warmer. Overall, you’ll probably enjoy California Fresh if you’re looking for something cheap, healthy, and quick, but if you’re starving, you might want to order more food /eat something beforehand.

Whoever answered the phone was rude and then hung up after mumbling some incoherent bullshit. Worst customer service ever and by the sound of his voice, he seemed like the owner or supervisor. I never recommend ordering from here, at the least delivery.

I got delivery of a meat lovers pizza and a Greek salad. I give them one star for a okay salad. They came on time but their driver was very rude. For one he doesn’t take direction right at all and wouldn’t come to my actually apartment building until I called him twice. When he finally came he took my food out of his dirty car from the trunk. He asked me to sign the paper and then snatches the pen from me and saids tip is in cash. I looked at him and told him I tipped card. Keep in mind there’s a $ 3 delivery charge also. Asshole pointed on the paper and said I was going to tip in cash. OOPSMYBAD! I said sorry and I thought I tipped on the card and I don’t have cash on me. He then had the audacity to tell me that’s next time I don’t tip he’s gonna make sure to not deliver here. Don’t worry because the pizza sucked and wasn’t hot when I even got it because he didn’t keep it in a warmer and in the trunk. The pizza also felt old and didn’t feel fresh at all.

Um, hello best eggplant sandwich I’ve EVERHAD. I’ll be back for you. We asked the cashier what her favorite sandwiches were because we were undecided, as per usual. She pointed to a sign that listed their current hot/panini sandwiches and on it was my dream meal. Bear with me: grilled eggplant, hard boiled egg, cucumber and tomato slaw(like tabbouleh), tahini, and harissa, all on a baguette. Not things I would think to put together, especially the egg, but believe me when I say it will blow your mind. If you don’t mind no meat. I mean, I don’t know what goes into making a rocket ship, and yet it’s pretty freaking awesome. So have some faith, this eggplant wonder could be your food rocket ship. My husband got the pesto grilled sandwich and it was likewise awesome. I, however, am partial to my wonderful choice. The service was also attentive and nice. Try it!

This is a four star place that gets five because of how cheap it is. Not taco truck cheap… but if you ate from taco trucks for three days in a row, you’d want to go here. The salads are fresh, the chicken is grilled without a bunch of tummy-unfriendly seasonings, and food comes out fast. They do a mean to-go business because the atmosphere isn’t the best… but it is way better than it used to be, when it looked like a McDonalds circa 1986.

This place was great, Just left the dentist and was hungry. Wanted something easy and healthy. Saw people sitting outside so decided to go look at menu. BOOM! Yum. Great healthy choices. Got a Greek salad and enjoyed it. They chopped it for me(thanks!) and brought it to me sitting outside in less than 5 min. Full of veggies. Decent size for the price. I’ll be back!
