My husband and I have been ordering flowers from Johnny for 26 years. Stopped by today, in person, and can say the flowers are beautiful, the quality is great and service is wonderful; still.

This shop is good for picking out a nice floral or plant arrangement that’s viewable on site, and for delivery orders prepared somewhere else. But for floral arrangements and delivery done by them, I’ve been less then satisfied. A while back, I ordered 2 dozen roses to be delivered to my wife’s workplace and she was less then pleased about their wilted appearance on arrival, and what I must have paid for them. And on sending several photos via her cell phone, I could see the reason for her concern. What was meant to be a romantic moment of thoughtfulness turned into a nightmare. Calling the shop and speaking to the owner with my complaint, he at first wanted to argue in defense of the quality of their work. I finally got him to credit a percentage of the cost back to my credit card, rather then replace the arrangement. My wife didn’t want me to bother with having more sent.
A more recent disappointment, was the October order of an arrangement for my father’s memorial service. Of all the beautiful arrangements on display, our California Floral Co’s were by far the least presentable. I was somewhat embarrassed. I’ll never have them arrange anything for me again, although others present probably paid them no mind.

I contacted California Floral Co. after finding them on Unilocal.After discussing the type of services needed (sympathy) with Joseph, I was amazed at the quality and the creativity of the arrangement and what was put together for the pre-​arranged price. I gave California Floral Co. carte blanche on the design. Guests that attended the service also raved on the arrangement (and it was amongst about 20 – 25 other arrangements from alternate florists) and California Floral Co. name was given to all that asked. I will definitely use the services of
California Floral Co. for any occasions that arise. Thank you very much!!!

I had looked through ALOT (7 to be precise) of floral shop ads near the downtown LA area and felt their arrangements were not… creative enough; mostly the cliché roses/​set of particular flowers with a bit of fillers and vases that were very unoriginal. I stumbled upon this particular shop from Google and could not be happier!!! They have the most diverse arrangement of flowers that I personally have not seen in the top 7 Google rating flower shops and the vases actually match the essence of the arrangement. The flowers themselves are absolutely fresh and look perfectly decorated to blend in with other types of flowers. One thing that stood out to me with this shop, is the customer service. When I was told the vase I wanted was out of stock, I was texted at least 3 other options for me to choose from, which was not only efficient of them, but flexible in their services. I also had to change the delivery time which I was accommodated and the flowers arrived at the best time! I have already ‘bookmarked’ their shop for future purchases :)

I was walking in downtown LA to a restaurant in Little Tokyo and stumbled upon this flower shop because there were beautiful assortments on the sidewalk right outside the door. I walked into the shop convinced that I wanted to buy a bouquet! There were many options to choose from of flowers that you could immediately purchase, varying from carnations to roses.
They have great customer service — I didn’t know which flowers to pick and the lady was patient with my indecisive tendencies. Once I made my selection, she cut the stems, and re-​wrapped the flowers in new plastic wrap (instead of leaving it in the already wrapped plastic). She even tied a big ribbon on it, which was super unexpected. It made me feel extremeley happy about my purchase. This was the definition of quick and friendly service! I’ll definitely be back!

Thank you, Johnny and staff at California Floral, for making the most beautiful spray for my friend’s funeral. Your taking the time to talk with me and making the effort not to substitute any flowers in the arrangement — it really meant so much to me that the flowers and colors be true to what I felt she would have liked, thank you so much for respecting that and being so nice! I was at a loss for words and you even helped me with a message for the flowers. Much appreciated.
As an aside, there was another lady who was very upset that her purple and lavender flowers arrived red and pink! (Who used a different florist, I’m sure) I let her know maybe it was because of Valentine’s Day — she said that’s no excuse! I said no, definitely not, I would complain to your florist. It was at that moment that I realized I was so lucky I went to you! I’m very grateful. Thank you!

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF… Save yourself the disappointment. their delivery sucks!!! and that bullshit about making the arrangement comparable to what you order, is just that bullshit. ordered the Zen arrangement got an arrangement that looked nothing Zen about it, it was garbage about 15.00 worth.

I usually have gone to Downtown LA Flower District for my flower needs but I needed flowers for my boss and I was on a 20 minute deadline, looked up what was closest to my job and I see «California Floral Company» a block away — I called, asked if they had a similar design like they had online & the owner just said to come on in and he can try his best to work with what I’d seen online. 5 minutes later I was shown in house designs (ready to buy) and he had a great variety. The owner was very helpful, worked within my budget and really tried to get what I wanted in such a short time. The flowers were not only beautifully fully bloomed but fresh, taken care of and even replaced the ones that may have looked a bit «sloppy» — I definitely give them 5 stars! And yes, I will refer them to any and everyone I know!

I used this company last week to delivery flowers to the Los Angeles Court House. The flowers were beautiful!!! I will definitely use them again and refer others to use them too!!! Oh by the way I ordered them online.

This is the best florist I’ve ever had. We booked Johnny as our florist for our wedding and it was perfect. He was responsive and listened to everything patiently. He knows what he’s doing. His price was very reasonable for the quality he delivered. This is where my husband went for valentines day, birthday, anniversary, or simply when we need a beautiful bouquet of roses. I highly recommend Johnny! He’s a nice honest businessman that is hard to find nowadays.

I offered to buy the floral arrangements for a friend of mine whose mother unexpectedly passed away. I had about an hour to review different places online and I happened upon the California Floral Company. Their website was easy to navigate and I liked the beautiful arrangements; they were reasonably priced. I immediately called the store and I spoke with Johnny and explained to him what I needed. He was extremely helpful and accommodating. He was able to incorporate the flower colors that I had requested. The pricing was great! 2 hours later, I picked up the arrangements. Johnny placed the flowers in my Jeep and explained how to take them out upon my arrival to the funeral home. The flower arrangements were far more beautiful than I had expected, given that my budget was only $ 150. The set of flowers and the flower spray were decorated nicely with bows and the arrangements for the flower spray included roses. They were lovely and the family was extremely touched. Thank you Johnny for such a great service. If I ever need flowers, I’m going to California Floral Company.

I found the place I been looking for! I tend to do allot of flower orders and I have to say never have I seen flowers so beautiful before… I placed a order online and had special delivery requests and you know how MOST flower shops forget to do it… well this place actually did way better then I ever expected. flowers were super fresh super beautiful and delivery was before schedule ! LOVE THIS PLACE. only place I will be ordering flowers from.

I ignored the bad reviews to my own demise. I placed an order online for my GF who was having a bad day. She works downtown and they have same day delivery. I got an email at 5 pm saying that they didn’t have the flowers, their email was out and they couldn’t call me… I specifically checked the box that said substitute if out of stock. She didn’t get her flowers.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet…
Seeing the name of this florist in a phonebook, or through a Google search, one would think it’s another franchised flower shop churning out emotionless bouquets for profit.
Not so with this shop.
This is a family owned, family run operation since 1916 (per their website). And when you order with these guys you can tell they’ve been in the business for awhile. The quality of their work and the level of service they provide is outstanding.
I’ve ordered from these guys a number of times, but one instance stood out from the rest.
My girlfriend had been sick for the past week, and I wanted to cheer her up a bit by sending here a bouquet of sunflwers. The girl who took my call (sorry, I can’t remember her name) did an amazing job with my order. She kept me up to date with the status, from when the bouquet was being worked on, to when the order was delivered. She even took my cell down and offered to text me a picture of the bouquet before it was delivered so I’d know how it looked before my girlfriend received them. Awesome service.
And yes, she loved the bouquet. So obviously, they did their job.
I’ll use them again and again for all my orders around this area. You should, too.

I bought roses here and they were very beautiful, long-​stem South American roses.
The reason why I’m only giving this place 3 stars is because I thought that the owner (the Asian guy) was a bit pushy. Maybe it’s just a cultural thing, I don’t know.
When I told him that I wanted a dozen roses, he kept trying to get me to buy the pre-​made vases. I told him that I wanted to choose different colors and so I wanted a fresh arrangement. Then he grabbed twelve roses for me out of the fridge, but the roses he chose weren’t in the best condition, so I had to tell him that I wanted to hand-​pick my own.
After all was said and done, I ended up with a beautiful arrangement… I just didn’t like the process of getting there.

My girlfriend and I recently split and I wanted to send some nice flowers to her work to let her know that I was thinking about her.
Johnny at California Floral took care of everything. He even delivered it the same day and went way out of his way to make sure she got it. (His driver waited for an hour to deliver it to her.)

The flowers were delivered in a timely manner, and arranged with lots of filler. The roses were just blooming, so they should last a week.
Two-​thousand miles away I placed an order for my girlfriend that is in downtown Los Angeles for business. They took my order in a matter-​of-​fact manner. Be sure you know exactly what you’re ordering if you’re calling it in; after stating I wanted long-​stem roses they didn’t ask what color, but I specified after selecting which price range I wanted. I’m sure they would have been helpful if I had asked for advice.

Wow, this is kinda mind-​blowing actually. A few months ago, my company, ya know the awesomeness that is Unilocal,sent me a bouquet of flowers after I received some not so favorable news. I wasn’t going to Unilocal it since I didn’t have a direct business to customer experience, but then I found the card today and got a little soft in the heart department and decided to throw some props this business’ way and low and behold… no reviews!!!
How on Earth did that happen? How would my Unilocaly gurus send a bouquet without having a Unilocal approval rating first. Wow, just wow. Anyhoo, this florist delivered me one of the sweetest sunflower bouquets I’ve ever received. It was gorgeous, it was humble and it was magical all at the same time and I can tell you one thing for sure… it put one hell of a smile on my face in a very sad time!
And so, flower seeking people of LA, if you need to cheer someone up or romance the pants off of them, here is one great florist to go to. They delivered above and beyond and I would definitely use them for a delivery anytime.
