California Dog Walkers

Can’t even think of enough good things to say about these dog walkers ! They have been walking my now three year old German shepherd pup bond for the past two years. I have found Miriam to be nothing but professional and pleasant. My dog loves them as do I ! They always arrive on time and send me texts so I know when they are there and know the job is actually getting done. My dog is very high energy and not always easy to deal with and I’ve had zero problems with him since using these dog walkers. If you’re looking for dependable and fantastic people that are passionate about taking care of your dog then Miriam is the one to call !!!

Miriam watches my 6 year old female pit bull mix whenever I am out of town. My dog is very high energy and needs allot of exercise and attention. So having someone I trust to watch over her and give her the attention that I know she needs when I can’t is a life saver. My dog gets so excited to see Miriam that it makes me feel great about leaving her. What I really like is that while my dog is getting lots of affection, Miriam understands that dogs need discipline and boundaries so my dog comes home with the same good manners or better than when I left her. California Dog Walkers also fills in on walks for me when my life is getting too busy. Its impossible to be everywhere at once and be there for my dog all the time, having a company I can develop a relationship with so I can eliminate worrying about my dog has just made my life that bit easier. I had heard about California Dog Walkers through a friend of a friend and decided to take a chance. I am so glad I did!
My boyfriend and I decided to take our relationship to the next level and get a PUPPY! She was eight week old boxer mix we named Tawny. With both of us working in the film industry, it goes without saying we needed a back up plan for the days neither of us would be home. We have extremely unpredictable work schedules; Miriam has proven a life saver on multiple occasions! From the first moment I met Miriam I knew Tawny would be in good hands. We have used her services periodically over the past year and have been very happy with our experiences.
Tawny has experienced walks, hikes, and dog parks under Miriam’s care. Also, I love she is proactive in encouraging good behavior by discouraging barking, pulling, jumping up and begging on a regular basis. You can tell she has a real love for animals and yet promotes healthy human/​animal relationships. She has a great balances discipline and affection.
Now, a year later, Tawny has developed into a wonderful little girl in part thanks to Miriam and her dog walking service. I look forward to continue to use her services and would recommend California Dog Walkers to everyone and anyone!

We used Miriam’s service for about 6 months before having to let her go.
We set up a home monitoring system in our home after being alerted by neighbors that many different people were entering our home while we were away and our dogs were having accidents in the house, which is not like them. Also, we were not receiving texts as promised when Miriam visited our pets so we had no other way of knowing that they were being taken care of.
Here are some of the things we learned about CA Dog walkers:
1) Miriam gave access to our apartment to at least 10 different people. Initially, she told us it would only be her and one other person.
2) One of the walkers drank out of our milk carton, and then placed the carton back into the refrigerator
3) One walker brought her boyfriend over to our apartment
4) Many times, the walkers only stayed half the time we paid for
5) Our animals were not shown affection by Miriam or most of the other walkers who were too preoccupied with their cell phones to give attention to our pets (heartbreaking to watch)
6) Our older dog was not always given his medicine as instructed
7) They were giving the cat’s digestive enzymes to the dogs
8) One walker snooped through our apartment and entered our bedroom (door was closed). Walker later said she was «looking for aspirin»
Despite all this, we continued to use Miriam’s services because we wanted to support her and her new business. We discontinued using her services after she scheduled dog walks an hour and a half between each other (2:30PM mid-​day walk and 4:00 end of day walk) on a day when our flight would not get in until 1AM. The end of day walk was supposed to be between 7−9PM. When we alerted her of her scheduling error, she said she could not accommodate the situation and refused to make it right. That evening, our dogs went 10+ hours without a bathroom break because Miriam failed to do her job.
We have since switched to a new service provider who has been beyond wonderful and professional. Our pets are too precious to be ignored and I would never recommend CA Dog walkers to anyone.

Meeriam is the best ever. She’s so cool and reliable. My Lenerd goes crazy for her. Hundred stars for her :)

Miriam is AMAZING and has seriously been a LIFE SAVER! I was so worried when getting my first puppy, as I had NO idea how I was going to find someone to walk it and let her out of her crate twice a day while I was at work. I went on Unilocal (like everyone in this town!), and called around to a few places to offered dog walking services. I talked to Miriam on the phone and she sounded awesome and recommended a meet and greet with me and Layla. I met Miriam at my apartment, and she was amazing! Her and Layla (my puppy) totally hit it off and within minutes I knew she’d be perfect. Miriam has a key to my apartment and parking garage and comes twice a day Mon-​Fri to play with Layla for a ½ hour at a time. She texts me every day, twice a day, letting me know how Layla was during her visit. She will have Layla finish her breakfast (because she usually wont eat it all in the morning) and taught her tricks! Layla now «sits» like a pro — Miriam really goes the extra mile! When she was out of the country for two weeks, she asked if it was ok for her colleague Paige to take care of Layla and I trusted Miriam to only work with great people. Paige was just as amazing!!! The staff is so down to earth and genuinely LOVES pets. I can now say that I consider Miriam a friend — and am so happy I found her! If you have a pet and need to find someone who you know you can trust — CALL MIRIAM!

Miriam is awesome! We don’t necessarily need a dog walker everyday because I work from home. It’s more the last minute one the weekend when we know we can’t make it home in time we text Miriam to stop by. She is sooo cool with our sporadic schedule. Every once in a while she may not be available at the last minute BUT it falls on our shoulders too because we can’t expect someone to jump on our every need every single weekend. I think the dogs love her too. They haven’t complained yet :)

Miriam has been helping me with my 2 Jack Russells for a few years! She began walking my dogs this year and I could not be happier! Not only is she trustworthy, prompt, professional, but she is also VERY knowledgeable about behavior training and assistance with behavior modification.
My dogs love her! Being that I work long hours she has been a lifesaver with my 2 crazy Jacks. If she can handle this breed I am confident in saying she can handle ANY breed! These two a very high maintenance, and I worry consistently about them. Miriam has helped ease the stress of my long work days and I can feel secure knowing that they will get a super energy draining walk mid-​day!

California Dog Walkers does a lot more than walk your dog! I was flying out of town for about a week and didn’t want to take my cat to an expensive place where he would be afraid and confused.
I was able to relax on my trip knowing that my cat would be at home and in good hands! Miriam came to my house every day and fed him, changed his litter box, showed affection, played with him, and even sent pictures of my sweet kitty while I was away! She even watered my plants. She is friendly, trustworthy, professional, and affordable. Can’t beat that!
I absolutely love this company and plan on hiring Miriam again in the near future!

Before California Dog Walkers we have been through several different dog walking companies over the past 5 years and we have always been disappointed. Our neighbors have caught them taking our dog for a 5 minute walk, so I always ask them to keep an eye on our latest dog walker. CDW has been the opposite of that. They have proven to be trustworthy, which was our biggest concern. As reported by my neighbors, our dog has been getting AT LEAST a 30 minute walk every time. Also, Miriam, the owner, sends texts (occasionally with pictures) to keep us updated on how our dog acted on the walk, whether she went to the bathroom, and whether Miriam had to give her extra water, etc. We have since purchased a 10-​pack of walks and feel it is very worth the investment. We have paid less and we have also paid more, so we are comfortable with the price, especially considering that we can trust Miriam to take the job seriously. Of all the walking companies we’ve been through, this is the first one I’ve felt compelled to write a review for. I highly recommend California Dog Walkers.

California Dog Walkers was able to accommodate me for the overnight stay of my Boxer/​Bulldog mix and provide her with a great atmosphere and exercise. There were really great about keeping me updated and did a fantastic job of being responsive and making me feel that my dog was getting the attention she needed. THANK YOU!!!

I love this company! There aren’t a lot of dog walkers out there you can trust, but this is one you certainly can. The owner Miriam is extremely good with dogs and will spend the time you elect with them in full. She even makes her own treats! My little Aida loves her! She texts you when she’s done with the walks, so you always know – no matter where you are — how it went ;) highly recommended.
