THIS IS BY FAAAAARRRRRRR THE WORST COMPANY EVERRRRRR!!! I have never seen this in my life. I don’t think that I ever took my time to write a bad review but this I have to get out. Why are they still in business??? They are the worst. The person on the phone is as bad as the people they send. A drunk guy shows up 3 hours after scheduled time, and lies through his teeth. They had me take off off work 3 times only to NOT show up. They are a nightmare.

Never again. Unreliable and rude. The plumber never showed up.

Not sure this «business» would stay in business without the Home Warranty contracts. These negative reviews appear spot-​on. Here is the rundown of my experience:
1. Referred by Home Warranty
2. They called within the 24 hour window (left a message)
All good so far right?
3. I called back to schedule the appointment. During the call I could hear a VERY personal conversation between a man and woman where she was poking at his flaws asking how he even stays married, etc. etc. it was so weird, loud and unprofessional.
4. The plumber comes (on-​time). Helps with the issue but states that a second one is not covered.
I say, That’s fine. Can you work on it independently? No. I have other jobs. okkkaaaay. How much time was allotted to this visit?
I called Mr. Rooter and paid out of pocket. I don’t have time for this $#17. Mr. Rooter came within a few hours, quoted me, then fixed it all in the same trip.

I have to say — we had a completely different experience with Cal-​Home Plumbing — they did a GREAT job for us. Our water heater went out late on Thursday — by the time American Home Warranty approved the replacement it was late, late on Friday. Understandably the techs were already scheduled for Saturday — so they came yesterday!!! Sunday! And called and asked if they could arrive early — I was beyond thrilled. They were very nice, very professional, and quick to finish. I’m very happy with the work they did for us.

OMG!!! This company needs to be shut down and Loose their contract with First American Home Buyers Warranty!
Over a month ago I have noticed a leak stain growing in our ceiling of our home.
Cal Home was assigned to fix our problem. The first time the tech came to see the problem, he said he couldn’t reach the attic because he didn’t have a tall enough ladder. He simply said, there’s no leak and will have to come back with a bigger ladder.
I called Call Home 2 weeks after and was told my claim was closed.
Called FAHBW again and told them the problem had not been fixed by Cal Home.
FAHBW assigned Cal Home again to attempt to fix our problem. Not to mention
at that time… I couldn’t locate the leak. I could visibly just see the water mark growing.
I have had 3 appointments this week.
Monday — Service time 8AM to 1PM, I requested to be notified when the tech was on his way.
I told reception I need to step away for a few minutes. She said she couldn’t get a hold of the tech and she will call me after she speaks to him. I left note on the door, please call when you arrive. I returned with in 15 minutes… and when 1pm arrived and no signs of the tech or phone notification from Cal Home I called. They said the tech had arrived and left because no one was home. Irritated, but I rescheduled!
Rescheduled for Wednesday — Service time 8AM to 12Noon, I also requested to receive a 20 minute notice prior to arrival. Called Cal Home at 12:04pm asking when the Tech will arrive. She said the tech was held up at another job and can go between
«Now & 3pm». Frustrated and expressed my frustration and rescheduled again!
Today Friday (Oct 9^th) — 8AM to 12 Noon
Called Cal Home at 11:30AM and was told that FAHBW was notified back on ⁹⁄₁₉^th that they don’t carry or have a ladder tall enough to reach the attic and can’t do the job.
Now, I’m so upset!!! with Cal Home customer service and disrespect to their clients time.
I told the lady… I have been dealing with you all week and today you tell me your tech can’t do the job.
This company needs to change their out going /​hold message. It says they can handle any problem and leak detections. I told them, that is exactly what I need… Please have someone
come to my house and find the mystery leak that is clearly starting to damage the ceiling of
my family room. The Cal Home Operator /​receptionist said «They do not do leak detections in attics, only on the house slab/​foundation»
First American Home Buyers — Contacted Cal Home and Cal Home said they can’t
do the job at my house because they only carry 6ft Ladders! OMG!!! are you kidding me!
Cal Home can not invest in a ladder to fix a problem.
I have been referred to a new company. Thank God!
Dear Cal Homes Owner,
If you value your business and want to stay in business, you need to clean house (fire or Re-​traine) and start all over.
You obviously don’t read your Unilocal reviews or clearly don’t care about the business you
are getting from First American Home Buyers. Because those are the customers that have been treated the worst.
You don’t even deserve 1 Star!

It’s OUTRAGEOUS the number of horrible reviews for this company — and based on my experience they are all 100% accurate. I have First American Home Buyers Protection home warranty. Cal Home came 10 days ago to look at a leaky faucet and a broken tub drain. They were 2 hours late after the 4 hour window of time. Goodbye morning. They said they would order parts and call by weeks end to update. So, nothing was fixed. There was no call last week. I called on Monday and without any add’l information they said they could have someone out today (Thursday) from 8am-​12pm. I called at 11:45am to get an ETA and was told the technician was at the supply store and our faucet is discontinued and would have to be replaced b/​c parts to fix it are not available. Also that the tub wouldn’t be covered by the warranty. WHY WHY WHY was this information just now figured out? Goodbye morning #2. Formal complaint has been filed with the warranty company and I’m requesting a local, reliable plumbing company. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE THIS PLUMBING COMPANY!!!

I m another victim who had to «hire» Cal Home for their service from First Home Buyer Warranty. This Cal Home company is a scam!
we found a water bubble in our ceiling and couple other draining issue. When Cal Home came, he opened up our ceiling and said he found lots of mold up there it will be very dangerous for him to work there. He refer us to his buddy damage re-​mediation company. this company quote us $ 1600 to remove the mold and cut out more of the ceiling dry wall. (of course this price doesn’t include putting the ceiling dry wall back).
long story short, i got another quote from another license mold removal company. this mold removal company was shock that the plumber wont fix the leak as the mold issue was very minimal (it was local to the leak). this mold removal company i found also charge me much much less to remove the mold.
The whole experience is like a SCAM to me. i would try my best to not use this plumbing company and his buddy damage remediation company.

Good lord! Why didn’t I check their Unilocal reviews before giving the green light to my home warranty company? Dennis and this company gave off an extremely shady vibe when dealing with them over the phone and in person. They were able to fix the issue we had in our bathroom and thought everything was ok. Dennis then pointed out that we had a severe leak with our water sprinkler system in the front yard. He then called me the next day and stated that it would cost of $ 300 to get it fixed! I then called a few plumbers and decided to work with out previous plumbers, William and Matt at Rockstar Plumbing. William came in the next day and fixed the issue for only $ 70 and has been working great since. My gut feeling is that Dennis tampered with our sprinkler system since I noticed he went out to his car a few times while fixing our toilet issue. I really hope I am wrong with that feeling. I will never do business with these guys ever again! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

Unbelievable ! Called our home warranty– First American to help us with plumbing issues. Got this plumbing company to come out from 5pm to 8pm
We asked company to call us 20 mins prior to arrival. Of course they didn’t call prior 7pm, so we called the company and said he s at the property. We rushed and meet the plumber, Unfortunately
We forgot the keys to open our old house and he just stormed out our property and said can’t wait for 10mins. We begged and pleaded. He saw us with our 3 kids
He is a heartless man! Unprofessional
Doesn’t want to help out! This place should be shut down. If you can handle customers
Please get out of this country and continue your bad ass attitude somewhere else! its not okay to have us wait for 3 hours but if we like you to wait for 10 – 15 mins it’s okay

Reviews are very accurate! I now have experienced Cal Home Plumbing twice through my home warranty company «First American» The first time they came out to fix a running toilet. First attempt unsuccessful, second attempt they said my toilet was defective and they couldn’t fix the running water issue. Next thing I know I get a letter from First American that said Cal Home declared my toilet «unfixable» and now that toilet will not be covered by First American ever again unless I get a new one. So if it stops up I am out of luck. Guess what I fixed it myself and that toilet has been doing fine but still won’t be covered again. Fast forward a year. I have a slab leak in my living room. Unfortunately Cal Plumbing was the only one available to come out through my home warrantee (gee I wonder why they aren’t busy) They gave me an estimate of $ 2000 to fix the problem. After checking with my insurance adjuster
(they thought the cost was high) I called American Leak Detection. Guess what the cost was $ 1000 less. I also checked with a small independent plumber and it was also $ 1000 less. Cal Plumbing was just trying to rip me off hoping that I was going to go through First American Home protection. In addition I still had to pay them their $ 65 service call. It is a trap. Maybe First American has some sort of deal going with Cal Plumbing…
They are also listed as Cal Home Plumbing in North Hollywood. Same phone number.

Why there is no Zero star on Unilocal?
I do not know how they are still in business. I have them as contractor with First American. They do not respond to the phone call. They change their word everyday. They delay their job, and try to find a lame excuse. The person answers phone is very rude and does not know anything about their job. Their diagnosis and the whole job is terrible. I have not seen and heard any company being that worse from Canada to US and from east to west coast. And believe me I have seen and lived many places. Review of this company is easy: Do not deal with them, and if you are in the middle, just run away. You loose less!

WORST WORST WORST SCAMMING COMPANY EVER !!! Read all the messages and PLEASE, I beg you, NEVER hire them.
I have FIRST AMERICAN HOME BUYER PROTECTION WARRANTY and they assigned me this service company by default.
They came to see the problem, said they’d be on it. A MONTH LATER a calls pretty much EVERY single day, they strung me along and along with no reason or purpose.
My intuition says they scam the warranty by charging them money and hoping people won’t complain.
PLEASE, trust me, there’s a billion other companies that will do the job 100 000 times better. I’ll even come by and fix your plumbing. If I could rate it zero stars, I would.
Oh, and BY THE WAY, a receptionist with a brain and 2 ounces of respect, would be much appreciated. Their bib-​lettuce air headed one only adds to the frustration of it all.

Never use this company. I promise you they will not come and fix anything at your house. They have awful customer service. If everyone else’s 1 star reviews doesn’t sum up this company I don’t know what else will. They don’t deserve your money, I have expected them to show up at my house 3 different times since we scheduled multiple appointments with them. They have not called back after missing appointments and after explaining all of this to them, they will not make priorities for those they have given poor service to.
Honestly don’t waste your time, they deserve to shut down from people not wanting to use their company. Join the cause yo.

I have First American Home Warranty and they forward my claim to this company.
I’ve been waiting 4 days until someone arrive to my property just to «evaluate» the problem. They gave me a 4 hour window for the technician to arrive (from 12 to 4pm) At 4.50pm I was following up on the phone were the technician was since he never arrived. After «waiting» for someone to call back to confirm, I dial the number again and the office was closed, I decided to send an email and I got a very unfriendy response «the office is closed (send from an iPhone). The technician arrived around 5.30pm.
After waiting for a week to see if the warranty was going to cover I decided to call the company again and they say «oh yes I don’t know why anyone called you». They ended up creating an appointment (4 more days waiting) between 8am and 12pm. At 11.40am I called the company because the technician didn’t show up. Once again, waiting and waiting for someone to call back to say when the technician will arrive. I called again 12.30pm and they said the technician was not going to be able to make it because «lalalalala» and they have to reschedule.
I asked to be transferred to a supervisor and I am writing this review as I wait on the line for already 30 minutes.
Worst customer service ever, extremely long waiting time on hold, undesirable company to work with.

I truly wonder if the owner of this company (Cal Home Construction) (MICHAEL DAVIDOV) even reads these reviews. Here’s our story. Cal Home plumbing and construction plumber came out to our residence on 11÷13÷13. The plumber advised we needed a new tank for our toilet (Mansfield-​Sloan tank). The plumber advised he would need to order it and the dispatcher would call for a follow up. Well… today is 11÷25÷13 and 12 days later? NO tank and not even a call back from ANYONE at Cal Home Plumbing and Construction. My wife and I have called numerous times and their dispatcher keeps telling us their computer system is down? 12 DAYS PEOPLE… WITH NO TOILET? AND WORST… NO CALL BACK OUR FOLLOW UP. I’m really tempted to post this on Angie’s List, Face Book and Twitter. We will see what the outcome is.
