Used to be one of the best spots in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, but since they change owner the food is completely diferent, taste, look and quality of the food that we are used to have every time we have lunch in café hill(used to be once or twice a week that we order from our office) and they raise the prices!

I really love this place. First off the service is great, the people working there are very friendly which is pleasant. Their fries are legit incredible, and there chicken tacos are delicious. I’ve been eating here since I was a kid but they changed owners, upgraded their menu and service tremendously. The place is always jam packed too, which shows you how popular they are.

Spicy tuna tostada is out of this world. Better than a lot of the sushi places I go to. They love the spice aspect which is big on my list. Definitely a hidden gem in the jewelry district. Friendly staff and amazing ppl. I high recommend this place to anyone stopping by or working in the area.

Have been impressed with this place the two times I’ve gone. Hummus is on POINT. Like, as good as Sultan Chicken, which I think is the best hummus in all of DTLA. Philly cheesesteak was solid. Filet mignon kabob was tender and delicious. Fries stayed crispy in transit. Totally in the rotation now.

Had tacos on special today 3/$ 5. I ordered two steak and one chicken. The tacos are pretty simple: cilantro and onions with a mild sauce. The steak tacos were okay, the chicken was kind of dry. I also ordered a side of fries, which were crispy, warm, and fresh even AFTER my 10 minute walk home. Overall, not bad for good, cheap food.

Café Hill is seriously my favorite café in DTLA. Their spicy filet salad is to die for, the added mango and avocado blends perfectly with the spicy kick. You must try their spicy tuna tostada, cheese balls, and brussels sprouts!!! Friendly staff, quick service, what else can you ask for?!

Love the Tuna tostada, crispy rice cakes with tuna! Salmon salad for lunch was truly delicious with great flavors and spices and mango’s. I highly recommend it, small place with a lot of great dishes and many jewelry district loyal customers are regulars.

This place is a hit or miss. Sometimes the food is good but other times they barely put anything in my meal. I order the same thing every time I call in and every time I get my meal the portion gets smaller and smaller. I was reading one of the reviews and the person said the girl that answers the phone is very rude. I agree with that person 100%. She really needs to learn phone etiquette. Wished they were more consistent and had better customer service.

Omg, this place is a diamond is the ruff, Armen is one of a kind, he’s so knowledgeable about his food and his service is as though you’re dining at a 5 star restaurant. I had the Brussel sprouts which were exceptionally delicious, I also had the ribeye cheesesteak sandwich, the bread was so moist on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside, cheese melted between each bite, the portions are so amazing, you even have leftovers for later! Right down to the hot, crispy french fries that were just perfect, Armen even made me a spicy tuna on rice cake which is by far the best spicy tuna ice ever tried, Armen really knows his food and what it takes to run a restaurant in the middle of downtown LA. His competition if it even exists better watch out, if he ever chooses to franchise I’ll be his first franchisee and I’m not easily floored by food I’ve traveled to many countries tried all kinds of food and this place gives me the variety of fish, filet mignon, ribeye, chicken, sandwiches, salads, soups, and even desserts. My hat off to you Armen, I’ll definitely be back here and I’ll bring tons of referrals with me! Zahraa

Small little jewel on hill street. Dont let the size of the restaurant fool you tho, what they lack in size they have in flavor and service. Everything on their menu is relatively competitive with the prices in downtown… Their food is delicious, try the phily cheesesteak sandwhich… you can never go wrong with that !!! . If you watching your figure for the summer try one their salads… trust their salads will have full all day also try: the salmon plate, the filet mignon, the crispy david, or the spicy tuna tostadas. Their service what can i say they always friendly and ready to help if you have any questions or if you not sure what to eat. Dulce always a sweetheart with a permanet smile… The awesome cook always happy to make you a delicious meal… i enjoy been there everytime i go for a quick bite. They always ready to serve you and to make sure your food is amazing!!!

Me and my hubby made a quick stop here when we were running an errand in the jewelry district and let’s just say that it was not a quick stop. He ordered two small tacos — one salmon and one chicken. He said they were ok but chicken was definitely better. It took 25 minutes even though they said 15. Place has outdoor and indoor seating and awkwardly feels like you’re in a club(maybe it’s the music?). Nice people.

Great new sandwich shop in the Diamond District. The owner keeps a close eye on things to make sure you get your food fast. Food was tasty and relatively good prices for downtown LA.

Place is renovated. Looks good inside yet not a dine in spot. You got to order over the phone and pick up your food. For the person who is on the go for a quick lunch.

So you’re in the Jewelry District, enjoying the Art Deco architecture and trying to ignore the ever so slight stench of urine on the wind, and you’ve just been reprimanded by a grouchy security guard for taking a photograph of the old-cinema-turned-diamond-shop, and you decide you’re HUNGRY. So you stumble into this unassuming café with outdoor seating and order a few things off the humble yet eclectic blackboard menu. And you are blown away. The creamy potato soup du jour is like spooning up dreams. They bring you free French bread to go with it, and it’s perfect: crusty on the outside with a warm, soft center(not unlike the French themselves). The spicy tuna tostada is a bold, fresh fiesta of zing. And the cheese balls do not disappoint. Little bursts of flavor served with cool creamy ranch, they are piping hot when they arrive. At some point they forget you are sitting outside and still waiting on a couple things, but that’s okay: the woman working the counter is friendly and attentive and goes above and beyond to make up for it. And you don’t mind, anyway: you are enjoying the view. How much does this cornucopia cost you? $ 12. You’re pretty sure you just got a diamond ring for the price of zirconium. Twelve dollars in LA usually buys you a slab of bread and a measly slice of tofu bacon. Café Hill isn’t a hill; it’s a fucking mountain. You will most certainly be back.

What kind of food does Café Hill serve? Maybe the better question is what kind of food does Café Hill NOT serve since they seem to have a little bit of everything. I was already in the jewelry district and this place was convenient to grab a quick bite at. The price is more than reasonable for downtown but the food is pretty aver age in terms of taste. I had the steak sandwich, which was decent. It was about $ 8. They also have a good soda/drinks selections. They have a little bit of outside seating. I saw 2 ladies sharing the mixed kebob plate and it was humongous! I doubt I will be in the jewelry district very often but if I ever eat there again, I would try that for sure.
