Buttons & Bows LA is a unique and timeless designer resale boutique right in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. The store offers a wide array of fabulous vintage and modern designer wares for both ladies & gents. Located in the Historic Core of downtown Los Angeles, Buttons & Bows LA has quickly become a popular destination spot for both travelers and locals alike who are constantly seeking the latest in affordable and unique designer fashions. Karen and Monique opened the doors of Buttons & Bows LA in the spring of 2012 in continuance of an already flourishing online resale business the two had established a few years previously. Featuring eclectic jewelry from some of the hottest designers to boot, everything is meticulously curated by the owners Karen Marley and Monique Aquino. BBLA’s inventory completely mirrors the personal style and taste of both the owners. Karen, daughter of reggae legend Bob Marley, clearly identifies with his style in her choices of fun and eclectic styling

Walked from LA LIVE (free employee parking) about a mile to the place and was told it no longer exists. Still hunting for a vintage store with kimonos, leather satchels and decent home décor pieces I can repurpose, better luck next time.

Who the heck is CRAZY enough to write a bad review about this place???
Having worked in the Fairfax/​Melrose area, I’ve frequented quite a few consignment stores after work and they PALE in comparison to BBLA. I worked in a a place that rhymes with schmarneys, so I kinda know my stuff about designers.
This store has it ALL. I mean, ALL.
The customer service is top notch. Before I buy anything, I do like to do a survey of the service and the quality of the items. The goods at BBLA range from brand spankin’ new, to a little worn, to clearly worn, each with a corresponding price, duh. The only thing that kinda irked me was the fact that they do carry a couple rando designers that I’ve never heard of. The items are cute, but the prices were a little strange for the quality. For example. A Tory Burch dress was about 60. But this random designer dress was about 55. Ya know? Or maybe I just don’t know mid tier too well? Anyway, I’m going to be back often.
The prices are great. Shoes and purses are a steal and I ALWAYS want to keep going back and checking if they have anything new. I’m crossing my fingers for a PS1 because those are workhorses and mine is kind of dying after years of wear and tear.
Anywho. Ignore the haters. The owners are workers here are all super friendly and the items are really cute! :]

Even though this is my friend’s boutique, I am still going to write a review because I am also a loyal customer! I never can leave there without spending money! She’s got the best finds and I love how diverse the merchandise is. It ranges from moderate pricing to high end resale. I also sell through them so it’s not always a detriment to my wallet. ;)
Whether you’re selling or buying, go check them out. There’s something for everyone.

I was on Spring street tonight for the Art Walk and stopped by Buttons and Bows and I’m so glad I did. While I stepped in to browse, Rodrick offered me a glass of wine and got me a fitting room right away. The place has a earthy, cozy atmosphere and they offer a wide range of designers including Gucci, YSL, Christian Louboutin at insane prices. I scored a pair of Manolo Blahnik and Sergio Rossi heels for $ 70 each! I couldn’t believe it because most of the vintage/​consignment stores on Melrose and Silverlake cost twice as much and don’t offer half amazing selection that Buttons and Bows do. I can’t wait to come back.

Bumped these guys up to a well deserved 5 star review.
Scored an amazing pair of Givenchy booties that had been worn once for well under what you’d pay at any number of other stores. Aside from a couple slight scuffs on the soles (think car-​restaurant-​car) they are in perfect condition.
While I should have been done after that, I couldn’t resist a pair of Givenchy boots. They were kinda pricey so I was going to hold back, but after being unable to think about any thing else, I’ve caved. I was able to contact Kim and she not only gave me a bit more of a discount, the fact that she wasn’t at work and gave me a speedy reply on a Saturday sealed an already sweet deal. I’m genuine when I say, this is customer service at its best.
I lived in West Hollywood near Melrose a year and a half ago, so I’ve been to plenty of the designer consignment stores. If you want to talk overpriced, visit some in that area –Buttons & Bows is not one of them.
Bottom line: this is officially ‘that store’ to which I’ll be taking friends who come to visit.

Buttons & Bows is my absolute FAVORITE boutique in DTLA!
If you’re looking for high quality, gently-​used designer pieces at an accessible price, this is the place for you! In the last few months alone, I’ve scored a gorgeous Rebecca Minkoff black & gold crossbody bag that I wear with EVERYTHING, a pair of super-​cute gold DVF jellies, a vintage YSL black french cut bathing suit, a perfect-​for-​summer blue romper & a floppy black zorro hat. About a year ago, I purchased a custom-​made, floor length black Alaia gown for only $ 800, which I later found out retailed for over $ 5K. It took everything in me not to flip it on eBay! And how can I forget the red Herve Leger dress that I got for under $ 400 or the beautiful, gray Barbara Bui satchel that my boyfriend bought me for less than half of the retail price?! Perfection. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg… from Marc Jacobs to Stella McCartney, I always find an amazing deal!
Insider Tip: Follow the store on instagram — @buttonsandbowsla. Not only will you see some great ideas on how to wear items from the store (Karen, Mo, Kiani & Roderick just oooooooze style!), but if you see something you like, all you have to do is message them, and they will hold the piece for you. How’s that for customer service? I’ve been shopping at Buttons & Bows since the day it opened, and they have yet to disappoint. I highly recommend it.

I’m sorry but you’re making statements that are just assumptions or lies. As I originally stated, I found the EXACT same jeans on Marc Jacobs website, MSRP of $ 78. To make that clear, it was not eBay, an off price site, or a FLASH sale site as you stated. MSRP is manufacturer’s suggested retail price, not a sale price.
Please review this link and tell me how these are not the same jeans:
Until you prove where you are getting this price of $ 395, I’m guessing you put a little too much faith in a consignee.
Lastly, yes, I did get a wonderful Gucci windbreaker for a great deal. However, as I said before, I just can’t wrap my head around why someone would be so unwilling to admit to making a mistake. Unfortunately, this alone has diminished all confidence I had in shopping at your store.

Great boutique, great vibes, I leave my consignment here. I don’t expect a miracle turn around as its shopping — the pieces have to speak to the right person. But when I am looking for a dress or some good shoes that I don’t want to pay an arm and a leg I go here. I also come here for the wine when they have Artwalk and Shopwalk.
Also, they post to instagram, so if I follow them to get up to date listings on their goods!

This review is just as a consigner. These guys don’t communicate, not a peep!
I left my things with them in late June. A few weeks ago I realized that I had never heard back. No update to let me know if things sold or didn’t sell. No notification to come in and pick up my clothes. No response to an initial email. Over about 5 months!
I totally understand that it’s hard to keep track of all the different people consigning but the radio silence isn’t a great way to build trust…
I emailed again, got a reply, and I’ll be coming in to get my things. They were polite enough but gosh, I’ll think twice before I consign here again.

A lovely store in the heart of DTLA. Amazing finds and great deals! The girls of BBLA definitely have an eye for fashion and choose the right pieces to compliment their store. A must shopping experience if you’re in the DTLA area an added bonus the staff is super informative and nice!

I popped in here today on a friend’s recommendation and wound up whiling away the afternoon with Roderick, one of the buyers/​sales associates. We put together some fantastic outfits, and I felt so welcomed!
I left with a gorgeous leather vest ($ 70) and diaphanous white dress ($ 30) and had a tough time leaving other contenders behind. Although there are some higher-​end items in the $ 250+, there are many fantastic choices under $ 100 and even under $ 50. I saw lots of Marc by Marc Jacobs and other well-​known labels alongside indie favorites.
Overall, the shop was well curated and clearly loved, as reflected by the friendly employees and cast of regulars who popped in to say hello while I was shopping. So, come in for a dress or bag, but stay for the company.

I discovered Buttons & Bows not too long after they first opened (Spring 2012) and I’ve been shopping ever since! My first purchase was a vintage Ralph Lauren leather belt and it’s still one of my favorite accessories. I have purchased dresses, blouses, pants and a pair of timeless red Fendi pumps that go with everything!
I’m fortunate enough to live two blocks away and there’s been several times when I made a «quick run» to find something for the evening. Also, the ladies who work there are super chic and will always go out of their way to help you find what you’re looking for.

Love shopping here, they have amazing designer clothes, handbags and cool shoes for less…
The ladies are friendly and helpful and I love the new location on 6th Street… I bought a few blouses and a really cool belt a few months ago and I love it… It’s so much fun to buy resale and the clothes are high quality and beautiful.
The Location is on 6th street across from Round2 which is another great resale store… so many fun shops DTLA…

Buttons and Bows has a great selection of current fashion at a fraction of the price. Some of the stuff is even new. It is consignment which means that some of the stuff is sold by people just trying to sell there once or twice used items. You can bid on the items too. Such a great concept. I have seen current Marc Jacobs, Report Signature, Channel etc stuff there. Some stuff is brand new and some things have been worn once or twice. Everything is in great condition! The shop keepers are always very friendly.

OMG! I just found the BEST «pre-​owned» designer clothing boutique in DTLA! Actually, in ALL of LA!
I walked into Buttons & Bows and it immediately reminded me of some designer consignment shops in Paris. It’s kind of like a boutique version of Wasteland on Melrose, with a waaaaayyyy better selection.
Do you like designer threads, but feel guilty about using your entire paycheck on a dress? Do you wish you could find chic used items so you can reuse and help save the planet? Do you hate paying an arm and a leg at Decades for a used blouse?
If you answered yes to these questions, you need to get to this place pronto!
They have all sorts of nice items from designers that are featured at Barney’s and Shopbop. They also have Italian and French designers. There are shoes and other accessories as well.
By the way, it’s moderately priced but very reasonable because everything in the store was hand picked by the owners, they don’t have junk in there.

Also, a random fact that one of the owners is Bob Marley’s daughter. That woman has some good taste, thank God for all us who appreciate beautiful things!
They moved recently, so check out their new space, it’s near their old space.

This lil shop shows that downtown LA is on its way to becoming a great place. Restaurants, cafes, bars, and lofts have been popping up all over downtown, but never any real places to shop. until now. Designer labels for less, hand picked by the lovely owners, Mo and Karen. There are tons of amazing items here. dresses, jewelry, shoes, handbags, blouses, skirts, etc…
Think all your vintage/​thrift/​estate sale/​rare gem finds all in one lil lovely place. =)
