We know you have many choices when it comes to choosing the first school experience for your child. At Building Blocks Christian Academy we are pleased to be able to provide the community of West LA with a quality early childhood program that exists to equip children with the essential building blocks for life — body, mind and spirit.

Our program blends play-​based learning with hands-​on academic experiences to prepare the children for the next level in their education. We provide a program that reflects the developmental level of each child through individual, small group and large group activities. We balance our day with both active and quiet time and indoor and outdoor play.

We offer full day and half day programs, extended care options and flexible scheduling. We are open from 7:30 am-6:00 pm, Monday-​Friday. We have a newly renovated classroom and a large outdoor space featuring a spacious grass yard and new playground equipment. Our license is #197 419 123.

Meet the Manager

Kaylen O.

Manager

Kaylen has been with Building Blocks Christian Academy since its start. She was hired in July 2013 to open the preschool. Before accepting the position at Building Blocks, Kaylen was lead teacher and director for four years at Ascension Lutheran Preschool in Escondido, California. Kaylen graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. She double-​majored in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. In addition to meeting state of California early childhood requirements, Kaylen holds a teaching license in the state of Minnesota with certifications for grades K-​6, and a specialty in Social Studies grades 5 – 8. Kaylen is excited to help Building Blocks Christian Academy continue to grow and provide a loving, nurturing environment which maintains its high standards in excellent education.
