Joey is an absolute GODSEND! She was referred to me through a mutual friend and I really didn’t know what to expect. Having just had my boyfriend move in, I knew that I could really use de-​cluttering in a general sense, and to make more room for him. I was shocked at how thorough she was! I was also shocked to learn that I had been hoarding irrelevant pieces of paper. This was a really cleansing experience because some things were really hard to let go of. I had full on anxiety at some moments– but by the end of it I felt like a huge burden that I didn’t even know I’d been carrying, had been lifted. She alerted me to things I never would have seen or done anything about on my own.
NOW I get down to brass tacks because, well, I know where the heck they are! Do not hesitate to do this for yourself.

I wanted to find help organizing a bedroom for my LA based adult daughter so I searched for a Personal Organizer on Unilocal. I called 3 highly rated organizers. Joey answered my questions honestly and enthusiastically. I knew I had found The One. My daughter and Joey connected and set up an appointment very quickly. My daughter’s comments after the job was competed were, «WOW! She’s amazing! She is so sweet!»
This was a gift to my daughter so Joey followed up with Before and After photos of the bedroom. I was so pleased my heart smiled. Obviously Joey was very efficient and thorough in her work. The two worked for about 4 hours and the transformation was amazing and complete!
As I get older and wiser I realize that we all need the assistance of a professional in areas of our life where we lack confidence and proficiency. Organizing can be difficult and emotional. Having a professional makes a difficult task possible and successful.

So Joey came into my life by way of an old high school friend that I now only know via FB. She, in turn, found Joey on Unilocal.She had nothing but good things to say about her and I totally feel the same. I have a friend who basically does a similar job and has helped me immensely in the past, but inevitably we end up chit chatting and doing other things, though we have kicked serious butt in the Area over the years. I’m basically the only child of an only child and I inherited everything after my grandparents and mom passed away. My grandpa was a collector of all sorts huge and small as was my mom and it just become too overwhelming to sort through all the stuff! It wasn’t so much emotionally overwhelming, but I would get sidetracked and distracted so easily. Starting was easy, but finishing was a problem.
Joey showed up on time and wasted none. She was in it to win it from the moment she stepped into the house. I chose the kitchen for our first encounter and we got rid of so much stuff I didn’t need and wouldn’t miss. She made decision making so much easier. She consolidated, purged, and reorganized. I was exhausted when she left just from the magnitude of what was accomplished. It took a few days to really feel the impact, but since she left I’ve been able to get rid of even more and tweak things a bit since I’m no longer wading through the clutter. She is happy, upbeat, professional, and is really good at what she does. She is also very reasonably priced. I highly highly recommend her. I know I will be seeing her again!
PS: I had to leave at one point to run an errand and left her at my house with my dogs for over and hour and never once felt uneasy about doing so. When I returned she had completely reorganized my cupboards in a way I might not have thought of, but now that I’ve lived with it a week or so, makes so much more sense.

So yes, I could have done this myself for free… BUT it it would have taken me years, it would have uprooted tons of emotional baggage, and i would probably have never finished. Spend the money to get everything done in just hours with someone who actually loves to clean and organize.
From the second she came through my door, Joey was like a whirlwind of joy, buzzing through my house accomplishing projects that have been on my mental to-​do list for years. She worked at a fast pace, checking on me every so often on how I was doing physically, emotionally, and mentally. For some reason, cleaning, purging, and organizing is so extremely taxing on my mind and soul. She always had a good read on me while we both cleaned, and would sometimes tell me to sit out for a bit and have a snack while she continued.
Something about her personality and professionalism made me trust her instantly. I was nervous before meeting her to handle my personal belongings, see my old embarrassing clothes, root through my drawers, and see what an absolute slob I was in my closet. I also have a very unconventional living situation that would normally cause most people to ask a million questions. But she never flinched, worked fast, and made it fun!
We got done in under 3.5 hours. I had actually booked her for 4 so she asked if we should stop or keep going. I decided to tackle another closet, and in exactly 30 minutes it went from being bulging stuffed with crap, to clean, organized, and holding only things that I need, love, and/​or cherish. I think by the end, I had filled 10 trash bags with trash and donations, which she whisked out of here on her own and handled the rest.
I now have the walk-​in closet I’ve always dreamed of! Thank you, Joey! I’m actually EXCITED (instead or dreading) to organize with you again!

Joey is absolutely wonderful. She is a pleasure to work with, and when the task at hand is as unexciting as clearing out junk in your house, that is absolutely key. She is good-​natured, energetic, and well-​versed in the best ways to organize spaces in your home to make them as usable as possible. She came over recently and we worked on my kitchen, which had become a space for everything that didn’t have a «home» elsewhere in the house. In three hours, we made a tremendous amount of progress and I donated or threw away things that I didn’t need, Joey went through the pantry and overhauled it completely, we moved all of the junk out of the room, brought out my decorative baking containers that I’d never had space for previously, organized things so that similar items were together in every cabinet, etc. My kitchen is a pleasure to be in now.
We have already booked our next session and I can’t wait to organize my whole house with Joey!

After a year of living in a shared space, I finally found my own apartment. My move in date is in one week, and Joey was able to go through all my junk in about four hours. We went through boxes of things I hadn’t touched since high school, years of tax returns, house buying and selling documents, and piles upon piles of old photos. She had me separate things into three piles: trash, shred, and donate. If I got stuck on something I didn’t know if I should keep or get rid of, she knew what questions to ask so I didn’t hold on to something I would never use or look at again. We ended up throwing away three bags of junk, two bags for donation, and one giant bag to shred. She also reorganized the things I’m keeping into an easy system, so when I pack and unpack the moving truck, I’ll know exactly where everything goes. She probably saved me five hours of additional work. She’s fun, energetic, and truly cares about making your life easier. HIRE HER!

I moved from a large house to a very small house, and for more than a year I have been in denial about how poorly I organized the space. Joey showed up today and I can’t believe what a difference just a few hours makes! She is enthusiastic, creative and efficient (and she brings her own tools!), but she’s also kind and sympathetic to how difficult it can be to make Sophie’s choice.
Not only does the place look miraculously better already, I know that I’ll be able to maintain the structure myself because she worked it out to my needs and style.

When my parents gave me a gift certificate to Brass Tacks for my birthday, I felt sorry for whoever it was that had to confront my disarray from the last decade; yet when Joey arrived, she made me feel like my office and home work space were an «easy fix.» She immediately tackled the bags and boxes of receipts and I am now sitting in my beautifully organized office with all of my papers filed in professionally labeled files inside my cabinets. My desk is clean and organized, cords hidden away, and items I customarily use, easy to access. Joey is warm and easy-​going and she made me feel at ease while she went through years of paperwork. She knows when to get rid of unneeded items and also where her boundaries are.

Now that Joey created a storage system for my once impenetrable garage, it’s hilarious that I actually thought I could do it on my own. Joey is AMA-​ZING! I seriously want to pay her to be my best friend ;) She’s so awesome! She’s so fun and so good at what she does. I needed help and guidance in my apartment. From organization to decoration.
I moved into my apartment a few years ago but still had a few unpacked/​unopened boxes: old electronics, things I even forgot I still had, stuff that at one time had sentimental value. Joey helped show me what was worth keeping and what I no longer needed to hold onto. Then we worked with what I already had in terms of storage possibilities and created organization solutions in ways I had not thought of.
The rooms in my apartment are long and narrow so I needed to be creative with placing my furniture in order to keep my rooms feeling open instead of closed off and isolated.
