Branded Entertainer

I worked with Mike Loggia on creating a website for my lab (
) upon starting my first faculty job at the New York University Neuroscience Institute. It was a fantastic experience on several levels. Mike brought an unusual combination of talent to this project; he is an artist, photographer and entertainment lawyer. I was also impressed by how curious he was about the scientific content of my work. We spent several hours discussing the design of the website until we finally nailed down an overarching theme. Mike maintained a high level of professionalism throughout which facilitated what I thought was a design that captured the essence of our work. Mike worked with me on protecting the intellectual property on this work. Mike also came out for a lab visit, where he took photographs that truly embodied our work. His background as an entertainment lawyer helped secure a copyright in the photos. Throughout the visit, he asked questions about experiments that reflected a genuine curiosity about neuroscience. This, to me, is one of Mike’s most impressive attributes and a reason why I consider him a long-​term partner in providing visibility for our work. Mike goes well beyond his comfort zone, perhaps realizing that there is a higher calling for his talent – Giving biomedical science the visibility it deserves in an increasingly complicated world. I have no doubt that this is a general attribute that can be applied to many other disciplines.

i have known the man behind Bokashii for several years now. you could not ask for a more genuine character than he. his passion for photography is ever present in his life. i have had to wait 45 minutes in sub zero temperatures just so that he can adjust the aperture, followed by snapping a zillion photos of a barn until he has just the right shot. the point is, his passion is unparalleled. if you are looking for a professional, experienced photographer that will do entirely what it takes for the job than mr. loggia is your guy. i recommend his work in the highest regard.
