Love Bonnie B. Bakery. The bakery is beautiful and welcoming. I have been to the bakery many times and have tried different goodies and everything is delicious. The soft lemon cookies and the oatmeal raisin cookies are to die for. The cakes are moist and iced with butter cream that is light and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. The buttery monkey bread is a must. The pot pies are filled with lots of chicken, fresh vegetables and a flaky crust. The lemon twists are my favorite and I honestly could eat one everyday. The brownies and lemon bars are delicious and so is the quiche. Every time I go to the bakery there is something new to try. I have tried other goodies and they are all yummy. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the bakery items. I forgot to mention the toast which is covered in cheese, bacon, bell peppers and tomatoes. This is a must. I have a friend who goes to the bakery every weekend and buys enough toast to have for breakfast during the week. I’ll keep you posted as I continue to eat my way through the bakery.

Bonnie did an awesome job on my birthday cake. It was gorgeous! It was almost too pretty to eat. I also love her giant cookies. It’s so nice to have a bakery in the area that serves up fresh baked goods.

When I first walked in I was impressed with the bakery but once I had interaction with staff that all came to a end! When I asked about the different bake items displayed I was treated as if I was I inconveniencing them in some way. No signs in front of the bake items so I had to ask. They cake and cookies were alright but because of the customer service I would never spend my money at this place again! Talk to your employees about better customer service and maybe even a smile.

Drove from Santa Monica, got to the bakery before 6pm (which WAS the closing hours) now they close at 4pm? How do you expect working folks to purchase anything from your store when you close before they get off of work? Meanwhile, they sat there watched us begged them to open the door for a sell of the treats. We got the cold shoulder.
You try to support your «folks» in business, but to no avail. What a disappointment. I tried, but I guess they got enough customers & support.

Everything in a bakery you could imagine. The lemon cookie is to die for. Yes it’s that good. The staff us really nice. The atmosphere is pleasing –it makes you feel like you’re at home. It cozy with the fireplace, the table with the pillows on the bench, and the cakes on display. The spinach quiche was really good. Most places you taste the salt but this place you taste all the flavors that should be there. I can’t wait to try the red velvet cake and the mini chocolate on chocolate on chocolate cake. I’ll let you know about the chicken pot pie.

This place is so warm and welcoming as soon as I walked into the bakery I was assisted by two wonderful bakers who were helpful! The place aroma from the fresh pastries just did it for me! The pastries that we purchased were mouth watering delicious! Can’t wait to go back. :) Super excited to find this little jewel!

Decadent… you close your eyes from first bite to last. We tried the brownies, pecan bar and chocolate pecan cookie. Each were spectacular Top Chef quality. Distinct flavor profiles and layers of enjoyable tastes. The brownie was dark, with tones of cream and fudge. Heavy, thick and very moist. The Pecan bar was caramel with a buttery shortbread cake type… wow! The pecan chocolate cookie was dense, buttery and yummy. The shop itself is very cozy and lounge worthy with table games you can play with friends while you immerse your mouth with the desserts from heaven. I will be back. I am intrigues with the rest of their menu. This is a tasty vacation. Enjoy.

Bonnie B’s is definitely one of my favorite bakeries in Los Angeles. She has a wide variety of sweets and some savory food. On the food side, her chicken pot pies see delicious and I’m not usually a fan of pot pies. My personal favorite thing is the breakfast toast with bacon! Delicious. Everything tastes fresh out the oven. On the sweet side, I’m a fan of all of the cupcakes, red velvet being her signature. The lemon bars out of this world and a must. If your lucky enough to get some cinnamon monkey bread before its all sold out, GO FOR IT. You won’t regret it. The lemon twists and peach cobblers are also pretty good.
The ambience is very comfortable and warm and a perfect place to dine in and really enjoy what you’re about to devour.
Her designer cakes are also very intriguing. Bonnie B and her staff are definitely going to be s successful business for years to come ! Go check it out for yourself.

Baking drives me crazy! So, I was glad to see a neighborhood bakery!
Quaint little local spot with cute décor. Reminded me of some of the cafes in Paris.
Stopped in today to try a few things:
German Chocolate Cake: You lost me at cold cake! GCC should be light, moist and melt in your mouth in texture. However, if you like a more dense texture to your cake this is the cake for you. Almost did not order after reading a review about the chocolate cake not being «chocolatey» enough. There is a huge difference between GCC and regular chocolate cake. Not the bakery’s fault for a customer’s unfamiliarity with GCC. Ok, I just tried the cake at room temperature… a tad bit dry for my taste.
Peach Cobbler Puff Pastry-​like Goodie: Ate it cold. Filling had great flavor. Peaches were crunchy… warming it would not have addressed the crunchiness. Crust was flaky but way too thick for the amount of filling.
Lemon Bar: My taste buds just don’t agree that cinnamon and lemon can co-​exist harmoniously. The crumble topping had cinnamon. The lemon curd was just tangy enough and the bottom crust was substantial enough to hold the generous portion of lemon curd!
Cheese Danish: DELICIOUS!
Many of the reviews mention the cashier as being unfriendly however, that was not the case in my visit. I might suggest brushing up on the ingredients of the items sold. I am allergic to walnuts so I asked i the GCC had walnuts or pecans and I was told the GCC icing only had coconut. Taking another look they were pecans.
Until I master making cheese danishes they have an occasional customer. I will be back to try the chicken pot pie. Wanted to try the monkey bread but none so far even comes close to that of my grandmother’s that melted on your tongue like a snowflake… I digress.
Purely my preference but I kind of like meeting the artisans of small businesses but if the baker of the goods was present I had no idea. It adds a nice, homey, community feel when you get the chance to meet the owner/​artisan.

The best place to have a nice quiet breakfast with great people and wonderful food!
The price is right and parking is easy !
And the cinnamon monkey bread is absolutely yummy !!

One lil bite of my Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie and I’m hooked! Wanted to try the Monkey Bread but sold out again. But, the young lady behind the counter gave me the 411 on sale out time on that bread. If it sales out daily before noon you know it has to be the bizness! I bet you one thing tomorrow I will have that buttery goodness in my mouth! I’m just going to go out on a limb about the bread after having the cookie! Oh by the way after my husband took a bite of the cookie his words were «this girl knows what she doin» I’ll circle back after we have a few more items.

When spending top dollar for non essential items, I also expect excellent customer service. On my first visit, after walking inside an employee sitting at a table doing paperwork barely looked up and said nothing until I said hello. Someone from the kitchen said hello, but the cashier who came out barely said anything and was very unfriendly.
The pot pies were excellent. …but Im not sure when or if I’ll choose to spend my money there again. I didn’t get the impression that my business was appreciated.

I am so sick of bigotry in reviews.
I first and foremost want to say that their confections are divine. PERIOD! What we are rating Is the FOOD after all correct?
No time for these uppity douchebags trying to drag out a beautiful black business because of a less than stellar attempt from ONE customer service associate.
I will say my very first visit was highly educational and I felt the passion which ultimately made me return. I throughly enjoy the lemon bars and lemon cookies (they are made of Meyers lemons-​which I learned from Bonnie!)
In a bakery I want sweet and savory, moist and tender and that they deliever for certain. Their cakes for weddings and other events are intricate and of the highest quality.
Every person has a story from day to day I try not to allow customer service bring me to a point that I’m blinded by petty rage an Chet myself out of a true gem in our humble city.

I was so excited to visit Bonnie B Bakery earlier today. I loved how cleanliness and the vibrant colors. However I was very disappointed by the lack of friendliness of the cashier who served us. She seemed unenthusiastic and like she did not want to be there. I asked her detailed questions about the pastries and she appeared annoyed. She did not offer us any samples nor information about their birthday cakes. I stated that I had a birthday approaching and that I heard wonderful things about their cakes… Nothing.
There was an older employee with a Bonnie B apron sitting at a side table, I’m not certain if she was the owner or a manager. Not certain if she could hear my interaction with the young cashier. Not good.
I am old school… Employees should be friendly and inviting. This was not my experience today.
The irony is that I entertain quite frequently and would have been a great customer. I don’t care how good the pastries are… Good customer service is a must for me.
In conclusion, I only frequent businesses that truly want my business and make me feel welcomed. I will not be back which is sad because the pastries were amazing. :(
Correct your employees behavior.

They have a pastry case with all kinds of delicious items. It was so hard to choose between the key lime tart and the pecan cinnamon bun. But I ended up getting the latter only because it was bigger, hahaha. It was so yummy. Wish I got more to try. Really liked the workers there that let me sample some cookies. So nice and helpful. They take cards! And there are places to sit and enjoy your pastries if you wanted to!

I must say that this is a cute place — and I love the clean look, and the fact that it’s in the neighborhood; plus many of my neighbors have been touting the great food there.
I stopped by last week, and had a taste for the lemon bar (which I heard was great), but once I got there, I ordered the chocolate cake. It was okay… To be honest, if I were blindfolded, I would not have said for sure that it was chocolate. It looked a bit light… almost like German Chocolate in color… but it didn’t taste «chocolatey» to me.
The truth is, I should have followed my first mind and tried the lemon bar, or the pecan bar, but for some reason, I went with the cake. Another good thing about the cake, was that I didn’t have to worry about working off all those calories, as I put it in my «circular file» so to speak.
Although this is note he best review for Bonnie B’s…as I’ve done in the past, I will give them another try… The next time, I will try either the pecan or lemon bar. More to come…

Very Fresh, delicious with a homemade taste. A wonderful additional to View Park, so happy to have such a professional Delightful Bakery so close by.
You can taste the goodness in the top quality of ingredients they use, no cutting corners here, they use real butter, creams and chocolates.
Quiche and Homemade Chicken Pot Pie, Yuuuuummm!
Friendly, professional welcoming Customer Service, they seem happy that you came and that is always a plus for me.
It’s a cute little bakery, very clean.
Only thing kinda annoying is the parking, they are located on Slauson a very busy street, however much worth the time to find parking, you will be happy that you stopped.

Today is my favorite co-worker’s birthday. I was on my way to work empty handed, having been too tired to bake last night. On the way in I heard a radio ad for Bonnie B’s Bakery, and somehow, even without having had coffee, remembered to google it when I got to the office. Boy was I glad I did!
This will certainly be the place I go for a beautiful gourmet cake. Bonnie does custom cakes to order, and does not yet keep a case of cakes for sale, so don’t stop by to pick up a cake without a pre-​order. When I called to see if one was available, I got Bonnie herself, and she offered to sell me the one she was about to bake: Chocolate. I was quoted $ 69 for an 8 inch cake that would feed 10 — 15 people. Okay, the cake was for my favorite co-​worker, not my mom, and I decided on a dozen cupcakes instead. Peach Cobbler Cupcakes.
I’m going to just let that sink in. Peach. Cobbler. Cupcakes.
They were little, (not minis, but dainty) but perfect, light, tender, and not cloyingly sweet.
They took my order on the phone and it was ready when I arrived at the appointed time, and was greeted by Bonnie herself. I really wanted to have some of everything, and am looking forward to going back to try a pot pie. They sell a chicken pot pie — and a lobster one. I was advised to call ahead to get one, and that local delivery is available. I won’t order delivery, though, because the place is so beautiful, and the staff so kind, that I’d rather return to the restaurant.
Some reviewers have been balking at the prices, one came right out and said that they think that the price is «too high for the area.» (Because if it’s not on the Westside you automatically devalue it?) YES, the prices are comparable Whole Foods and some of the best bakeries in Los Angeles. That’s because the QUALITY is better than what I get at Whole Foods. Not only does Bonnie B’s lead the pack among my favorite bakeries, it is right in our neighborhood, and being run beautifully by a small-​business owner. Bonnie will get my business over Whole Foods or Sprinkles any day of the week (and I do love both of those stores).

Wow! If I could leave my review at WOW, I would. My daughter and I came to this bakery after seeing numerous random posts from friends on Facebook. When we realized we were in the area, we decided to stop by. The first thing we ran into was the line. Because we had already heard soooo many good things about the food, we decided to go ahead and wait. My daughter sat down on a bench while I waited in line. There were tables and a long booth to the right. There were pictures of her delicious looking specialty cakes on the walls and then there was the display cake filled with different treats. As I waited in line, I had conversations with great people who were exclaiming how much they love coming to this bakery. They spoke about the different items they like the best, but how everything was good. The owner Bonnie was really welcoming also. The cashier was nice too.
When it was finally my turn, I got a little overwhelmed because the smells coming out of there were so good that my first response wanted to be EVERYTHING PLEASE! Instead of everything, I ordered 5 potpies, 2 peach cobblers, 1 quiche, a lemon bar, a brownie, and a cupcake.
The chicken pot pie: The crust was deliciously crunchy. It had vegetables and white meat chicken that was just the right size for me. The seasoning was good, and I have no complaints. It was just the right individual portion size, although I probably would have over indulged by eating a second one, but I was glad I saved room for the peach cobbler.
The peach cobbler: The crust was delicious, it was not too overly sweet, it had the right balance of cinnamon and sugar. It was enough for me to share and was very filling.
The lemon bar: Again was the right balance. I was concerned that it would be too sweet, but it wasnt. It was fantastically delicious. (more please).
The brownie: I got this one because of the Unilocal reviews that said the brownie does not disappoint.. . my only disappointment was that I only got one. It was delicious and my daughter ate most of it, and by most I mean all except for one bite that I had to fight to get.
The cupcake was delicious. I did not eat the quiche. That was a mothers day gift to my mom and she said it was good, but I did not get to taste it myself. It looked pretty though.
All in all if I could go back today, I would. I am now a believer and understand why the line is always long and out the door. This place is great. But, don’t take my word for it, go and try it yourself!

Heard about Bonnie B’s from a local dentist who is also my godmother. Had to check it out because the area just doesn’t have upscale bakeries anywhere. We always travel outside of the neighborhood to get croissants, cakes, quickest and such.
LOVED the bakery. We grabbed several items because we wanted to have tastings of a lot of their goods so I’ll break down what was ordered and mention the absolute must haves.
Ordered: Lemon twist cake, petit monkey bread, croissant, brioche, Brooklyn crumb bun, slice of coconut cake, chicken pot pie, spinach quiche, jumbo oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and peach cobbler.
Highlights: Lemon twist cake, croissant, brioche, coconut cake, chicken pot pie and quiche.
Lemon twist cake ⁵⁄₅: so delicious and pretty. A petit lemon bundt cake that’s moist and fluffy inside with a delicate crunch on the outside from the light lemon glaze on top.
Monkey bread ⁴⁄₅: nice dinner bread. The bakery sells challah varieties and other breads. Really nice and I enjoyed it with my dinner that evening. Soft and buttery.
Croissant ⁴⁄₅: I eat few croissants in the city. When you’ve had a croissant with real French butter, it changes you. LOL But this was fantastic. They’re using a high quality butter and producing the flaky, layered essentials in a croissant. I can’t wait to have one fresh from the oven.
Brioche ⁵⁄₅: designed like a cinnamon roll because of the rolled bread but very lightly sweetened. A great, golden bread with just a hint of sweetness through the layers.
Brooklyn crumb bun ⁴⁄₅: this would be perfect with some coffee. Perfect. It reminded me of a coffee cake but in bread form. The cinnamon crumb throughout is the best.
Coconut cake ⁵⁄₅: out of this world! I don’t like when a place overwhelms the cake with icing. Bonnie B’s has the best balance of moist, fluffy cake and light, cream cheese icing. Very light. This was delicious and dangerous. Can’t wait to try other cakes they make. They also had a raspberry and amaretto pecan in the display on the day I went.
Chicken pot pie ⁵⁄₅: outstanding. You must eat this. The pastry dough is perfect and addictive (good thing it was also in the quiche and peach cobbler). The creamy chicken gravy was flavorful with a healthy portion of chicken and vegetables inside. We bought more to have through the week — an old habit from buying things at places not local but now isn’t necessary with a place so close.
Spinach quiche ⁵⁄₅: outstanding just like the pot pie. The savory items offered at Bonnie B’s are hitting the right note. The quiche was fluffy (how many times will I use that word in the review? But it’s true) with a tasty melody of egg, cheese, spinach and that yummy crust. I wanted to get the quiche Lorraine but was outvoted. Next time.
Jumbo oatmeal chocolate chip cookie 3.5÷5: I’m funny about chocolate chip cookies which is why this ends up having a lower rating. I’m particular here. this is a big, golden, dense cookie full of chocolate and oats. Good flavoring and sure to be a hit for people who love the type. They also had cookies with nuts and a soft lemon cookie I want to try as well as palmiers.
Peach cobbler ⁴⁄₅: here was that pasty crust again making everything perfect in this world. The peaches were not too sweet but sweet enough with the right balance of cinnamon and whatever else they do to create the magic.
There were other offerings we didn’t buy although that seems unlikely: cherry and apple Danishes, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, other breads and sweets that are now blurring together. I’ll be back to try it all I’m sure. And I’ll be walking/​running there and back to counter some of these rich calories.
The décor was welcoming and bright. I loved the light fixtures. Chairs for sitting to either wait or dine in. As I was leaving, I saw a lady making a home in her quiche while her male companion said, «Have you had tried the coconut cake yet??» He didn’t look up from his fork and she didn’t reply since she was busy. Good eats, people.
Price didn’t bother me and was typical of a bakery with well made, high quality goods. I’ll pay for yummy baked goods and have done so all over LA, NYC, San Francisco, Paris and happily now, my own neighborhood.
