Berglas & Garfield

I lived at Magnolia Terrace Apts in Sherman Oaks. Not only does the on site manager seem to be legitimately bipolar, from which several long term tenants have suffered the wrath, but Cherie in the Berglas & Garfield office is horribly rude and dismissive. When I called to report verbal abuse from the on site manager, Cherie literally laughed and said that she has had «about a dozen» complaints about the same thing.
Then why do you continue to employ an unprofessional person who blows up on tenants, even calling them in the night to scream at them for parking in the wrong spot?
My roommate and myself were extremely clean with no pets and neither of us smoked. We paid our rent on time every month. When we moved out we received less than half our deposit back. The on site manager said he did not perform the final walk through (which neither myself nor my roommate were present for) and said Cherie must have completed the walk through and form citing several charges. When we called Cherie she was very rude, but then changed her tone and said that she was on vacation when we moved out so she did not get to do our walk through. THEN WHO DID THE WALK THROUGH? She told us she would figure it out and call us back the next day. She did not call. We called her the following day and she told us that the write up was for another apartment, but somehow got put with our paperwork. This still does not explain the fact that neither she nor the on site manager claim to have done our walk through. Also, it was well over the legal 21 days before we got the correct amount in return.
The building is nice and relatively quiet, but the company will rip you off in prices and the on site manager will repeatedly lie, if not scream, to your face and then pretend nothing happened the next day.
DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS COMPLEX. IT’S NOT WORTH IT.

Berglas & Garfield really take pride in what they do. They want to make sure to improve all properties which in the long run is a great way to maintain and even increase property value for its owners as well as making the properties more desirable for tenants!
A great management company overall!

Berglas & Garfield is one of the worst companies that I have ever dealt with. Their employees ignore problems and never address issues that come up. One of the worst employees at Berglas & Garfield is Cheri. You can call and leave a message, but it will never be returned. I had to call from a different number for her to finally answer and then she would give me the excuse that she was currently busy and would call back in 30 minutes. Needless to say, Cheri never called me back. I hope they replace their office staff with more professional employees.

I have worked with Berglas & Garfield for over 5 years and I have nothing but positive feedback about them. They are a trustworthy organization who truly cares about the well-​being of their tenants. As the owner of Allstate Maintenance Inc., who handles a couple of their properties, I know from the inside that they truly care about their tenants & the quality of living that they experience in their complexes.
Adam works day in & day out to make these complexes run as smoothly as possible, and if you communicate ANYthing to him, I can assure that he will make it happen. His staff at the home office is very caring and just a group of wonderful people all around. 5 stars in a service industry is rare, I would give them 6 if it was possible.

Who ever you have the pleasure of speaking to at Berglas in the Office, out on the Field or a Building Manager they will treat you like family some of the friendliest people I have ever meet. We have done work with many Property Management Companies and no one has came close to what Berglas and Garfield does. They are one of the best companies out there, their buildings are well kept and the units look Great! If you are looking for a Management Company or an Apartment, Berglas and Garfield is the way go.

Members of the B&G team (office staff & on-​site managers) are professional, friendly, honest and reliable. I primarily deal with Matthew at their office, and he has always been a pleasure to work with. Their properties are extremely well maintained and their vacant units are updated extensively prior to being leased to a new tenant. They take pride in their properties, and strive to create the best possible living experience for their tenants.
