If I could give a zero I would. I called on a Wednesday and got an appointment for Friday. I was told to ask for a specific person. I arrived 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment to fill out paperwork and the like. When I went to check in and I told the receptionist that I was a new patient and was told to asked for this person, the women behind the counter had no idea what I was talking about. They then told me to sign in and sit down. They had a full waiting room so I assumed I would be called back to receive my new patient forms. I waited and waited and nothing. New patients that came in after me (4) were all given their forms, etc. All I got were nasty looks from behind the desk. After waiting for almost an hour, I just got up and left, not wanting to make a scene, which I would have done if I confronted them.
If there was some kind of mix up, if I wasn’t in the system, or if I came to the wrong location NO ONE communicated that to me.
Terrible way to treat people, especially prospective patients who are having urgent medical issues. I never write bad reviews but I had to share my experience. The staff I encountered were incredibly rude, the waiting room was dirty and tattered and I did not feel safe in that environment.

what a terrible place! lazy women working for the dr on lincoln blv in santa monica, they hate to answer the phone, making apps, never gives the results for ours tests!!! and cancel the appt when you get there, OMG!!! Reba a persian old b****tch is the worst so rude and always mad… they do not care about the patients that needs to see the DR and the place should close!!! the dr is ok but always in a rush, i never want my mother to go there again!

After all of these reviews, I was a little apprehensive about going here. But, Dr Behroozan was actually great. I called for an appointment, and was seen the next day. The waiting room had plenty of seating, and I was called in within 10 mins of filling out my paperwork. The staff was very friendly, and the Dr spent ample time with me, listening to, and addressing my concerns. I’m set up for lab work tomorrow, am getting an mri of my knee, and was referred to a gynecologist upon request. In all honesty, I ended up adoring him. He was extremely easy to communicate with. I’m not big on writing reviews, but in lieu of the laundry list of Unilocal complaints, I really wanted to pipe in with my positive experience.

They only get one star for the ONE nurse who is nice there.
Dr Behroozan is one of the most condescending individuals I have come across in this industry. If he hates being a doctor and hates people as much as he seems to, it’s possibly time to consider change of occupation or retirement.
The ladies at the front desk have a lot of time to chat, but can’t seem to correctly process your referrals or anything else for that matter. You ladies would not stand for this incompetence in regards to service being provided to you, so don’t you expect the public to do so either.
This place is filthy. This is not a free clinic, and I expect more.
Judging from the lengthy tirades and years of them on here, this business could care less about it’s reviews.
So, I am filing my complaint with the insurance company (which hopefully has more authority and can actually hold them accountable and have some effect on their performance and level of care) and have already received my approved request to switch offices.
I HOPE YOU GUYS TAKE ALL OF THIS A LITTLE MORE SERIOUSLY AS THESE ARE PEOPLE’S LIVES. Our healthcare matters.

This place does not even deserve a star in my opinion! I went here just yesterday, I had an appointment at 9:45 a.m. and was not seen until 11 a.m. once i step in i see an assistant and then Dr. Behroozan barges into the room, doesnt read my file, and tells me that I am over eating and he cannot help me because i have gained weight. He CLEARLY did not read my file and all we did was argue. Once he was able to give me my referral he said «here is your referral for the ob/​gyn they can look at your vagina» i cursed him out on my way out. He still had the audacity to schedule me a follow up appointment when he clearly had no idea why i was there to see a doctor. I stormed out crying and in mich more pain and here i am without any help from a doctor. Where did he earn his degree? Online?

DR. MISHKANIAN; RUDE, UNINFORMED, LACKLUSTER, JUDGMENTAL.
This place is just the worst. I was assigned to this HORRIBLE doctor by Blue Cross… thanks guys! Needless to say, I’m calling my insurance today to tell them I refuse to pay so much for insurance coverage only to be assigned to a careless doctor.
I didn’t have an appointment but arrived at 9am on a Monday morning. Wait time actually wasn’t too long before I saw the doctor. She was cold and unwelcoming from the beginning. She chastised me for only being on Albuterol to manage my asthma. Ummmm, I didn“t have insurance until recently and couldn’t afford to see a doctor and pay for insurance. But she told me again that I shouldn’t be using my inhaler as much as I was. Ok, I get that, but I had no other option.
She writes me a prescription for 3 asthma meds. She doesn’t tell me the dosing or what the 3^rd drug’s side effects are. Then they stick me in a room and mumble something about blood workup. At this point I get a little panicky. This clinic is filthy. There are dirty fingerprints all over the walls, holes in chairs and doctor’s tables covered in duct tape (and no protective sanitary paper), and a biohazard trash can with NO LID! wth, that is disgusting.
Thank god they were apparently just referring me elsewhere for blood workup. I was going to refuse to have it done there seeing the conditions. Then they basically shuffle me out the door. UHHH BUT WAIT! I have questions. Dr. Mishkanian didn’t ask me if I had any concerns or questions leading me to believe that she wasn’t done seeing me. Oh, they make me wait another 15 minutes to see the doctor again.
When she comes out I tell her I’d like a referral to see a Pulmonary specialist. She says, «You don’t need one.» I explain that I’ve had one for 25 years and I would like to continue to see one. «That’s not necessary.» I have a lung disease that has been watched over closely my whole life by a specialist. I’m not going to let some low-​level doctor tell me otherwise. Dr. Mishkanian gives me so much attitude and reluctantly scratches down some Pulmonary recommendation. Why the hell does she even care?! I asked her how many months my prescriptions were written for. Two months. Then I asked, «So I’m supposed to come back here every two months to see you and get new prescriptions??» She responded with a snarky, «Yeah you would. But just go to the pulmonary doctor and she will do it for you!» OMG. I’ve never dealt with such an unprofessional doctor. She then told me I would have to see that doctor every month or two to get refills. I responded by telling her that every pulmonary doctor I’ve ever been to has written me a prescription for a whole year. That’s totally standard for many doctors. «No they won’t.» she told me. Are you kidding me? THIS LADY IS A NIGHTMARE.
AVOID DR. MISHKANIAN LIKE THE PLAGUE. SHE IS A NUTJOB.

1 ½ hr wait for my appt. way sub par care. I felt like a number. this office is awful. Changing my primary doc ASAP. This guy is totally incompetent.

just like everyone says… stay away from this place!!! the only people who come here or write good reviews must be employees or friends of the practice.
Appointments: good luck getting one the reception (in her heavy accent) will tell you he cannot see you for weeks. I dont know who keeps coming to this place that its so booked?
Wait Time: Once you DO get a date make sure you have the entire day to WAIT at the office… if you appointment is at 10 you will probably see him at 11 or so.

O.M.G how is this fossil still in the profession? I was wearing my baby when I went to see him and he was holding my paperwork in his hand and walks into the room and asks me am I seeing you or the baby… ummmm read the file you have in your hand genius how old is the patient you are coming to see?
he looked at my paperwork dismissively and starting going off about why I am on a certain prescription. i said it took me two years of therapy and consults to come to this combination of drugs and they have worked very well for me until now and I just need them refilled. Nope… Dr. Dinosaur has other ideas he just started off on the dangers of prescription medicine right left and center– he was actually telling me off for taking these meds! I tried to say «but doctor when i was in law school I tried…» and he cut me off… yes yes you need this in law school but afterwards why you take this? Ummm if you let me finish… i will tell you that i am saying I DID NOT have these meds in law school and if i did I would have been more successful. no no no… you cannot take these… go see a psychiatrist. BUT the psychiatrist already gave these to me! no no no go see a psychiatrist. WHY doctor? and the answer was no no no go see… now i have to reschedule with my same psychiatrist that prescribed me a year ago… more copay from my pocket!
The man is OLD he will NOT LISTEN and he is RUDE does not care about your health and is just an AWFUL doctor.

I hate coming to this place. Always here for hours and hours. I always call to make an appointment, and they refuse, telling me just walk in. He does nothing here, always sends me elsewhere for other doctors to do the work. This wait room is a mess. Too few seats and too many screaming kids. They never greet you on arrival or departure. The doctor is old and rude. If it wasn’t for my shitty insurance, id NEVER come here.
He doesn’t even tell you his diagnosis, he just writes a script and sends you on your way.

Called for An appointment yesterday, get me in for a consult today. Love the staff here. My kids go here too since they were born. Easy to make an appointment. I dont know what the other people are talking about.

Very bad service by the doctor here — I’m never returning.
I am gay and generally get HIV tests regularly. On my first visit, the Doctor’s response to my request for an HIV test was: «why do you need a test?» — this is a fairly reasonable question and I explained why I do this as a routine check. But then without looking at me he said quietly: «How long have you been the homosexual?» This was like an old slap in the face that I haven’t experienced in years. Nothing worse than being vulnerable in a medical office and having a doctor question your sexuality. I told him «since I was born, I’ve been ‘The Homosexual’. Do you have any more questions?»
I decided to return just for the results of my blood work. At the follow-​up visit, the results showed that I have high triglycerides. So, Dr. B. asked about my diet and I told him a few things, including that I’m a vegetarian. Then he asks me: «So what if I told you to go out and start eating beef, chicken, pork… what would you say to that?» UGH — The dude now had two, seriously offensive moments at separate visits. I know that some doctors think it’s healthy to eat meat, but he didn’t ask about what vegetarian food I eat to consider why I have high triglycerides (he seemed to think all I ate was pizza, which is wrong…), or consider if there were any vegetarian options that might work. He didn’t even tell me why he thinks eating meat would be healthy. After I told him I wouldn’t eat meat, he was done talking about it.
I don’t need any doctor who expects me to be a meat-​eating straight guy for my health.

Worst customer service, you have to call a million times till they answer the phone and they just in a rush to talk and end the call right away. If the staff’s performance is poor it reflects the doctor too! So better look for a better one, we want the best service and the best doctor we have for our baby.

I was here few weeks ago having my baby checked in for the first time. They are ah-​ok for me but not the way how I wanted.
Place was packed of patients with kids crying, playing, running. I have an appointment but still waited for at least an hour to be checked at.
The thing that bothers me is that our PCP is not the one who checked our baby. It is a different doctor but they sign for Dr. Behroozan, which is weird. I am there because of the PCP and not for another pedia doctor. I dont even know why our PCP is not there to see us. No explanations. Just like that.
The doctor checked on my baby but just like that. Nothing important though. After checking up, she didnt even say «ok, you can go and the front desk can schedule you for your next appointment». She just say ok, and she left. So I was like, should I wait or go out or leave? I had to ask the front desk what to do next since the doctor just stepped out.
I am looking for another pedia doctor at this moment. I don’t want any other PCP other than him to check since he is the Primary Doctor right? anyway, this is not the place if you want a small patients appointments because this office is definitely packed!

I just called to schedule an appointment for an eye condition which makes it difficult to see out of my right eye. The earliest appointment was not for SEVEN WEEKS.
Jesus H. Christ, by that time I’ll either be better or a hell of a lot worse. What a waste of monthly premium payments – having this guy as your doctor is worse than having no medical insurance (because at least you’d be saving money while not getting treated if you don’t have insurance). I’ll be switching doctors with my insurance company ASAP.

Unbelievable. Worst doctor I’ve ever visited, and I’ve been to doctors in third-​world countries in scary, back alley-​looking offices. For once in my life, I feel more care and comfort from a search bar on WebMD than an actual human being.
First visit — Wait for about an hour only to eventually be seen by two bumbling medical students, one of whom seems to have 5-​second amnesia like Ellen in Finding Nemo because he asked me the same question three times and forgetting each time what I said. In walks the «Doctor» (Behroozan), and he literally doesn’t even look or talk to me the entire two minutes I see him. He just talks to the med students and then sends me to go get tests, which turn out to be another type of hell.
The entire office is run poorly. They sent me to get tests and didn’t even bother to send the doctor’s orders so I ended up waiting almost 3 hours at the imaging center because the people couldn’t send a goddamn fax.
Second visit (follow-​up) — Another hour+ wait. Wow, he actually talks to me this time. No, not to address any of my original issues, but just to rifle through papers and tell me they didn’t find anything. At that point he definitely wants to get rid of me, but I (so rudely, apparently) ask him more questions because my condition has gotten worse from the first visit. He is visibly annoyed that he has to talk to me any longer. He does a lot of dismissive hand gesturing. His attending med student this time actually sounds more knowledgable than he does. He schedules me for more tests. I will not be going to them, I will be changing doctors, or just taking my chances on the Internet.
Dr. Behrozvan is a crusty old man who probably hates everyone who steps into his office. He is House M.D. only inept, no witty charm, and lacking any sign of a soul. So a terrible comparison then. Let’s just say he’s a grumpy old man who for some reason has a doctor’s license. I am fearful of this guy practicing medicine because I feel anyone who trusts him with their health is in danger of negligence.
I should have read the Unilocal reviews before I went. I wasted so much time because of this man. Just another «fuck you» from the American medical system, I guess.

Looks like I wasn’t the only one who I had a terrible, terrible experience here. I knew exactly what I had and what I needed to fix it because I’ve been going to the same doctor in Burbank about the condition I have for years, but recently moved to Santa Monica and driving to Burbank is an enormous pain. Sadly my insurance changed recently as well so I had no real motivation to drive to Burbank. Trying to explain what is wrong and get the appropriate medicine was like pulling teeth without Novocain. It was seriously like talking to a brick wall, completely negligent and did not care what I had to say at all, total disinterest. He wrote me a script for a completely unnecessary test, wasting my time and money.
Not only that but the building is in utter disrepair, dingy, dark, and probably unsanitary. Never again.

New insurance appointed this office as my primary care physician, so i wound up coming to see Dr. Behroozan. for Several other reviews have mentioned Dr. Behroozan’s terrible bedside manner, which I can attest to – but the more disconcerting experience I had was the fact that he answered a personal phone call during my appointment, told the person to hold on a minute, and then rushed through/​cut my visit short in the next 30 seconds to take his personal call. Since the appointment was to review blood test results and put me on a medication for a newly diagnosed thyroid condition, I had a lot of questions about this new medication and I had to follow him out of the examination room and chase him down in the hallway to finish asking questions about it.
I asked him whether there were time restrictions for when taking the medication or foods I couldn’t eat with the medication and he waved me off and said «no no no, you can take it at any time, and with any food.»
Thankfully, the pharmacist who filled my prescription wasn’t preoccupied with answering a personal call on their cell phone and informed me that it had to be taken first thing in the morning, with a ton of water, that I couldn’t have calcium or iron for 4 hours after taking the medication, nor could I eat for the first half hour after taking it.
It seems unacceptable that the person being paid to diagnose the condition I was previously unfamiliar with couldn’t be bothered to give me the correct, basic guidelines for the medication he was prescribing me.
Avoid going to this doctor at all costs. Besides being incredibly rude, he was careless and gave me false/​inaccurate medical information so he could answer his cell phone.

Your best bet is to get one of those kiddie doctor kits, a connection to WebMD and some pain killers, because that’s what you’ll need to do after visiting this doctor.
Dr. Benjamin Behroozan apparently moved, because my last two appointments were at 2221 Lincoln Blvd in Santa Monica, but apparently the level of quality has not changed.
New job, new insurance and so I make an appointment to get a prescription refilled and my annual checkup. All goes well and I’m told to come back in two weeks for my blood-​test results. Two weeks later, I go and after sitting in the office for twenty minutes, the doctor calls and cancels telling the nurse he had an emergency at the hospital. That happens, so no biggie, and I rescheduled for the following week.
Keep in mind, like many, I have an extremely busy schedule and these 8am appointments are challenging as is.
So this morning [today] I come back for appointment #3. The nurse did an EKG to make sure my heart was good and said the doctor will see you in a minute. 30 minutes after my appointment’s start time, I ask the nurse if the doctor has arrived, she pages him and says he’s stuck in traffic. I had to go to rush to a meeting and had to leave. Attempt #2 at seeing my doctor = FAIL.
The nurses are nice and I feel bad that they have to apologize for the doctor’s disorganization. The nurse says she will have the doctor call me with all results and updates on my prescription.
Later that morning, the doctor calls and said he had an emergency with his mother and had to take her to the hospital. «Okay, so how were my tests?», I asked. He said my blood tests were great and started to end the call. «Okay, but what about the EKG and my prescription discussion?» He totally forgot about those.
He then said he was going to write me a prescription for Ambien to help me sleep, before I stopped him to say that I never had a sleeping issue. So he was thinking of someone else or looking at the wrong papers. I don’t know.
As for the EKG, he said it was a little abnormal and that I should see a cardiologist! He asked if I could come see him again next week. I asked why I needed to see him when I have PPO and could go see a cardiologist and he said, «that’s fine too.» WTF!!!
I then expressed great concern on this abnormal EKG and asked what the issue was. He asked me if my chest hurt and I said no. He then said, «you should be fine then.» Is this an SNL episode?! This is not something I want to base on a hunch, nor do I wish I spend more morning wasting time with this alleged doctor.
I have never experienced such incompetence. I am finding a new doctor today. This guy also has family that in this building: one is a dentist and the other is a dermatologist. They will now all be losing my business due to Dr. Benjamin, as I was seeking appointments with both in the short-​term.
Three strikes and you’re out.
