Specialties

Barefoot Preschool provides a full day and half-day program for children ages 2 – 6. We are proud to offer a unique educational approach-based on the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the fundamentals of Judaism. Within our program children thrive in a quality care environment, carefully thought out and designed to support relationships among children, parents, and teachers. In collaboration we investigate, research, question, dialogue, exchange, connect, reflect, observe and create meaningful experiences. We see ourselves as dedicated and nurturing caregivers providing opportunities and valuable education to our community’s children.

Meet the Business Owner

Karen A.

Business Owner

Hi! I’m Karen A., the Director and Founder of Barefoot Preschool. My academic journey started at the University of Bar lIan, Israel. Where I studied Psychology and Business Management. I relocated to LA and continued my studies in Early Childhood Education at UCLA. I’ve wanted to be a preschool teacher ever since I can remember. I am now a certified ECE Director and Teacher. In 2012 I completed my professional development as apart of the Alliance of RIE Associates (Infant care) and instruct RIE classes. February of 2013 I joined a winter Institute Program in Reggio Emilia, Italy.

I have two children of my own and enjoy traveling, nature, reading, the arts, painting, photography, and makeup artistry. I love what I do and enjoy the process of learning everyday. I have a passion for working with children, and collaborating closely with families and teachers, in order to provide the best early learning experiences and creating meaningful moments in the lives of children.
