ALL YOU CAN DRINK SANGRIA/​BEER. Enough said.
Small but accommodating. We threw a birthday party here for 30 people, and they were able to sit us all together even though the venue is a little limited on space.
We all got the AYCD and just ordered a bunch of food and drank and drank and drank.
Be careful with the sangria because I woke up with a headache the next morning. Sugar. Ouch.

It is a very good place for brunching on Sunday. If you really love to drink, you got to pick bottomless with food. I sit on the bar, and the bar girl was very nice. you can sit outside, or you can find a dark place to date with your lover.

Holy open bar! Are you serious 20 $ per person for all you can drink beer, wine, champagne, and sangria within 90 minutes?! So down! Are entire group had to purchase this which ultimately is worth it even if you have 2 or 3 drinks in LA. The beer is really good, it’s from a brewery and it’s an ale, it’s not like some watery coors (don’t know why people even bother drinking that), wine is good just a typical red smooth Californian wine, sangria is amazing and we were mixing it with champagne, which made it even better! Basically the waiters just brought us three pitchers of everything and then whatever we finish they refilled, how great is that?!
To top everything off food during the month of June is all $ 7. Food is actually really good just ask waiters for their recommendations. I got the Bacaro fries, they’re like garlic fries with this amazing sauce on top and then a fried egg on top with yolk that goes over the top and if you want bacon! #amazing. I also got the margarita pizza, very good and melt in your mouth dough, (4 slices) definitely small so I’d order two if your sharing! Lastly I got the bone marrow and I’ve never had bone marrow before, but it was good and so juicy and they give you little baguettes to enjoy with it!
Service is phenomenal, very friendly, very easy going, and on top of their game. Anything you asked was accepted with a smile and they even crack some jokes when talking with us. You have to give any restaurant with an open bar credit for their service, they are bending over backwards with happy faces for a bunch of drunk people and they handle it so well!
Overall great place, but get an über there!

A little torn between a 3 and a 4, but I decided to give this place a 4 because I would come back. I came here for a birthday party and we reserved the long table inside. We did the set menu w/​open bar, which was $ 35. This came with four courses and the open bar consisted of Bacaro Beer, California Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, House Sangria, and Champagne. I don’t think anyone got the champagne, but the Bacaro Beer was a pale ale and light which I like! The Sauvignon Blanc is white wine and it was a bit on the lighter side as well. The Cabernet Sauvignon had tobacco/​woody notes to it. I think I ultimately liked the Bacaro Beer in the open bar menu. Now for the food…
Cauliflower: This was very meh to me. All I really tasted was cauliflower with an after taste of curry powder. I personally like smaller cuts of cauliflower because they are easier to eat. Some of the cauliflowers in this tapa was too big… this makes it harder to share with others. Perhaps next time cut the big cauliflowers in half?
Mac and Cheese: This is where things got a bit better. I actually smelled the aroma of truffle oil when they were baking it, and boy was I right. The mac and cheese had truffle oil and at first, I didn’t like the first few bites because I’m not a huge fan of truffle oil, but the truffle oil was so light that the taste eventually disappeared. I really liked the crunchy breading on top and mac and cheese is always my favorite.
Pork Belly Skewers: This and the mac and cheese are my favorite. I LOVE pork belly, and I really liked the sauce on it. People might dislike how I describe this, but I describe the flavor as a fancier version of the BBQ pork chashus you get at Chinese restaurants. The sauce is thicker of course and had a smokey sweet flavor to it.
Pizzas: Had two personal pizzas, but had no idea what they were called… one pizza was Margherita and the other, I believe, was Bianca. These came last and they were just okay to me. I’m a huge sauce person and these pizzas lacked the sauce.
Open bar is rare, and I’m glad I got to experience it here with great company. Our servers were amazing for they were patient and quick. I honestly felt bad because we were so loud and they kept asking us politely to quiet down haha. I liked some dishes while other dishes were okay, but I do want to come back to try their bone marrow and Bacaro burger!

We headed to Bacaro LA for brunch. To start with, the menu seemed limited and more so if you’re vegetarian/​vegan. They were also unable to offer substitutions or options. That being said, I do understand that some restaurants do not cater to specific dietary needs and that’s alright — this was just a heads up to other vegetarians/​vegans!
With some difficulty, I settled on the pancakes. It was a multigrain/​quinoa buttermilk pancake so it didn’t have the lightness or fluffiness one would hope for from a pancake. I also think they took the ‘small plates’ tag too seriously — there was such little room on the plate and at the table that I found myself inadvertently pushing food off the plate. The maple syrup was supposed to be flavored with cardamom, but the flavor was too faint to detect. I did hear from my friends that the Brioche French Toast was pretty good, though!
The restaurant itself is pretty and the drinks were well presented, but I’m not sure if that’s enough to make me want to go back.

Cool wine bar near USC. I’ve come here for happy hour after work a couple times. They have a couple different happy hour specials depending on the day of the week. The food is great. Lamb burger is very tasty. The fries are amazing. You can get it with bacon and a fried egg on top.
There’s a small parking lot in the back, but you’ll likely need to find street parking.

My boyfriend and I had high hopes for this restaurant but overall we don’t see ourselves coming back. The only saving grace of this place is its ambiance and its service. The food however was burnt, over cooked, and their flavored unbalanced.
Crab crostini (⁴⁄₅) it was pretty good. At first bite it reminded me of a tuna salad but with crab. You can definitely taste the crab but what sold it for us was the flavor the lime brought out along with the kick of a little pepper
Tal’s tower (¹⁄₅) had way too much lime and it was sadly all we could taste
Glazed pork belly (¹⁄₅) was over cooked and tasted more like burnt pork belly than glazed. The cilantro on top would have added another dimension of flavor to the dish but they were all unfortunately burnt
Smoked mushroom pizza (³⁄₅) was fairly good. It was a more burnt on the edges than normal and a little too salty to taste.
Bacaro burger (³⁄₅) is okay. Nothing amazing. Definitely have had better burgers before. The meat itself could have used more seasoning including the sauce.
Grilled chicken breast (²⁄₅) was simply too dry that despite the delicious Parmesan cake underneath it and a decent sauce, it was still a disappointing dish.

Josh our server deserves the all the stars! We had a party of 20+ for our friend’s birthday and he was nothing short of amazingness. He explained the menu to us a few times since we were a large group, helped us get as many refills as we asked, and was super nice the whole time and even made friendly conversations with us.
We ordered the All you can drink deal plus two plates (hot, cold or pizza only). This was perfect for sharing. The drink special includes red wine, white wine, sangria, beer and champagne. No hard liquor. You are free to pour inbetween whatever whenever.
For food, I got the Bacon & Brie Pizza and Bacaro Fries with bacon. Yes, I know this is a bacon overload but really, can that happen? I definitely liked the fries more than the pizza. The pizza was a bit dry and I couldn’t really taste the brie but the fries were on point. I was glad to see it also came with a fried egg on top. The yolk mixed with everything else in the bowl made it the perfect combo with the never ending beer.
I also go to try the pork belly, shrimp, Mac n cheese (I totally recommend this!) and the lamb burger. There was so much on the list I wanted to try so I guess I will just have to come back. Perfect for groups and just to celebrate the weekend!

I’ve been to Bacaro for both brunch and dinner and I an attest to the restaurant’s amazingness. Bacaro is pretty tiny and it’s a very popular spot amongst the USC student population, so I would recommend making reservations ahead of time.
This place is like a tapas bar – each dish isn’t very pricey but the portions are pretty tiny. Our server recommended that we shares the dishes and order about 3 – 4 dishes per person. A few of my favorites for brunch are: bottomless mimosas ;), burger, French toast, and the breakfast pizza. To be honest though, I’m never really full no matter how much I eat… maybe because of the small portions?
Free street parking is available, but the area is pretty sketchy at night so be careful!

Bacaro LA you sure know how to serve brunch. Came in with quite a big party (7 people). The restaurant was on the smaller side with little outside seating. I loved how the menu was arranged and how they served small plates. Perfect opportunity to try almost everything on the menu! I believe it was 3 dishes for $ 19 and you had the option of bottomless or pitchers. Our group decided to go for the pitchers and an array of different dishes.
What we tired:
Focaccia: (free with Unilocal check-​in) Very crunch and hard. I believe it was served with pesto and garlic spread, which was so good. So much flavor. I wish there would’ve been a few more pieces though, not sure if this portion was because of the check in deal or if it was the actual portion.
Potato Hash: The chorizo flavor was a little too strong for me personally but other people in my party really enjoyed it. I also felt like it was a little too mushy but worth a try!
Crab Cake Benedict: Simple crab cake but the egg and hollandaise was really good. Can’t go wrong with ordering this one. Except you might want like 5 more.
Bacaro Burger: (egg extra $ 1.50) Open faced burger. The patty was cooked perfectly «medium rare» and was very thick. It was moist and the egg is a must.
Bacaro Fries: A little on the salty side but these are just basic fries served with a fried egg.
French Toast: Omg. Probably the best french toast I’ve ever had. It was so sponge and soft, the bananas and strawberries were really fresh too.
Pancakes: This was a little bit of a let down after I tired the french toast. So if you’re trying to decide between the two go for the french toast!
Pitchers of screwdrivers, mimosas, strawberry bellinis: $ 11 dollars each, such a good deal.
Looking at their other specials and menus, I’m so excited to come back to Bacaro LA. One of my favorite brunch places.

This place has been batting a thousand today! Other than waiting a little too long for my last small plate, everything was perfect! We got the Groupon for 4 small plates and two bottomless drinks (check it out if it’s still available), and the wall is littered with deals and steals like happy hours, dinner specials, and great prices on their regular drink ($ 5 – 9) and food menus ($ 7 per small plate, $ 19 for 3)! The service was frequent, friendly, and relaxed! Who are these people?!
I had the lobster roll (seasonal special fresh that day from Maine, the Brioche French Toast topped with fruit, and chose the Bloody Mary. The lobster was on baked «steamed bun» generously drizzled in a savory, saucy slaw that complimented the amazingly fresh lobster (I could taste the fresh ocean). The Brioche French Toast is lighted toasted on top, crispy on the side and moist in the center, and rivals Square One’s French toast! The blood Mary was on point, very flavor with equal parts salty, smoky, spicy, and strong!!! The same was true of my girlfriends screw driver, a strong drink with sharp citrus flavors that went to down smooth! Even my vegan girlfriend’s tofu scramble made me believe I was actually eating eggs! This is definitely going to be a regular brunch and dine spot.

If you’re looking for a cute, little brunch place to drink and snack, this is the place to be! They have tapas (small dishes for $ 7) to eat and their drink menus on Saturday and Sunday brunch is really good! They have $ 5 mimosas/​bloody Marys/​Bellini, or $ 12 pitchers, or $ 15 bottomless. I tried the strawberry Bellini pitcher and I loved it!
TIP: Check in for a free focaccia during brunch time.
Focaccia
Cocotte: It was delicious! The egg was perfectly cooked and it mixed so well with the entire dish. The bread crumbs on the top made it so crunchy and delicious! My favorite dish here!
Croque madame: Probably one of the meat-​iest dish that you can order. It’s basically like english muffins topped with pastrami, cheese, and an egg. Egg over everything!
Bacaro fries: Added bacon to the fries, topped with another egg. The fries were deliciouis! I loved it along with all the toppings. Recommended!
Veggie Frittata: It was quite sweet but I enjoyed it. It was soft and I definitely recommend this dish.
The place is small, but I liked it because it’s small but it’s still really nice. Service was great and everyone was very friendly. Parking may be a little crowded on the weekends, but just park 1 – 2 blocks away and take a nice stroll.

A small little hipster place. Great for big groups or small groups.
Open bar for $ 20? Yes, get wasted. We were a birthday party of maybe 20 people and required all of us to pick the $ 20 open bar. So unfortunately we couldn’t go with that awesome deal since some didn’t want to drink.
The food is honestly a little overpriced. My friend and me ordered a $ 9 pizza (probably the size of 2 iphone 6+ next to each other). It was finished with 2 bites. Now compare it too the $ 9 pizza at Costco that feeds 5 people. And the pizza at Bacaro LA was a little too salty. Other than that we had a season dish salmon. The salmo was a piece of «too small».
I think I would come here to get wasted with friends but would reconsider dining here.

It’s that time of the month again! Sunday brunch time! Slave girl got a Groupon for bacaro and it was a pretty damn good deal. You have one hour all you can drink morning adult beverages, 4 tapas of your choice, plus a Unilocal check in tapa. For this much food, I had to bring slave girl number 2 for backup usage.
Well, let’s start with how sucking the parking situation was. We drove around and around and around more to finally find a spot 3 blocks away from the restaurant. There’s a rear parking lot that can be accessed from the 24^th or the 23^rd but it doesn’t help anything because no one ever seems to leave.
Since I have never been to this place before, my expectations for this place is zero and it totally took me by surprise on how tasty the food was. Personal favorite was egg pizza with bacon and crab cake benedict. Drink wise I really really enjoyed the bloody Mary. Slave girls told me they love the French toast over pancake.
Service was also excellent. We were checked on often on a very busy day and they made us feel warm and welcome for sure. At the end, they even charged the tips on Groupon so we didn’t need to worry about it. That was pretty cool.
Now I just need them to open a location close to me for my brunch pleasure every Sunday.

Brunch is my favorite meal! But I am always conflicted with whether I should go with sweet or savory, french toasts or eggs benedict, pancakes or omelette…
At Bacaro, which serves brunch tapas or cicchetti style, I can basically order everything that I want to eat for breakfast! Each dish is $ 7 or 3 for $ 19. I tried the potato hash, crab cake benedict, croque madame, bacaro burger, chef’s french toast, and bacaro pancakes. This was like brunch heaven! With 4 people, this was plenty to share. All the dishes were delicious. My favorites were the benedict and french toast.
You can’t have brunch without mimosa! They have $ 15 per person for 1hr for bottomless mimosa. Not everyone at my party wanted mimosas so I ordered a pitcher to share. Good thing about these mimosas are they are made from fresh squeezed orange juice!
I love the décor of the restaurant, especially the wine bottles that are lined up on the ceiling. You get a hipster vibe here. This place is definitely for the younger crowd. Service is also great here! Everyone was friendly and attentive. Parking is always a challenge in LA but I managed to find street parking on a Sunday so just be patient and drive around!

Delicious and convenient restaurant for USC students. The tapas wine bar is a go to during the weekend for games days and also a nice place to have dinner during the week as well. The chase plates offer a nice pair to the wine options. I usually get the sangria but you have to be careful sometimes its really watered down depending on how long its been since a fresh batch was prepared.
The bacaro burger is one of my personal favorites. Its and open-​face burger which eliminates the carb intake which is always a plus. I get mine cooked medium rare and it is always the perfect amount of juicy and tender. You can even add a fried egg on top which I know many people love. My other go to is Noa’s cauliflower. Its roasted cauliflower on a bed of arugula that has a small spicy kick to it.
The service is super great. I came for dineLA and they were packed but still received exemplary service. Parking isn’t too convenient since its right off Hoover. You sometimes need to scour around the residential block for a spot.

I came here for a Sunday brunch!
LOVE:
— Ambiance: Very fun, brunchy, and hip.
— Mimosas and mimosa-​like drinks are all on point. Perfect spot to get a pitcher for the table.
— Food looks great!
— Favorite dish: Crab cake hollandaise. The best thing here! If I come back, I will only order this. Unless I am still hungry, then I will have to order the lamb ragout polenta.
MEH:
— Food looks better than they taste. I tried about 9 dishes. Some dishes are good, and some are okay. For a brunch spot, it is fine. I would only come back here for the mimosas and good company, not the food.
— It was our friend’s birthday, so we asked if they did anything special. The answer is no. Really? Sign the menu, do anything! You don’t have to give us a free dessert. You are basically reminding people to never celebrate here because they are not special enough to do anything special. Considering that virtually EVERYWHERE does something special.
— Brunch time gets very busy, they messed up on order multiple times. Coffees that never came, mimosas that never came. I had to be very active to flag anyone down for service, get the bill in advance to make sure that it is correct, cancel the items that were never going to come. Servers were nice, but were not very warm or helpful. A dining experience shouldn’t require this much work.
Bottom Line:
I had lots of fun here, but food and service is mediocre. If I came back, I would order:
1) crab cake hollandaise
2) lamb ragout polenta
3) mimosas

$ 15 for one hour of unlimited brunch drinks including:
–Bloody Mary served in a small glass but with remarkably good flavor! Only 4 $ if you order a la carte ⁵⁄₅
— Sangria that was pretty standard. No fruit,
Others I didn’t try include mimosa, Bellini, sparkling sangria and screwdriver. Supposedly the OJ for cocktails is fresh squeezed!
— For entrees everything is 7 – 8 bucks or you can get 3 for $ 19.
Bacaro burger: reportedly a must try! Comes out looking odd the patty sits atop the bread which is a slightly thick crusty but not crunchy roll — the flavors are supreme. ⁵⁄₅
Bacaro fries: owners own recipe gravy and a softly cooked egg. Tasty indeed. ⁵⁄₅
Goat cheese polenta: polenta is actually made with the goat cheese in it– melts in your mouth. The lamb wagyu next to it is pretty bomb as well although occasionally you hit a spicy mouthful. ⁵⁄₅
Flatbread pizza– ordered two… one had salmon and pickled radishes. It was fine but it didn’t seem like the toppings should’ve been on a flatbread. Not that great as breakfast food either.
The other flatbread had an egg on it and was a more traditional pizza type. Still not that flavorful. ³⁄₅ for both.
This place is easy to get a spot at for a Sunday brunch (caveat — this was not during a game) — I doubt that is the case year round this was probably just a slow weekend because there weren’t any sports to be sportsted. It might have also been while the college kids were on break or something? The place was pleasantly half empty and not crowded or loud at all (but this is the opposite of what I read in other reviews… interestingly). We were super happy as we were a group of five and didn’t have to wait at all just took a seat at one of the long tables.

Tapas are my favorite dining style — I don’t eat much at once, but I always want to try everything. Tapas are a great way for me to combine the two!
I couldn’t resist checking out this place last night (Wednesday) and the Wine Down Wednesday deal is pretty clever and attention grabbing. For every round you get, it’s $ 1 cheaper than the previous. So you can essentially make your way down to a free glass. Maybe not the most economical (as opposed to buying a bottle), but it’s certainly fun! I had the house red Cabernet and mmm, it was just perfect.
My friend and I indulged in the 3 plates/​$ 24 total — otherwise it’s $ 9 per plate. (And also got another one heh)
Bone Marrow — which I thought was alright, nothing too amazing.
Bacaro Fries — fried egg, bacon, oh my god this is the way to my stomach. I mean, heart. Same thing. This was a delicious starter to our meal.
Bacaro Burger — this burger is open faced, something I totally missed in the description, so I was pleasantly surprised! The worcestershire aioli, holy moly, yummy.
Grilled Hanger Steak — the house-​made bearnaise was ok imo and the steak was rather chewy.
I was on a bit of a time crunch so I didn’t get to try anything else, but I’d definitely come back again. Our server, as well as all the others were always on it with a smile and super welcoming. The ambience is great for a date, as I had come to notice the neighboring parties around me. They definitely are able to accommodate larger groups as I saw many large parties of ~8 and even up to ~15 being comfortably seated and taken care of.

**STRICTLY SUNDAY BRUNCH REVIEW**
My boyfriend and I came here yesterday to do all you can drink before the Clippers game. Let me tell you, I am still struggling.
They have an all you can drink option for $ 15 per hour. They have an array of drinks: mimosas, bloody marys, sangrias, and bellinis. You don’t have to stick to just one kind of drink, so you can try a little bit of everything. I tried their mimosa and bloody mary which were both strong but good. Warning — their bloody mary is SPICY! If you look at the bottom of your cup, you will see a lot of pepper… no wonder there was such a kick to it lol. My boyfriend tried their sangria which was awful… We both don’t suggest you get it.
The place gets LOUD! And it is so crowded for brunch. This is a place to turn up on Sunday with plenty of rowdy USC college students. I mean, you are getting a serious deal to drink as much as you’d like for only $ 15. I just wouldn’t recommend this place for a casual brunch unless you’re trying to drink.
FOOD:
Food is just all right in my opinion; however, it is reasonable. You can get 3 dishes for just $ 19. And when you check in on Unilocal,you get a complimentary foccacia bread dish.
We ordered a warm kale salad, chef’s french toast, and the bacaro burger.
Food took a lot longer to come out than I anticipated. Portions here are small and you are meant to share everything. We got our warm kale salad first which had a lot of dressing. The salad came with a sous vide egg which was a total disappointment. I cut into it and the yolk was cooked all the way through. ²⁄₅ The salad was too salty in my opinion.
Chef’s french toast was the highlight of the brunch. Not amazing but decent. It was stopped off with bananas and strawberries. The bread was still fluffy on the inside and had a crunchy exterior. ³⁄₅
Bacaro burger was whatevers as well. It is an open faced burger with a fresh tomato, caramelized onions, served with a worcestershire aioli. The burger was just okay to me. It was really heavy with the abundance of sauce that all over it. And there wasn’t enough meat compared to the bread. My boyfriend isn’t a huge fan of eggs, so we didn’t get the egg option for an additional $ 1. ³⁄₅
SERVICE:
They were good with getting drinks. However, the food took a long time to come. Nothing out of the ordinary here.
Overall, it’s a decent place to come if you wanna drink a lot. In regards to food, I don’t see it being that memorable. Food is just okay.

Was sadly disappointed by this place. Came for DineLA restaurant week and the menu looked great. Had rave reviews from coworkers and as the only DineLA menu with an open bar, we were excited.
This bar is in a crappy location and doesn’t fit with its surroundings at all. I wouldn’t come back based on the area alone.
The space is small and cramped and once the tables start filling up, it is really loud and you can’t really hear the others at your table.
As is becoming the case with many LA restaurants due to the drought and water conservation, you have to request water at the table. The waitress didn’t mention this and once she had taken our orders was almost impossible to track down to ask for it.
We ordered our drinks and when they came, our waitress took our food order. That was about the last interaction we had with her until she gave us back the check after we paid. She did not check in on us once to see if anything we ordered was ok or if we needed anything else. I ended up asking someone else for water when we got dessert.
I will say that they are spot on when it comes to getting the plates out to you. The flow was perfect. As we were finishing up one plate, the next one arrived.
We ordered:
Cheese and salami plate: this was one of the best things we had. Fresh crusty bread, delicious cheeses and salami, and figs and almonds to accompany. Great dish to pair with wine.
Cauliflower: this was the best dish of them all. Cooked perfectly and a great tangy, spicy sauce on it.
Truffle Mac and cheese: a letdown. Runny and the flavor just didn’t work right.
Chicken breast on fried risotto cake: this was delicious. The lemon jalapeño caper sauce was great. The chicken was a little dry and the fried risotto cake was a bit dark, but overall a good tasty dish.
Bacaro burger: this was weird. The Worcestershire aioli ruined it and it was really salty. The egg was overcooked so didn’t have the runny effect you wanted. The burger patty itself was good. A disappointment as people rave about this dish.
Bread pudding: could have been great but seemed like it had too much egg in it and was overcooked. It was too much of a pudding consistency and no bread. It didn’t have the somewhat crunchy baked edges that are great in bread pudding. Ice cream was nice.
Sangria: it was ok. Very orangey.
Wouldn’t come back here. Might check out their place in PDR as the location looks like it is bigger and in a nicer area. Looked like there were some other good things on the menu that I would want to try.

Wish I would have known about this place sooner. It is a great tapas option not too far from the heart of DTLA. It is a small narrow place, so go ahead and make reservations just in case. The service from the staff there was really good. They all were helpful and genuine.
We tried six total plates. I would recommend two to three per person. First up was the Glazed Pork Belly Skewers. These were tasty and you get a good amount. The umami reduction gives it some nice flavor. Second was the Chicken Panini. It comes filled with mozzarella, fire roasted bell pepper and aioli. This was easily one of the best paninis I have ever tasted. It was crisp and full of rich flavors. Next up was the Bacaro Fries. They come covered with roasted garlic, lemon, smoked pepper sauce, fried egg and bacon. These were a little tricky to eat, but tasted great. You get several different flavors and textures that play well together.
First up in the second round was the Chipotle Chicken Wings. These were great. They were extra crispy, which I prefer. They also had great rich flavor. Next up was the Grilled Hanger Steak. It comes with a nice bearnaise. This was also good, but was overshadowed by how great the other dishes were. Last was the Bacaro Burger. This was really good, but was very difficult to eat. The burger is served open faced on a telera roll. It comes topped with caramelized onion, Worcestershire aioli and fried egg. The roll is large and difficult to cut, but once you cut it into manageable pieces you get to tasted those great flavors.
The food is very good. The service is very good. You also get good value for your money. We will be back.

I am surprised it took me until now to discover this place! This is a place I would have frequented when I was in college in LA. They have pretty good specials. We came here for brunch and we ordered 6 cicchetti. I like ordering a lot so I can sample many items, but don’t like to waste food so having small plates is a great idea!
We ordered potato hash, crab cake Benedict, croque madame, bacaro burger, chef’s French toast and bacaro pancakes. I liked every dish. There were the perfect size. My favorites were the crab cake benedict and bacaro pancakes. The crab cakes tasted very fresh and they didn’t skimp out on the crab meat. Sometimes some chefs add too much batter to the crab cakes that they become too doughy. The pancakes were light and fluffy! They tasted delicious. I normally don’t like to eat sweet foods but I like how they balance the pancakes with fresh strawberries.
During brunch, you can order pitchers for $ 12. We got a pitcher of mimosa. If you check in on Unilocal,you can also get a free drink. I have to say though, the free drink is not that strong and they give you less than when you pay for it, but what do you expect… It’s free!
I definitely want to come back for happy hour! I like the chill and hip ambiance of this place. This is a restaurant that can accommodate small parties, so if you come with a big group, you should check to see how they can accommodate your party.

My gal pals and I came here for New Years Eve EVE and the most I can say is that our experience was underwhelming.
We opted to go with the AYCDrink option for 90 mins and ordered the sangria. I’m not sure if they were understaffed but service was incredibly slow. It took too long for everything. The sangria also did not taste very good. It had a bad after taste which reminded me of a dirty rag smell. The good thing was they were very nice about it and allowed us to cancel the AYCE, and we just ordered some beers.
Out of everything we ate, I enjoyed the chili poached shrimp the most. The scallops were not bad either. However, the bone marrow barely had any marrow in it for us to eat which made me sad. The rest of the food was mediocre. It was also very dark in there and not in the cool, moody way but just really lacking with lighting.
I wanted to like it here because the servers are friendly but I don’t think I’m going to return just for the nice servers…

Came here for brunch on Sunday for a friend’s birthday. We heard of a good deal for bottomless drinks and tapas. Bottomless is $ 15/​person for an hour. They offer 3 tapas for $ 19. I believe these prices are only valid for brunch.
The place is very cute and hipster-​y. We had a small table reserved for us and a nice waitress.
We had a pitcher of sparkling sangria, Bellini, mimosas, and another pitcher of Bellini. The sangria was good, but seemed pretty weak. The mimosas were whatevs so I tried downing my glasses quickly just so I could get one more pitcher of the Bellini before the hour was up. The Bellini was very flavorful. I could’ve drank that all day. Unfortunately, I barely got a buzz from all the drinks. At least one of my girl friends got pretty tipsy haha. It was pretty hard to flag someone to get another pitcher. I’ve gone to brunch places where the servers are on top of making sure drinks never run out, but this place didn’t do a very good job of that.

I highly recommend the crab cake and French toast. I wish those had been the only items I ordered I would’ve gotten 3 each.
Stay away from the chai tea custard. If you’ve had chai tea before, this is not what you would expect. At all. Buuuuut that was just our opinion, you might like it so don’t take my word for it.

3.5 stars — the food is great, enjoyed most of our dishes, but the drinks offered for the open bar weren’t quite good.
Bacon & Brie pizza — awesome. thin and crispy with good amount of crispy bacon, soft melted brie, and a kick from the jalapeño.
Scallops from the seasonal menu — awesome. loved the scallops and the citrusy sauce that went with it. Didn’t care too much for the mashed potato (?) and capers that came underneath though.
Hanger Steak — awesome. cooked to the right temp, sauce was good, and the zucchinis that came with it were pretty amazing.
Lamb Burger — wasn’t too impressed. A little overcooked and didn’t have enough flavor. This one is a bit hard to share with anyone — tried to cut it and just became a mess.
Bone Marrow — just ok. a little bit of parsley and salt on the side would’ve been nice.
Chipotle Chicken Wings from the seasonal menu — probably the weakest of the dishes we got. If you’re picky with your wings, you may be disappointed.
The open bar included their sparkling wine, house red and white wine, sangria, or beer. If I had to just pick one from the given choices, I probably would choose red wine. But after trying all of them, I liked their house red wine the least. Sangria was too sweet. White wine wasn’t bad, but I just don’t like white wine too much in general. Sparkling wine was fun to start off, but I can’t drink that the whole meal. Best one out of the given choices was their bacaro beer.
Cute place to share small plates, and they have fun specials on different days that I’m curious to try out. I liked their food, but I’ll probably not do the open bar deal next time.

We went here recently for my husband’s annual company holiday party. We were a large group (almost 30) and they gave us a semi private section of the restaurant. The company opted for the set menu with the unlimited drinks option and the drinks were practically bottomless :) Everyone had a smashing time that evening but were all relatively disappointed by the food quantity. The quality and flavors of the food were good (some items came out cold, unfortunately its to be expected when dining in such large groups). We actually attempted to order food items in addition to our pre-​set menu and the kitchen had difficulty with running out of food LOL. I guess its difficult to anticipate such difficuties when operating a small restaurant, but I still give them 4 stars overall.
The service was fantastic, I forget our servers name, but she was very attentive especially when considering the size of our group. Parking is non existent so plan accordingly or be prepared to circle the block a couple times. Value is fantastic, considering the number of people in our group, amount of food and beverages was priced amazingly (however, many were still hungry upon departure).
Overall, I’d recommend this place for a date night or going with a smaller group. Will I be back? Maybe, but most likely not… However, I do encourage you to give this place a try if you’re not very hungry and in the area.

I totally forgot about this place! Still loving it! But they did not have the chipotle cauliflower OR the crispy pig ears :(
B: Hangar Steak — a little tough this time, sauce was bland.
A+++: Mussels — Seasonal dish so get it while you can. Normally, mussels sauce are light and minimal flavor but not this tomato based sauce. There’s a citrus and spicy taste, very good!
B: Tuffle mac and cheese — I’ve been eating way too many of these throughout the year, this one is okay
A: Scallop — Unsalted, fresh, delicious
B: Pork Skewers — very tender but they over did it with the sauce so it was too sweet
A: Fries with an egg — you don’t need ketchup! yums!

They changed the Happy Hour so they don’t have the $ 5 small plates anymore, it’s $ 7 now. During regular hours, it’s $ 24 for 3 small plates excluding some options such as the hangar steak — $ 10 for 4 pieces. Regardless, still one of my favorites around the USC area.

I’ve heard great things about Bacaro LA’s brunch menu and decided to check it out for dinner on a Saturday evening. I called in to make a reservation in advance and was told I didn’t need one and shouldn’t have any problems getting a table for two. They share a fairly small parking lot with a few other businesses so you may have to find street parking. The interior in pretty small and provides an intimate setting. The lights are dim and many of the table settings are for two people.
When looking for something to drink all we had to do was look up at the walls where the drink menu was written in chalk. They had a few beers and wines to choose from. I went with the house red. Speaking of wine, the entire ceiling is made of rows of empty wine bottles which looked pretty
cool.
We were told that the dishes were best for sharing as they were small plates. My friend and I decided to share the baguette that’s served with a fruit compote and goat cheese. The bread was a bit tough and not as warm as I would have liked but the cheese, bread and fruit combo is always solid.
For my main dish I had the hanger steak which is served with a thin layer of sauce and pieces of zucchini. They weren’t joking about the size of the dishes. The plate was pretty small but fortunately I wasn’t incredibly hungry and the meal was just enough for me. The steak was a bit dry but I liked the sauce and zucchini combo. The dish was tasty and ok overall.
For dessert we shared the bread pudding. It was soaked in a ton of melting ice cream and I wondered if the ice cream would drown out the flavor of the bread pudding but it was surprisingly still warm and full of flavor. This was probably my favorite dish of the night.
Our servers were always polite and food arrived quickly. We were helped by different servers who immediately attended to us even though we weren’t their table. However I wasn’t blown away by the food and their portions. nOur meal was satisfactory and I didn’t dislike anything, I just didn’t find it particularly noteworthy. I am curious about their brunch thought and might consider a return trip for that.

You might think this is a 4 but hear me out first.
When you think of tapas you have to think Barcelona and this place definitely has that hole in the wall dark little homey feel. However — the noise level when you take this and transplant it to LA is wild. I literally couldn’t hear myself yelling my order. Somewhere between a lawn mower and a rock concert.
However, I maintain the ambiance as a positive and the food was pretty solid. A little overpriced compared to Spain (again — with the euro being over the dollar how is this possible?) but still good. They also offer an open bar for 20 $ a person which could be a good option for all you drinkers out there. I found for $ 14 the large carafe of sangria was a good compromise for a couples outing.
Last point — you wanna plan this ahead on the weekends. The space is small so it fills up fast. Reservations seem to be a must.
Good luck with communication — just stick with drinks and food and absorb all that ‘ambiance’

I really like this place! It’s close to Downtown LA. The ambience is loud, casual, and dark inside. They serve small plates (tapas), wine, and beer.

~Glazed Pork Belly Skewers — it was a little sweet and juicy.
~Pizza: Bacon and Brie — it has tomato sauce and jalapeño. What a good combination.
~Mac and Cheese — so good with bacon ($ 1 extra). It has crispy panko, white Truffle oil, and cheese fondue.
~Tal’s Tower Skewered — small shrimps with stuffed mushrooms. It came with two slices of baguette.
~Oven Roasted Bone Marrow — so buttery and good.
~Bacaro Fries — roasted garlic, pepper sauce, lemon, and fried egg. Perfectly cooked and crisp.
~Bacaro Burger (open faced) — tomatoes, onions, and Worcestershire aioli. For $ 1 more, they can add a fried egg.
My least favorite dishes are:
~Bowl of Clams — it has white wine, lemon, tomato, jalapeño, sweet plugra, and it came with toasted baguette. It was salty for me.
~Osso Buco (Seasonal) — slow braised pork shank which I thought was a little dry and peppery.
~Grilled Hanger Steak — it was tender with a light flavor. Came with grilled zucchini.
~Grilled Chicken Breast — it has capers, jalapeño, and a lemon flavor.
~Chorizo Pizza — jalapeño, cilantro, queso fresco, and salsa.
:Dessert:
We tried all of it! I liked the Bacaro Ice Cream which is vanilla bean with walnuts and clover honey.
The rest was just average:
~Nutella Panino — it has strawberries or bananas ($ 1 for both). The bread it came with was too soggy.
~Bread Pudding — I was hoping it would be good but I thought it was «ok». I liked the vanilla bean ice cream that it came with.
~Brown Butter Cookie Dough — served in three small square serving bowls. One has bananas, second, candied walnuts (a little spicy), and the last one has whipped cream.
~Malabi — pistachio, hibiscus flower syrup, rosewater custard, and shaved coconut. It tasted like lotion to me.

Been meaning to try Bacaro for awhile now since I’ve heard good things so I was really excited to see them on Groupon! I picked up a deal for AYCD and 8 tapas for 4 people and had a great experience. I was worried that it wouldn’t be enough food since everything is in small portions for sharing, but I think the AYCD filled us up so the amount of food was perfect.
Bacaro has about 30 – 40 different tapas to choose from, including cold and hot dishes, mini pizzas, and dessert. If you’re thinking these tapas only make up the appetizer portion of their menu, think again. That’s all they have! We had no idea which tapas to choose so we picked randomly and had our server recommend a few to us as well. The memorable ones were the bacaro burger, the hangar steak, the fries, and the mac and cheese. I would pass on the Tal’s Tower since it’s mainly just bread and the shrimp included were pathetically small. I would also pass on the pork belly skewers since it was too sweet and fatty for my taste. I mean I know it’s pork belly, but some pieces were seriously all fat.
The groupon made this meal extremely worth it since normally AYCD is $ 20/​person and each tapas is $ 8 (or 3 for $ 21). Btw, the AYCD includes only their Bacaro beer, champagne, sangria, and wine for 90 minutes. If you’re worried you won’t get the most out of your AYCD because you have to wait for your server, I recommend sitting at the bar. That’s what we did and our server was on top of it!
If you have a party of 6 or more, be sure to make reservations. This place gets packed since it’s right by USC. Parking can be a pain since it’s only street. Overall, I had a great time at Bacaro and would return, but I would probably try to go for happy hour when everything is a bit cheaper.

Everything was bland — decent nothing was good. And while the unlimited drinks for an hour for $ 15 is good the food is very lacking. And parking is too hard to find.

4 stars for the food, 3 stars for the ambience. It was Way too loud!!! In the end I had to shout and left with a sore throat after dinner. It was like been to a club. I don’t understand why it was so loud inside, maybe a lot of the crazy kids nearby coming for celebration.
But food was good. We came during the DineLA time. It was great they had the 1.5 hour unlimited drinks. So we had a lot of sangria. We ordered several dishes to share.
The cheese plate, a big plate and many varieties of cheese and cured meat.
I really like the polenta with eggplant. Crispy polenta was very tasty and went great with the eggplant sauce. It was pretty full after 4 sticks.
The cauliflower, it was not that memorable. Didn’t remember the taste.
The burger was pretty big, and tasty. Well, the runny egg makes everything better. I don’t eat meat, so I will not be able to comment on burger any more.
The dessert was not that memorable either. Can’t remember how it tasted.
Probably because it was too loud inside, the experience wasn’t that great. But I like their menu, and lots of options for vegetarians.
