Since the last time I was there, they’ve added a deli counter — must recommend the amazingly seasoned stuffed cabbage — stuffed with ground beef and rice (it’s kind of a meat-lover’s stuffed cabbage, really) — something like $ 8/​lb.

Wonderful, cooperative folks run this place. The freshly cooked food counter has the best selection in the city! And if they happen to have some pastry, your day is set! The crème puffs are perfect. I highly suggest the marinated mushrooms and the Israeli salad. They really don’t do greasy food so the salads taste like the vegetable, not oil!
