Our traditional dishes are rooted in the soil of Bengal and Northern India and they are prepared in our restaurant as they would be in our own homes. Indian cuisine is a combination of many subtle tastes. Flavours are as varied as is the climate of India, and as exotic as the people of India. Each dish will have its own distinctive flavour and aroma which cannot come from any curry powder, but from spices which have to be separately prepared each day fresh for each individual dish. The blending and preparation of spices is a centuries-old craft and indispensable to Indian cuisine.
History
Established in 1986.
One of the first Indian restaurants to set up shop within the heart of Los Angeles, Anarkali has garnered high acclaim for its menu of diverse curry dishes that are a perfect blend of Northern Indian and Bengali influences. Anarkali has become a favorite of local Angelenos since its early days on Melrose. The Choudhury family has owned and operated Anarkali for over 30 years proudly serving the greater Los Angeles area.
