Still a great experience. I was in and out in 15 minutes tops. The $ 20 Unilocal discount was honored for the 3^rd time and I was still walked through the process of getting my registration expedited.

So friendly and helpful. We joked. We chatted and I was out in 20 mins with my emissions test and a hearty «welcome to California». If I could give 6 stars I would.

Jack at AC Muffler is as good as they get. He is trustworthy, honest, friendly and takes great pride in his work. I went in to have a Catclamp installed (anti-​theft device for cat converter), but it didn’t fit. So Jack and I came up with a plan to build our own clamp. It was a pleasure to see him at work as he welded and sculpted the steel. I’ve included a pics of his handy work and will definitely be back for any other automotive needs.

Again, I got my DMV smog check notice and again I took my car in to AC Muffler. My parents urged me to get an oil change before getting my car checked, but my registration deadline was fast approaching. I called AC Muffler in advance, but Jack told me that no appointment was necessary for a smog test. I went in on a Friday, early afternoon. I was half-​worried that I might not pass. Jack asked me if the Check Engine light was on? No. «You’ll pass,» he assured. And I did! Jack had me in and out in 15 minutes. I asked him if he still offered the Unilocal discount, but he said he had discontinued that. Still he was able to knock a few off the $ 58 fee, for which I was so grateful. I offered to tip him, but he smiled and declined. Thank you Jack for your unchanged kindness and generosity!

Once again, Jack saves the day!!! My engine overheated the night before and luckily when I pulled in my driveway. It was late so I thought I would have AAA tow me to Jack in the morning. The next morning I called and it was going to be a 2hr wait. So I called Jack and explained my situation. He talked me through what to do to get it to him. His business is about ½ a mile from me. He looked and saw one of my radiator hoses was cracked. He replaced it and sent me on my way! It’s so great to know you have someone you can trust and depend on. Jack is the best! Thank You =)

This place is the worst. I stopped in to see if they could help me with a small exhaust leak onmy car so I could get it registered. I stood around for a good five to ten minutes while three guys were standing around a car looking at it before acknowledging I was there. I was then rudely asked what I needed, and I replied are you guys too busy to talk right now. The employee answered in the rudest and most sarcastic way possible stating «no you know I’m just playing around here over here» I then replied that I wanted to have somebody look at my car. He replied rudely again oh maybe I can look at it in 45 to an hour. No thanks. I’ll go somewhere else where the employees aren’t going to take out their bad day/​crappy life in me for stopping in. I suggest you do the same.

I went to AC muffler because I had my catalyst converter stolen from underneath my car and this was the closest muffler shop to my house. I couldn’t be more happy that I did. Jack helped me out and was absolutely wonderful. He made the recommendation that i contact my insurance company and claim insurance on it since it’s such an expensive part so I did just that. Once my insurance company checked out my car and approved it, Jack had the new part installed immediately and my car was ready to go within a few hours. It was so great!
On top of that, Jack recommended that i buy a Cat Clamp on Amazon to prevent future theft incidents. So I did, and had him install this as well. He had this done within a few hours as well.
Jack was friendly, knowledgable and was quick to get get my car back to me, which was great! I’ll definitely come back for all my car needs.

So the AC in my car was blowing hot air and I had been putting off getting it fixed for a while now. I finally hopped on Unilocal to check out the different AC repair shops in the area and after visiting a few I decided to go with AC Muffler. Jack was very up front about the price (which after visiting the other shops was very reasonable) to check out what the problem might be. About an hour after I left the car with him he gave me a call and said it was fixed! When I picked up my car he let me know that everything was fine and it just needed a fresh charge of freon. He also added that sometimes the rubber in the valves will dry up and start to leak. He threw on some new ones without charging me! Jack is very honest and I would definitely recommend this shop.

Labor in here is pricey $$$ but I had no choice but to come here since it is near my home. The boss is not much a people person, so I didn’t really feel welcome. I wouldn’t come here again just because they charge an arm and a leg. But overall they get the job done. I will say it is a convenient place because they have everything smog testing, muffler shop and auto repair I think they also align cars.

Did not inform me of the $ 25 additional charge for car registration renewal. (Sign of fee is on the back wall to the left, but totally not noticeable.) Then, billed the credit card 3% on top of that. Probably would have still have paid that much for the convenience but should have been told. Was deceitful. I will not go back.

Stopped in for a smog check appt. and Jack fit me in right away. In and out in 20 minutes. Fair pricing — although I definitely did not get the $ 38 Unilocal special other reviewers mentioned, so maybe ask about that.

Great for quick smog check AND handling registration renewal on the spot. Really friendly and informative on estimates and processes. First time here, already have a go-​to mechanic (who doesn’t do smog test), glad to have a backup!

Jack is great!
Recently I had my catalytic converter stolen. My insurance company sent me to another shop for the replacement, but I went to AC Muffler to install something called a Cat Clamp. Its an anti theft brace that goes around your catalytic converter. Jack installed it quickly and at a good price. Even going the extra mile and welding the brace closed to make it more secure. Great service! Highly Recommended.

I was passing by and saw an instant vehicle registration location. I got confused but my registration was due so I decided to check it out and it was actually an independent DMV location which got me through of all my registration needs. Thank you!

I took my car in today with a muffler problem and they fixed it within a few hours for real cheap. Super nice, really good service. Would recommend them for sure!

When all others were closed during the day of rain LA saw — these guys were open! Got my headlight and smog check done with no appointment or call ahead in about 20 minutes for a good price.
