Horrible. Heartless senseless piece of s***… He was delaying our services so we decided to go to another funeral home services in order to expedite the services. Mr. Boyadjian kept lying and finding excuses for the delay. When we went to transfer my uncles body this was his response «you can take „IT“ and I’ll give you two more coffin as a gift». What a jerk. I don’t wish that to his family all I can say God heard him and hope he gets his deserved punishment.

During a time of grief you would think businesses would be more understanding and compassionate toward their clients Unfortunately these people are all about business and not service or humanity.
I would never go to them for funeral services they made the process of grieving very difficult and it just made un unpleasant experience even more unnerving.
Avoid these people at all costs, they make false promises and do not want to work with the family.

The funeral director, Melissa has a horrible attitude, lacks professionalism and compassion. I called to ask a question and she was completely rude especially for a person who is supposed to be someone to help with dealing with a loved one’s death. Spend your money elsewhere! I hope the owner of this company re-​evaluates who runs their company, or hire a polite receptionist who can answer questions, minus the negative attitude.

I call abbot and hast from the hospital. I get the information that I wanted and then I’m promised an email in the morning which would outline everything we spoke about the next morning came and I check my email throughout the morning up until around 11 or 12 and i call and am told that she had forgotten to send the email that she do it right away while I waited another several hours nothing I called the office back and was told by a somewhat snotty short tempered receptionist that the woman I want to speak with was busy and I said well she needs to be busy with what I asked her about I’ve got a friend waiting at the hospital to be taken to mortuary. To try to make a long story short I then asked to speak to somebody else which I was given contact with a man named Jack who promised me that he would email me in the morning and you can imagine how that went so I found a very nice mortuary in Pasadena and Good excellent service and yeah I paid a little more but you know what, I knew that everything was going to be done right by the pros I had decided to go with
Shame on those people!

I was informed my mother passed after 8 weeks of her being deceased. I had no idea what to do as I’ve never had to organize/​plan these type of services before. I called and spoke to the funeral director and then scheduled a meeting to go over everything. The funeral director (I cannot remember her name) was phenomenal. She went over everything with me and in the end I was able to decide on cremation services with a beautiful urn. I truly appreciate the care, compassion, and concern I was given. This was truly upsetting to me and to have someone who cared so much in helping me get everything together was truly a relief. I totally recommend them if you ever lose someone dear to your heart.

My uncle recently passed, he was childless, elderly, very sick and absolutely poor. My extended family all live on the east coast and the people closest to him were my mother and myself. My mother and I were totally devastated by his loss. We were really worried about how to handle my uncle’s affairs and give him the dignity he deserved, but really could not afford.
Abbott and Hast is right down the street from the apartment my uncle occupied for the last forty years. Having passed by it so frequently when visiting my uncle, it was the very first place I thought of to contact for his cremation, which was his request for his remains.
Melyssa, the funeral director, was not only excellent but also genuine; a quality lacking in most people these days. She made us feel that our loved one was being treated with respect, a monolith of weight off mine and my mother’s shoulders. Since my uncle was a bit of a shut in, he didn’t have many friends, a funeral service wasn’t necessary. However, Melyssa was able to arrange a viewing for us and the few people in his life who were going to miss him. I have to admit that it really was helpful to the grieving process, to have that opportunity to say goodbye. His ashes were sent back to the east coast to the rest of the family, yet another concern Melyssa was able to resolve for us. By the way, looking up ways to ship remains seems to leave one’s head spinning. All of this, and the peace of mind that our loved one was being cared for by good people was not only one of the most excellent customer experiences I’ve ever had, but also was affordable! The small amount of money left by my uncle was able to cover everything! Thank you for taking the time to read this, perhaps you are in a similar situation, and amongst all the grief and sadness you are trying to take care of your passed loved one, I can tell you without hesitation that Abbott and Hast are the best, and they are affordable.

Very helpful and professional organization. Abbott and Hast Mortuary created a safe and comforting environment for our family during our time of need. They also saved us a tremendous amount of money versus Forest Lawn’s service quote. I highly recommend them and will certainly call upon them again for their services.

I love this mortuary. My brother had no funds no anything when he passed away. Adrian was extremely helpful, sensitive, supportive and helped me ease every step of the way. I highly recommend for those of us who get pushed around by greedy mortuary’s. My mom passed away just a month before my brother, we thought we had to go with where she bought her plot, the personnel was rude demanding and egotistical. They wanted all cash up front would not budge and cut us a break, the entire other side of the family is buried there I can say I will say it Loma Vista in Fullerton. Ugh glad to be rid of them. However, it made me grateful for Abbott and Hast– was not for them I dont know how I would have made it through of my one an only brother younger than I. my father passed away the beginning of this year unexpectedly, had to make arrangements for his cremation. I called a few funeral homes around LA for options in regards to pricing for a «simple» cremation. Its a hard thing to do especially on a small budget, during the difficult time. Also they all want you to come in the funeral home so you feel obligated to use their services, rather then give you pricing over the phone, quite frankly i didn’t want to leave my house for the first month, let alone try to troll around from mortuary to mortuary & find the best fit. I wasn’t financially inclined to give him a «traditional» chinese burial, considering costs for a burying a body these days run anywhere from $ 2000 & up minimum & that’s not including land. WTF?
Anyhow, i called Abbott and hast mortuary in silverlake, I spoke to melissa, who was straight up, to the point with no up selling, no BS. Very Very helpful, easy to deal with & affordable. Plus, she was able to EMAIL me forms! Where as even larger mortuaries are still unable to do that. There was no song & dance to try to take advantage of people in crisis. The funeral home itself is a bit small, but ideal for intimate situations & easy to access. She handled everything for me flawlessly, exceptional customer service & follow through, even when I had to make corrections to the death certificate 2 months after she was more then happy to assist.
I felt like a valued patron, even though I only spent about $ 800. I wish we wouldn’t have to deal with things like this, but if your looking for an affordable, excellent service oriented and straight forward mortuary I definitely would recommend and/​or use their services again.

I can’t say I’m a fan of a mortuary, but the director I met was pleasant and amiable without that ghoulish palour. He was helpful, too.
