Went into this store since I live in the area. Decided to just look around since I’ve just recently moved in. I like the area– koreatown has a little shady reputation, but I find it charming. Asked an old guy(probably the owner since the only employee), «Are you still open?» He said, «Yes! Of course.» Patted me on the back. Smiled. So far so good. First, it’s not a 98 cent only store. A lot of things cost more than $ 1.00– like $ 10, and $ 20. Just keep that in mind. The prices aren’t even written down any where which suggests the place is probably run by price discrimination(whatever he feels like). Decided not to get anything, because everything is just in horrible condition. Inventory is just scattered on the ground. As I was leaving he noticed I didn’t buy anything. So he growled at me! First time that’s happened to me. He growled, scowled, mumbled something underneath his lips, «You! You… mumble mumble» and as I went to the crosswalk(about 2 blocks down), I could hear him shout at me: «You never come back again!» o_O That was weird! I swear I didn’t do anything to provoke such a weird hostile response. I wonder if he’s racist towards Latino-Americans. I swear he chose the wrong city to do business in if he’s racist against Latinos– more Latino-Americans in koreatown then there are Koreans/Korean-Americans in Koreatown.

A «Keys Made Here» sign anchors the sidewalk just outside this store. Inside there are goodies all guaranteed to be made in China. But what is great here is that keys are made for $ 1. Yup, the dollar menu now includes keys.
