I have stubborn wavy hair that has its moods, and there are very few people I trust to cut my hair. A few years ago, I was looking for someone to give some personality to my tired, frizzy tresses, and a coworker recommended Vanessa. She is fabulous — she really listens to what I want and makes great recommendations to improve upon what I have in mind. I trust her completely, and I am so thankful to have found her! I no longer suffer the pre-​haircut anxiety I once did, thanks to Vanessa (and Sirena Scena).

My five year old daughter asked me to grow my hair long, and Vanessa had the cut. She’s a joy to talk to, and so nice.

A wonderful cut from Vanessa again. Plus she’s got stellar restaurant recommendations! While doing my hair we talk about the new eateries in town and she’s got the dish! She told us about Opa! in Los Altos, their gyro pitas bend my mind.

Thanks to my friend Michelle, she not only hooked me up with Nancy for waxing and facials, but she also referred Albertine to me as well.
My old wax lady was rough, condescending and flat out rude, I just had to find someone new after years of abuse. Nancy is the complete opposite. Warm, friendly and skilled! She also has a fabulous blog with tons of helpful hints for busy women.
Next it was my hair. After working with the same gal for nearly 2 years and not ever getting the right cut or color, I just had to switch it up. From my first visit with Albertine, I knew I was in the right place. She really listened to me and I really listened to her suggestions. Finally a great match! Albertine is a master designer, as well as chemist (she has her own product line that makes my hair feel wonderful w/​o any icky stuff), as well as professional and a really neat lady.
And I can’t forget to mention Vanessa! She is a doll. Always professional, friendly and just a joy to deal with.
I look forward to years of service and style at the Sirena Scena Salon.

I give 5 ***** for the relaxing shampoo with my feel up on a footstool alone, but it’s so much more. It’s a calm relaxing place where I’ve been going to get my hair cut and colored for over a year. Vanessa asks what I need and want and then does her magic. I recommend you try it if you are not being treated like a princess at your salon.

I decided to try this salon after reading all the great reviews about Albertine and her ability to cut curly hair. I didn’t have a problem with my current stylist but was bored after several years with the same person.
I made my appointment for the middle of a work day (which I don’t normally do) because I was desperate to get it cut. The website indicates to allow yourself 45 minutes for a haircut/​blow dry or 30 minutes for an express cut.
My appointment was at 3:30 and I knew I needed to leave by 4:30 in order to get back to work to finish up some stuff. But that’s an hour, so it should’ve been enough time for a haircut & blow dry. But as the minutes were ticking away while I was waiting for Albertine to finish another customer, I realized that she was not going to have time to blow my hair straight which is what I wanted. So she started me 15 minutes late and sure enough she was not able to blow my hair straight.
I thought it was a good haircut, but nothing I hadn’t had before. Granted, I didn’t go in there saying I wanted something different, but I didn’t come out of there saying «that was the best haircut I’ve ever had» (because it wasn’t. So when I checked out she charged me $ 60 for an «express cut» but her website clearly says that express cuts are $ 50-​$ 55. And my receipt says haircut/​blowdry. When I asked the difference between an express haircut and a regular haircut she said «blow dry» and that would be $ 15 more. So it would’ve been $ 75. My current person charges $ 50 for a haircut which includes a blow dry.
If I thought the haircut was AWESOME, I would be willing to pay more. But to pay $ 25 more for the same thing doesn’t make sense to me.
On the plus side, I think she’s a very nice lady, I think she’s very knowledge and had some good ideas about drying & styling my hair (for me to try), and I thought the salon was really pretty too.
But because of the pricing, I doubt that I will be back.

I love, love, LOVE this place. I was looking for a new salon because I had recently moved and my previous hair stylist was too far away. A close friend of mine recommended Vanessa and from the first time I walked in I have been the happiest client ever! Not only are their prices great but the service they have you just don’t see anymore. They ask you all the right questions to find the best cut for you (taking in to account what you will actually do to it at home) I will be a client here forever!

I have been a patron of Sirena Scena since it first opened almost two years ago. Albertine is truly a hair styling master, not to mention a complete sweetheart! She really takes the time to talk to you about what you want with your color and cut, and also thinks about what will work with your face shape, eye color and skin tone.
I have also recently started working with the other hair stylist Vanessa. She is such a sweetheart as well, and really takes the times to see what you want and what will make you happy. I actually had an appointment with her today and had her drastically change the shape of my hair. She was VERY concerned about making me happy with my new bangs; even though i knew she had another client waiting, she really made me feel like I was the only person in the world. Plus she’s a blast to talk to :)
On top of everything Sirena Scena has their own line of hair and body products that are simply AMAZING. I wouldn’t even consider going back to using any other products at this point.
If you are interested in a relaxed environment where you can receive true talent working on your hair, without pretentiousness, then this is the place for you.

I love this place. It is small and very close to home. 2 stylists makes it cozy, and friendly. I have my hair cut there, and just had a facial. Moderately priced. Own product line that is not so chocked full of chemicals.
