More Beer, More Wine

Came here to swap out a CO2 tank but I had a new one without a «sticker» that delineates that the gas contained is C02 and non-​flammable. **WARNING** To new kegerator owners and/​or homebrewers: NO SWAPS WILL BE DONE WITHOUT THIS STICKER!
I had to buy a new tank with the assurance that I could return the tank and swap the new tank once I had the sticker applied.

Well organized, clean and professional.
Saw «Alli D.‘s» response, and could understand what they were complaining about.
As a first timer, I walked in and bought all my goods on credit card.
No membership or personal info needed nor required.
Sure you went to right place?
Staff has a broad knowledge of other fermented its too, like wine, kombucha and cheese.
And have no problem helping you work through technical issues.
Would have given 5 stars, but didn’t want it swell the ego and always leaves room for growth.

Is it legal to deny someone a purchase unless they join your member club? To my understanding, yes, you can be a «cash only» franchise to opt out of credit card fees but to say you will not accept a credit card UNLESS you give your personal information (I.e name, number, email) seems not only illegal but definitely poor customer service on their part. Is it logical to turn away money based on that «requirement»? Lol
You lost out on a frequent customer who is willing to spend the money on your products.
Sad decisions and a loss of profit.
TIP: if you are a person like my dad who doesn’t like to give out that information to anyone, carry enough cash to cover your purchase.

Doesn’t look fancy at all from the outside and parking isn’t great, but very well stocked with brewing supplies store vs other brewing shops I’ve visited. Depending who you talk to in the store, they can be very very helpful.

I was thrilled to discover this place over the weekend. I’m a first time brewer trying my hand at cider. The place has what seems to be an amazing selection of DIY brewing supplies, from tubing and hydrometers to barley.
The staff was extremely friendly and encouraging, especially for a newbie like me. They helped me select a yeast for the flavor qualities I was looking for. They also gave me a few pointers on the fermentation process, and answered several questions I had. I was also impressed with how inexpensive the (fairly specialized) supplies were.
I will certainly be a regular at this place.

They have good, fresh ingredients. Parking can be tricky on the weekends, and it’s a reasonably popular, but small place, so the staff can get temporarily swamped depending on your timing. They are friendly, helpful with advice, have a good selection of hardware and accouterments, and the prices are reasonable. I’ll keep coming back.

Very nice well put together brew store, my Dad just started home brewing as a hobby and I must say he was satisfied and happy with the location and service. The staff was very friendly and informative and helped us choose great starter kits, flavors, and lids. Awesome selection whether u brew beer or wine.

These guys helped me get my kegerator rolling. They had every little part I needed. Great service with great staff. I called to ask a question and the owner knew my question had nothing to do with potential profits, but still took the time to help me. This will be my go-​to spot for kegging for now on.

I’d give them 5 stars just for being an awesome supply store. And then there’s another 5 stars for the brewing advice that the employees offer. As an amateur, I had lots of questions. The bearded guy helped me twice, and both times he was patient, professional, pleasant, thorough, and never made me feel stupid for asking basic questions. The entire staff was happy to give me some time after closing to finish up my shopping. And they have paperless receipts. Stars all around.

These guys are fantastic. Very helpful and tons of supplies on hand. They can start you off from scratch or advise you on making you setup more reliable. Beer has become one of my alltime favorite hobbies.

This is THE brewing store in the Bay Area. When our beer brewing hero is in the mood for boiling up a batch of stout or porter, this is his default place he hits up for supplies. It’s everything you need under one roof at really good prices. They even have winemaking supplies here too.
PROS:

— They even have lots of recipes on hand if you show up and haven’t decided what you’re brewing yet.
CONS:
— It’s not very well organized and they’re sometimes out of a lot of the more popular hops (I’m looking at you, Cascade).
— The parking definitely sucks, especially on weekends.

Disclosing up front that I know nothing about beer. I came to get a birthday present for a good friend who is a homebrewer. This looked like the best bet for serious supplies without going to the City, so off I went. There’s no parking on San Antonio, a wide, fast street, and I missed the entrance to the little parking lot, so I found parking on a side street. Impressively, cars actually stopped for me, and I escaped injury crossing back and forth on a crosswalk.
It’s a nice, big, clean store, well-​kept, no dust anywhere, and very well-​organized. The guys behind the register had tolerant little smiles at my ignorance, but there was no attitude, and they were so friendly and helpful. They picked out a kit for me, gamely tried to explain the ingredients, told me what he probably already had, and let me poke all around the store asking questions.
Our friend’s wife commented that she’d heard of the mix, and he seemed pleased. We knew it was a hit gift when we dropped by their house the next day to find him already working on it. Yay.

Homebrew store close to home in the south bay! First some background — I come from San Diego, the biggest craft beer city in California.
I didn’t expect to find a better homebrew store outside of San Diego. Somehow MoreFlavor surpasses my expectations with greater quantity and price for their supplies. it’s always amazing to find something in the Bay Area that is more affordable than San Diego, where generally rent and the cost of living is lower.
All variety of grains? Check. Any type of gadget you might need for brewing? It’s there. Fresh yeast at affordable prices? Yep. Plus, you can save shipping time and also get free advice from the salespeople who are also brewers themselves.

They helped me buy a home brew system. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. Not too opinionated, they guy who helped me just wanted me to get the best system for ME.
Also they let me swap out the brew kit from the Blonde ale to something that I prefer. This was not an option on the more beer website or on the phone.

In terms of getting your beer making supplies, this place is great. They pretty much will have everything you will need for amateurs to pros. The prices are fair in comparison to the home brew market.
The only issue I have here is the workers you will meet here are very hit or miss on how welcome they make you feel. Some workers will ask if they can help you and give you great recommendations on what you should get while others will ask you «what do you need?» in a tone where it sounds like they want you out as soon as possible right when walking in.
I’ll keep coming back but I’ll do so hoping that I come when the nicer employees are there.

Best place to pick up anything you need for beer making. Nice friendly people out there, always helpful. And they have occasional classes/​demos on how to make beer, kegging etc…

This is the best place to get home beer making supplies in the Bay Area. They have all the hardware you could ever want and need, anything short of a commercial setup. As far as malts are concerned, unless you’re looking for something completely obscure, MoreFlavor (or, MoreBeer, as it’s also known) has you covered. There’s a great selection of White Labs yeast, my preferred brand, although there are good choices from Wyeast as well. The only thing I’m not as happy about is the choice of hops. It seems they only carry pellet hopes, which is not a great choice when wanting to dry hop. It would be nice if they had whole leaf options. Additionally, there are some fairly common varietals that they don’t carry. So, I have to order those online, as needed.
This is definitely the place to go if you want to get started, as they have a large number of kits that make beer making a snap.
Customer service is friendly and helpful. Everyone there is always eager and capable of answering your homebrew questions.

I’m new to home brewing. The staff was very helpful in answering my questions.
This store is very well stocked with brew kits as well as raw ingredients and equipment to brew the brew!
I did noticed that everything was kinda pricey, but the quality was superb compared to 1 of the 2 South Bay locations.
This location is a drive, but I will return possibly for raw ingredients of nic-​nacs.
Parking suck… park with caution!
