I was having great pain in my lower jaw and having moved and not established a new dentist, I was worried about finding a good one to help with the problem. I asked my sister-​in-​law who she would recommend, and then I looked at Unilocal and saw that Dr. McBirney had a great rating so I took a chance. I’m glad I did. The offices are quiet, nicely placed in the center of Los Altos Downtown. The girls whom the doctor has hired to work for him are very efficient and kind. The doctor is fast and kind and knowledgeable. From start to finish it was a very professional experience and I believe Dr. John McBirney will become my new local dentist now that I live in the Bay Area. He’s even worth driving a few miles to get his help.

Dr. McBirney and his staff are excellent. Judy — one of his dental hygienists — is very thorough and has a very gentle hand. I have been seeing Dr. McBirney and Judy for several years, and I am thoroughly satisfied with the service I have received.

I went to Dr. McBirney for a year after being fed up with the dentists I found through my insurance company and 1800Dentist. He is a great doctor, very competent and knowledgeable. He has the latest equipment. His office is very clean and his staff is very friendly. The only downside, he doesn’t take insurance, so you always have to pay out of pocket first and then wait to get reimbursed. The rates he charges are about 25%-50% higher than what most insurance company consider reasonable. Thus when you get the reimbursement, it’s only about half of what you paid. Nevertheless, he is a great dentist.
