The Original Grind

I love this place. I have 3 kids under 5 so I rarely want to go in to pick up coffee any morning. drive thru’s are the way to go for me. I’m tired of Starbucks and their over priced drinks, and their lame food options. This place is great! All kinds of specialty coffees, and yummy eats. They even have nicks there if you don’t want to get out to get them at their actual location. I come almost everyday now! I totally recommend. Friendly service also!

Can I say once again amazing! The couple hat o be the joint are so sweet. They higher a lot of young people which is nice. Hard for college kids to get jobs now a days. The drinks are amazing and a lot better for you than Starbucks. This is a daily treat!

Love this place so much. Just started coming here 2 weeks ago and haven’t been to a Starbucks since. Their coffee in my opinion is way better than a big chain and for a better price. All the fun flavor selections are delicious and they support other small business around them by selling their bagels and breakfast burritos etc. Friendliest workers and the drive through is beyond convenient. Just participated in a game of pay it forward where someone bought my drink and I got the next persons! So fun.

I love this little spot! So convenient and always on point. They are always friendly and offer great prices and quality, they even offer a 20% military discount which I really appreciate. I definitely recommend!

Great staff, excellent service and friendly atmosphere if you step inside! This shop reminds me of an old-​school, pre-​hipster original coffee shop. The server played with some ingredients to make a custom drink for me, and that was awesome! I love good customer service!

Well, I went back the next day after my original review was written and asked for their large Joyride.
All I can say is that this Hazelnut, Caramel, and Chocolate sex in a cup hit it out of the park. I was a little concerned since that it was a large drink and the contents didn’t seem to end. That bad boy lasted me until 12 in the afternoon. (That’s due to my work– I worked in the ER at that point and went in and out of the break room getting my caffeine on)
The Joyride is by far my favorite– it’s so chocolatey!!!
Excellent drink and it goes well with a plain bagel with cream cheese!!!

before Starbucks littered every corner on earth, there was «The Original Grind». The first gourmet coffee drive thru ever, and holds the crown in my heart for best coffee ever. Ever-​friendly, always-​smiling staff are there to greet you into the morning with their unbeatable speedy customer service. They even walk out to waiting patrons in the drive-​thru and take orders when busy so that your order is fresh & ready when you drive up to the cashier. I love all my gourmet coffee crew, you guys kick «morning drudge» in the arse for me ! Quality (trust me, I’m a snob) coffee brewed and blended with love.

You know how when you’re younger, your mom tells you that coffee will stunt your growth if you drink it to early in life. Considering my mommy is a raging coffee-​holic, I understand why she’s so short now! Haha just kidding (she is short though). When you’re in 6^th or 7^th grade, and you wanna be cool, you get dropped off in front of school, wait for Grammy to leave, and then walk to the closest coffee shop and get back before the bell rings. That’s EXACTLY what my friends and I used to do in 6^th grade. woot woot Oak Middle School! Anyhow, this was my first coffee shop, and I am still a loyal and regular customer to this day. 6^th grade was in 2000 for me. Soo it’s been oooh.16 years? And I’m still coming back. Customer loyalty in the hizzouse! Keep in mind. This is not some offhand franchise of It’s a Grind or the Daily Grind or whatever. they’ve been around for about 20 years if not more, in the exact same spot.
This little coffee shop is off of Katella and Chestnut, across the alley from the Jiffy Lube. It really is a very small shop, with a drive thru and walk up window. The employees are super sweet and very friendly, even though I’ve seen many come and go. They do get pretty busy in the morning, I’ve stopped in before school or work many times, and when I plan on stopping here, I get up 25 minutes earlier just in case they’re really busy. The staff is super efficient and has never gotten a single order out of my thousands of them wrong. Thank goodness! When it’s super busy, ALL HANDS ON DECK! They not only send employees out to collect drink orders from patrons, they have 2 drive thru windows to accommodate their crowds. And if they come to you, your drink is always ready by the time you get to the window! Sooo cool. Oh, and no automated ordering screen, you order with your barista directly.
They offer many different drinks, I love love LOVE that they have almond milk, especially for iced Americanos. Chai tea latte is delish, and one of the best I’ve had. Sweet with a little spice. Mmm. their white chocolate mocha was my very first drink, and it’s still my regular when I need java. The employees do get to know your drinks if you’re a regular customer too, so if they do. tip more! It’s a small business, they work hard to please their customers. Honestly, I’ve tried it all. And guess what, it’s bombdiggity. You can’t go wrong with any of their coffee choices, I promise (^_​^)
The Original Grind is a small business and I shop small as often as possible. The owner and their crew is fantastic. They provide awesome customer service, fab morning java and teas, and it’s less expensive and far better tasting that Starbucks! No burnt after taste. Yummay! If you’re in the area and what a really good cup of coffee to finish your morning commute, or to keep you going through the day, check out The Original Grind. You’ll become a loyal customer too. Plus, they have punch cards.

This place is very convenient, there are 2 drive thrus and located right before the 605 entrance. Recommend the croissant breakfast sandwich. Love finding spots like this! Happy to not have to go to starbucks. The iced coffee could use some work but satisfied overall.

Great service, quality coffee, and conveniently located… it all keeps me coming back. Even though I’m here once a week, several of the regular workers are starting to get to know my usual drink which warrants upgraded tips ;-)
I’ve noticed when its busy at the drive-​through as well as walk-​in counter, its all hands on deck with this business. They have a great system that gets people through expeditiously. Couple that with friendly service and smiles all around, you have the secret to any successful business.

I love me a good local coffee spot!!!
This shop isn’t too close to where I live so I do not get to visit as much as I would like, but whenever I am in the area and in the mood for java I certainly stop here.
Everyone is extremely friendly, and they happen to also have two drive thru windows. Their drive thru isn’t set up where you order at a screen, but at the window and if there is a line of cars they make their way out of the shop and get your order so that it will be ready by the time you pull up to the window.
I’ve been ordering the chai tea latte, and it is heavenly. My bf is very fond of their regular
coffee as well, so we try and make our way over here on the weekends.

Great coffee and friendly service. I like my coffee black, so it needs to be flavorful and fresh, not some coffee flavored sugar milk. This place has the good stuff!
