Mathobotix

I have been bringing my 6 year old son to Mathobotix for 5 weeks. Our first experience with Mathobotix was attending a Saturday Open House. The Open House was a great way to see the facility, learn what Mathobotix has to offer, meet one of the mentors, and have all of my personal questions answered. At the Open House, my son was able to build robots with other children who were there, and it was so fun to see how well all of the kids built together even though they were different ages and some, like my son, were working with the Mindstorms products for the first time.
After the Open House, my son attend the Mathobotix trial class for $ 20. At this first lesson, my son was received instruction on different parts of a robot such as static parts and dynamic parts. He made a zero gravity car and drove it down a ramp, calculating the speed and distance of travel. He also made a top spinner. I was very impressed by the amount of material covered. Since I was not present at actual class, I appreciated the thorough explanation of what had occurred during the 2 hour period.
My son enjoyed his first two experiences at Mathobotix so much that we signed up for the 12 week program. He looks forward to Mathobotix each week, and often asks why we can’t go every day.
During the 12 weeks program, students complete 3 – 4 challenges. Upon completion of each challenge, students are asked a series of question about their challenge. Children are asked to type their answers into the computer, and also present their answers to the mentor and their parents.
The mentors are extremely knowledgeable, kind, positive, encouraging, and patient. My son’s mentor is Fady. My son is quite energetic and excited at Mathobotix. He asks a lot of questions and wants to know why he is doing what he is doing and how everything works. Fady is very patient with him, and very good at answering my son’s questions in an age appropriate manner. I really like that at my son’s time slot, there is a 2 to 1 ratio for students to mentor.
Shweta manages the Los Alamitos location. She is very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. She has always been able to answer all of my questions about Mathobotix. She manages your enrollment paperwork, e-​mails you your receipt after paying, e-​mails pictures of your child (ren), and helps assist the mentor as needed.
In a world where our children are exposed to so much technology, I feel Mathobotix is able to provide them with an advanced education and computer progamming skills which I personally feel I am unable to teach my child.
I would highly recommend Mathobotix if your child likes, Legos, robots, math, and computers.

I have been brining my sons and their friends here for over two years. We have done both the robots and the programming classes. The curriculum is wonderful and the mentors are very helpful. Mathobotix is very receptive to the children’s needs and have kept my sons engaged.
As with most companies, there have been minor problems during this time. What I appreciate is their willingness to make it right.

My son has been attending this Mathobotix location for one month. He looks forward to his class and is excited to tell me all about what he built and what tasks he accomplished during his class. The staff is polite and very approachable. They have a variety of classes and class times to choose from. We are pleased with the programs, facility, and staff. My son can’t wait to attend his first «Build Night».

My son attends Mathobotix in Los Alamitos and he loves it. His mentor is Fady and he is so patient and friendly. My son loves him!
Their programs are differentiated and multi-​faceted, having the students go through many phases in order to get to build their projects: planning, designing, building, programming, testing, rethinking, and playing. At the end of the term, students provide an oral presentation of their projects. These were all selling points for me because Mathobotix is geared towards career-​ready goals, at such a young age.
Finally, each time I pick up my son, Fady gives me an update as to how my son is progressing and what the next session will entail. Mathobotix is definitely worth the investment and I plan to continue to renew my son’s enrollment.
