This is some of the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had, although it seems to be popular among the older white population. You’d definitely be better off getting your Chinese food at the mall. Blech! Never again!

delicious Chinese food! the staff is always courteous and the food is awesome! i always get the Kung Pao Chicken and my girlfriend always get the walnut shrimp dish. My buddies always get the chicken chow mein and orange chicken and rave about how good it is… make sure to stop into one of their locations if you want a great meal!

Horrible experience. Food is good, but you’re better off doing takeout unless you like plates coming out every 15 – 20 minutes apart. Also, they dropped off extra honey walnut shrimp and before we had time to tell the food runner that it wasn’t ours, he already ran off. The honey walnut shrimp sat there for 20 minutes and when we finally told them it wasn’t ours, the food runner just grabbed it and put it on another table. We got up and told the table that it sat at our table for a long time and recommended they ordered a new one(they thanked us and did so). So gross.

Meh! Just barely ok. Pipe stock for water. Egg flower soup pretty salty. Egg roll decent. Salad wilted. Beef schezwan not spicy and beef looked fake. Crispy Orange chicken not Crispy. This is the stuff I pray about after I eat.

We tried visiting last night. We arrived at 9:28 and they declined to seat us, saying it was takeout only. Their hours posted said they were open until 10pm, and there was another couple sitting inside. We had been there once before and it was good, but we are very disappointed that they didn’t want our business because it was 30 minutes until closing.

Food was so yummy! I had the cashew chicken with rice and daughter had low mein and lettuce wraps. She’s been here several times and today was a first for me. I would highly recommend their food and can’t wait to go back! Service was great!

My husband and I visited Fortune Cookies last night. I had the craving for Chinese food, and we have not been to this place in many, many years. The first time I came here, was about 6 years ago. I liked the food, but I was not crazy about the Customer Service. So years passed, and then last night, we tried again. I want to say that this place has really, really good food. Its suppose to be a healthier choice, too. That is why I give this place 4 stars. I could give it 3 stars, but the food is SO good. I cant give it 5 stars, because the service isn’t very friendly. So I stuck with 4 stars. IF you ARE a person who feels strongly about having friendly, social servers, you might want to order TOGO. The servers here are not very social, or friendly. Its super business like. Thats the only way I can describe it. Cold, and business like. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The girls at the front desk, bubbly and friendly. After that, it was all business. LOL. The restaurant is super cute inside. I love the décor. Some of the seating can be a bit tight. Like the tables for 2. It was busy last night, but not packed. So we got a seat for 4. A bit more roomy. The servers in this restaurant are very business like. They just take your order… drop it off, very business like… no nonsense. I love how fast they are. We orders Shrimp Fried Rice, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and Buddha Plate(vegetables). It came out in about 5 minutes. Everything was perfect. Really good food. The portions are a GOOD size. I think the prices are fair. At the end of our meal, they take your plates away, and will pack up any leftovers you have. They deliver your leftovers back to you, all packed up. Very businesslike. I would eat here again… I think the food is great!!! Like I mentioned before, if customer service is important to you, and you cant look the other way… order it TOGO. Or simply try another place. Give this place a try, see what you think!!!

The food is great and the portions are good considering they advertise being a healthy choice, I truly thought we were going to get ridiculously small portions and we were pleasantly surprised. My one and only complaint is that they are ALWAYS busy! It does not matter when you call, it can be 4 pm on a Tuesday night and they phone is always busy. It would be nice to be able to phone in an order and just pick it up when its ready but the line will ring busy for about 15 minutes on average before they pick up. I wish they would do something about that and we would have food from here more often. Their combination rice is great and so is their House Beef Steak is amazing. We’ve also ordered the Won ton Soup to go and it didn’t have enough broth for us.

There is one very rude and seemingly unhappy server woman, which I would have been fine to overlook, everyone has a bad day but seeing other reviews, I think they are speaking of this same person. Have loved this place for a long time but have been dissapointed. Are we the only ones who tasted cleaning chemicals in two of our dishes? I’m all for cleanliness but don’t skip the rinse cycle! Then a friend said she had the same experience a few months back. Bummed. We really loved this place.

Wow. I don’t know where to start. The food is 4 stars. My problem is that I have been ordering delivery from them the lasted couple years and in that time they delivered the wrong food at least 4 times I can remember and typically they send out new food immediately. Today is the 5th time they messed up my order. I called and they were going to take care of it. About 30 minutes later they left me a voice mail I missed. When I called back they began to interrogate me on what I received(I had no idea what is was, it was not shrimp) and began to question if I in fact got the wrong stuff. I COULDNOTBELIEVETHIS !!! Keep in mind this is 2 hours now since I ordered. What happened to customer service? They make the mistake but want to give me a hard time ! UNBELIEVABLE. THEYLOST A CUSTOMERANDFAN. BEWARE always check your deliver order. Don’t trust they will get it right.

Overview: Fortune Cookies Restaurant is a well run, casual, sit-down Chinese restaurant located on Los Alamitos Blvd in Los Alamitos next to a giant tire store. It serves a moderate variety of chicken, beef, and shrimp dishes at good prices. Its parking lot is quite small, but the restaurant itself is actually fairly large, sacrificing quite a bit of space for an outdoor Koi pond. The Food: I had both their Mongolian beef and their orange chicken lunch special and I very much enjoyed both, though if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t order the Mongolian beef due to my dislike of bamboo shoots. The orange chicken is flavorful without being overpowering and the beef was moderately tender. The beef portions were a little low for my liking but the orange chicken was just right. I had their brown rice, egg soup, and egg roll as well and loved all of them but if I could do it over, I’d get the fried rice instead of the brown rice. The pricing is just about perfect as well at ~$ 7 – 8 for lunch specials. The Establishment: With a view of the Koi pond, clean tables, well dressed waiters, and a decent amount of space, I couldn’t ask for more. The Service: Excellent. Water was refilled constantly, dishes were taken away promptly between courses, and the waiters were friendly and courteous. Conclusions: While I must admit that Fortune Cookies restaurant did not«wow» me in any way, it was above average in everything it attempted to do at a good price. Fortune Cookies gets 5-stars for overall value.

After my favorite Chinese Food Restaurant closed down, I went onto Unilocal and saw the great reviews and decided to try it myself. Although, the place gets packed quite fast, the atmosphere is still quite relaxing. The food is also reasonably priced and served family style(it’s cheaper than a lot of Chinese fast food places). My husband and I really like the House Fried Rice – it’s full of a variety of meats such as, chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp. This is a meal in itself. We also like their Broccoli Beef, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp. I am also a fan of their hot tea and their soups. This is my new favorite Chinese Restaurant!!!

Amazing service! My boyfriend took me here and I was a little skeptical but boy was I wrong. had the chicken fried rice and orange chicken and also honey walnut shrimp… the shrimp was my favorite. I’m not a big fan of walnuts but they were amazing with the shrimp… We started off having some egg soup which I actually enjoyed and the small salad was delicious with the dressing they had. Will be coming back!

After all the hype I’ve heard about this place, I have to say I was pretty disappointed. Given that I assumed that it would be more«Americanized» Chinese food versus authentic, the taste of the food itself was not on par. Service was mediocre. One of the servers spilled water all over my plate and the table and only came back replacing the plate and not wiping the table. Our food came with some salad and one egg roll which presentation was not their forte. The salad was a bit too watery and could barely taste the dressing on it. We opted to try the hot and sour soup and let me tell you. it is HARD to go wrong on this soup, but this was the worst tasting soup I’ve ever had. It had a weird«plastic» aftertaste, which I couldn’t describe. We didn’t end up only taking a bite since it tasted so weird. We ordered the kung pao chicken and requested the dish to be extra spicy, which it was not. Flavor-wise, the dish was okay. The next dish we had was their garlic shrimp which was average, the ginger was a bit too overpowering. Overall, I will not be returning back to this restaurant. There are far better Chinese restaurants around the area. The one-star is only for the fact that I appreciate that the menus entail calories for every dish which is helpful. Otherwise, onto the next!

Oh MAN this place is delicious. I’m vegetarian and pretty health-conscious, and I have to say I LOVE the plethora of information offered on their menu. The service was great. We arrived right at noon on a Tuesday, and their were lots of customers but we were seated right away. Before we had even ordered drinks, a plate with a complementary spring roll and a salad was placed in front of me, and chow mein noodles with dipping sauce were on the table for sharing. From the flavors presented BEFOREORDERING, I must say I was already getting half-full! Every flavor went perfectly with one another. I ordered the sweet & sour tofu, and oh my GOD it is good. The only overwhelming flavor on the plate is the pineapple, but there isn’t very much of it so it balances well with the tofu, sauce, bell peppers, onion, rice and carrots. I might be addicted after one visit! But it’s okay, because it’s crazy healthy for a Chinese place :)
